Guest guest
Their is also something natural called " agave nectar " that is good as well as stevia which my doctor recommended for systemic yeast, so I'm sure it's ok for diabetics as well. I have only found it at Wholefoods. It should say on the label. Pam I am Happily Married. <violet_luvr Saturday, September 13, 2008 1:04:10 PM << >> Re: Aspartame, Diet Soda, Splenda. Thank you so much for sharing this info. I am diabetic and have stopped drinking diet soda. I do like my coffee to be a little bit sweet. Would Stevia be a good replacement? Or maybe a tiny bit of raw sugar? Any advice would be great. Thanks again! Jennifer
Guest guest
Agave has carbohydrates. I am a diabetic and I won't touch the stuff. " Agave syrup consists primarily of fructose and glucose. One source[3] gives 92% fructose and 8% glucose; another[4] gives 56% fructose and 20% glucose. These differences presumably reflect variation from one vendor of agave syrup to another. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agave_syrup Same thing for raw sugar. Diabetics do not need any more carbs. Stevia should work, but I can't stand the taste.
