Hi all

Anyone knows of a credible source where I can get raw food from? Would like to

know if anyone has experience with raw food diet and if it helped with any

ailments. Thank you

I wonder what's the easiest way to start the diet... beside the raw salads/vegis

I eat already

Hello,

Good idea to eat raw vegetables as some water soluble vitamins are

lost through heat and draining of natural vegetable juices. Popular

raw foods include carrot, broccoli, cauliflower.

However, be careful about how vegetables are grown. I would recommend

an organic food store. The under-mentioned website discusses how to

grow organic foods and the benefits of natural and organic foods:

http://www.yourorganicdepot.com

However, from what I know, the website is NOT an organic food store.

You may need to search the Internet for a suitable organic / natural

foods store near you home. Cheers.

HI,

I've recently gone raw.

The last 3 weeks have been about 80% raw and now I'm 100% raw since

March 1..so is my 18 year old daughter.

A few great websites are:

www.davidwolfe.com he does RAW SUPERFOODS...and I've bought from him

personally. GREAT products.

www.letstalkraw.com

Other than that...raw fresh organic food is best in your local store.

Where do you live? I'min Missouri and it's hard to find raw fresh

organic in the middle of winter, but I have found some food at

SCHNUCKS markets and Wholefoods.

What I've experienced so far is more clarity in thinking, a lot more

energy int he afternoon, and over all calming all day long, I'm not

hungry, I feel full most of the day, no hunger pains ;-) Weight loss

and my eye sight is improving.

Have fun.

Eat well, live well, be well.

David Wolfe is a longtime raw foodist and is considered to be one of

the leading experts on raw diets and nutrition. He sells many raw

" superfoods " on his website:

http://www.sunfood.com

The products he sells are top notch.

He also has many videos on YouTube that you can watch for free to

learn more about the benefits of eating raw food.

Here's another excellent online source for high quality raw foods:

http://www.rawguru.com/store/home.php

If there's a farmers market near you, this is one of the best places

to find locally grown, seasonal, organic fresh raw fruits and veggies.

Another great idea is to see if you can find a food coop near you and

start shopping there for raw food. These coops often carry many

different kinds of fresh, organic, locally grown produce.

Here's a link that can help you find coops as well as other good

sources of fresh, organically grown raw food in your area:

http://www.localharvest.org/food-coops/

You may also wish to consider looking into the availability of raw

dairy products from grass fed animals, which are much more nourishing

and wholesome than those that are pasteurized, homogonized or from

factory farmed animals:

Sure, there are loads of them. Start by checking out Angela Stokes'

story:

Here's a list of even more people who have benefited from eating raw

foods:

Just start eating more raw food! :-)

Try sprouting your own sprouts from seeds.

Experiment with fermenting your own raw vegetables and raw dairy products.

Look into consuming more nutrient dense raw superfoods like seaweeds,

spirulina, chlorella, bluegreen algae or marine phytoplankton, which

are all both highly nutritious as well as being extremely cleansing

for the body.

Consider investing in a juicer or high powered blender, or perhaps a

dehydrator. You can juice just about any kind of raw fruits and

veggies, and drinking raw juice is a powerful way to both nourish and

detoxify the body. You can make all different sorts of raw smoothies

with a blender, which is another fast and easy way to get lots of

nutrition into your body in a single meal. And you can learn how to

dehydrate raw foods to make all kinds of different raw snacks,

crackers and jerky etc.

You can also find out how to make raw nut milks, butters and cheeses.

See if you can find a book with raw recipes that look yummy to you.

There are many available. Here's one you might try:

http://www.rawinten.com/

You can also find lots of recipes online for free just by doing a

little searching.

Remember that you don't have to go completely raw all at once. In

fact that's probably not a very good idea. Just start learning more

about raw foods and the many innovative ways to prepare them, and keep

incorporating more of them into your everyday meals as it feels

natural for you.

Here's a link to a huge resource where you can learn more:

http://www.living-foods.com/

There are loads of other websites, articles, support groups, videos

and other information all over the net these days about raw food

diets, and more books on this subject are being published all the

time. Do some searches and see what you can find!

Organic fruits and veggies at the grocery store is what we use.. or " known "

organic farmers. When I was raw, I searchec raw and living foods and found tons

and tons of stuff.... You might consider investing in a food dehydrator also...

I think foods cooked under 116 degrees or so are still considered raw... I have

many connections in Michigan, where are you from?

kindly,

Oh boy do I have a question for you guys. I have a health challenge with my hip

and worn cartilage. Lately I've been eating a raw diet, raw milk eggs, cheese,

vegtables and meat. I've heard it all has great regenerative properties but I

have also been told to stick with mostly vegitarian stuff because of my A+ blood

type. My hip has also been hurting more lately for some reason. Do you think

that could be because of the raw meat, cheese, eggs, honey?? Thanks!

I thought that eating raw foods is not as healthy because your body can't absorb

the vitamins and nutrients as well as when they're cooked, and raw foods are

just good for some fiber... Could someone shed any light on this?

The Weston Price Foundation has a lot of good information on this

topic. Some foods are better cooked in terms of releasing their

nutrients and others are not. Carrots and sweet potatoes are a good

example.

If it were not for parasites, raw meat and fish would be far best for

you. Certainly, overcooked meat is a very poor choice. Standard Process

sells a dried raw organ meat product that is said to be very helpful in

rejuvenating the heart muscle.

Also, my 80 lb golden retriever is nearly 15 years old as a result of

his raw meat diet... about twice the average life span of a dog this

size... and going strong. Normal dog food is way overcooked...

basically deep fried... a really poor choice.

What i know is that cooking strips some vitamins and minerals from food.  Also,

cooked meats and seafoods are extremely hard to digest thereby taxing the

pancreas and using up all the digestive and other  enzymes, which are also

needed in other parts of the body.  This is one of the reasons why we are also

sick.  I still eat cooked veggies though.
