Clipping the Frenum

If you are talking about the piece of skin the attaches from

the bottom of the tongue to the upper gum on the lower

teeth. Both my son and my brother had to have these

clipped at birth. Otherwise they would have been

speech affected (try to talk without moving your tongue

to the upper part of your mouth) Both my brother and

my son had to have speech lessens to help with lisps etc.

They are both fine. I hope this helps. M

Hi,

My kids ages 6 and 9 just had their dentist appts and the dentist said they

would both need their upper frenums clipped- the little piece of skin that joins

the lip to the gum- he said it is attached too low and will not allow their 2

front teeth to grow together. My 9 yr old's 2 front teeth are actually already

far apart, perhaps from the frenum or maybe kids' teeth start out like that and

then grow together as more adult teeth come in- I haven't done any
