It leaches into your food and could cause things like

Alzimers and other nerve disorders. It goes strait to

your brain and getts stored up there.

Aluminum is very toxic, and will leach out into the food, especially

acidic foods. Dump'em!

The PFC non-stick cookware also leaches toxins, and are best avoided

too.

Safest cookware (IMHO) is glass, stainless steel, and cast iron.

Other sources of aluminum (besides cookware and anti-perspirants)

are: aluminum foil, aluminum cans, baking powder (you can find alum-

free at most HFS), LOTS of food additives, LOTS of chemical

pharmaceuticals (both prescription & OTC drugs and also " topical "

medicines), toothpastes, " treated " city drinking water,

cosmetics/skin care, dental amalgams/cement, table salt, and its also

commonly used as an " adjuvant " in various vaccines/shots used

by " allopathic " medicine.

you can make your own deoderant. it is not the same as anti persperant, but it

isn't healthy to block your pores.

fill a spritz bottle with witchhazel. if you want you can add a few drops of

tea tree oil (it is anti bacterial) and/or any EO that you fancy.

the biggest problem with really stinky sweat is your body dumping toxins.

instead of masking it, or blocking pores, the best option is cleansing.

this deoderant will be a gentle masking if desired. i usually just swab my pits

with a witchhazel soaked cotton ball on occaision.

I have read this too..however, I do still think it might be a question of whether certain people can clean out the aluminum or store it in a way that is not effecting the body, while others cannot. I don't know if it is actually the aluminum that is causing the disease; by the way, how can heavy metals be cleaned out of the body safely?

I don't often need deodorant anymore (since " cleaning up my act "

several years ago), but on the occasions I do use it, I use a

chemical and aluminum-free deodorant (roll-on).

The one I use is Real Purity Holistic Formula. (I have no ties to

this company, other than that I do purchase several of their product

items, as chem-free skin care is hard to find around here. They

carry the Real Purity line at my local HFS....but they do have a

website too) Many of the other products at the HFS do contain

various chemical ingredients in their formulas. (always read

ingredient labels, even at the HFS!)

I use this wonderful Thai Crystal deodorant.

I admit, I have cleansed, I eat right, but I work like a horse, I live in Louisiana and I sweat. I work hard, play hard, get dirty and SWEAT allot.

If I do not use deodorant I will stink. No two ways about it. My body odor comes from picking up bacteria here there and yonder. Bacteria is what causes the smell. So, I apply the Thai Crystal deodorant twice a day. Once at night after my shower, and again in the morning. There may have been a few times when I had to reapply in the middle of the day for the heavy sweating washes it off.

Yep, girl raised in the south, but I sweat and enjoy myself. No need to sweeten it up by saying perspire. True GRITS!

The Thai Crystal is about $10 here in Louisiana at my pricey health food store; it has been used by myself and my husband for the past six months or so and it barely shows use. I think it will likely last us three years. There is also a pump spray bottle, haven't tried that.

Good stuff.

Dear Deb,

Aluminum is highly toxic.

One of its effects is Autism. Others are Dementia; Altheimers; etc.

It is also one of the leading causes of Breast Cancer in Women who use aluminum based deodorants.

BAAAAAAAAD stuff!!!!!!

Jasmine,

I found that one of the small local HFS (Health Food Stores) here

carries the full line of Real Purity products. Skin/Hair Care and

Cosmetics. Most of the other Health Store brands use petrochems in

their stuff (mainly as preservatives), which is how they can sell

them cheaper. But I've found that you need to use so much less of

the Real Purity products, that they last longer, so they are really

cheaper in the long run, in addition to being organic and petrochem-

free. :)

We don't have any of the larger Natural Food Stores in my area (like

Whole Foods, Wild Oats, or Trader Joe's) so I don't know if any of

them carry the products.

Real Purity does have a website you can check out (or order from) if

you are interested in the deodorant, and can't find it locally tho.

Its at: http://www.realpurity.com/

Again, I have no affiliation with this company, other than that I do

purchase some of their products offered.

Hi Doc,

So as long as the deodorant does not contain aluminum, it is safe? I only ask because many men's deodorant's are deodarant only and not anti-perspirant, so they do not contain aluminum....

Thank you,
