Guest guest Report post Posted March 1, 2009 As a licensed Massage Therapist I have to think of my safety and the safety of other clients when I question someone's health. We are touching people's bodies and privates are covered and to be on the safe side, I do not touch what I cannot see. In darkness parasites can leave through the anus and get on sheets. There are some skin diseases that are contagious. I wash my hands up to my elbows after every massage. Clean sheets are put on the table after every massage. So if I have any doubts as to the safety of massaging that person I would then ask for a doctor's OK in writing. At the spa, we cannot work on people with lesions, sores etc. Look at people's feet and some have Athletes foot and do not have the courtesy to tell us. I could go on and on. As a LMT I have the right to refuse treatment is I have questions as to that person's health condition and how it can affect me and other clients.
