If you look up details about the Buteyko Breathing Method you'll find that

shallow breathing is the way to prevent the hyperventilation-type of shallow

breathing in anxiety attacks.

 

The advice to breathe out with a sign will make you lose even more CO2 that

is necesary to make use of oxygen.
