Guest guest
Janine, Are you referring to the Red Hat Society? When I'm old I shall wear purple? Any article of purple clothing is a sure sell on Ebay (earthfinds) if you mention the Red Hat Society. Up to certain age wears purple - the older women wear red hats (or vice versa) Judy ===== Gifts from the Three Wise Men for the Christmas Season! Guest guest
LOL yeah, the Red Hat Society. If you are 45-50 you wear lavender dresses and pink hats, 'ladies-in-waiting' as it were. Once you hit 50, it's purple dresses [outfits] and red hats. And man, they go all out sometimes! I had a gal buy my purple organza bags with the boa and she said something about her 'red hat club'. Then I met a gal in the store the other day, [where I shopped for 4 hours!] who told me about it. I can only wear pink for this month, then I'm flying high! Already have my aarp card! I'm jazzed! Neysa, I think they go beautifully together too, those colors! The poem says a purple dress and a red hat that don't suit each other, so that makes me think like a beautiful dress with a straw hat with flowers. Someone at church told me last Sunday that the 50's are better and the 60's are better yet! No one told me about the 40's. When you hit 40, within 6 months you will need glasses. LOL I didn't know about that, til I hit 40 and was at the eye doctors! And at 40, you care less about what other people think and start becoming more comfortable in your own skin. 40's ya get more comfortable. But I've already begun whatever my 50's is supposed to bring! And I *love* it! I always thought 50 sounded O-L-D, but now with this beautiful, peaceful, calm, settled feeling inside me AND the age related ability to REALLY show the eccentric vanguard I am, this is WAY cool. Plus the fact that I don't look 50 at all, too much fun, too much fun. Just think. We women, as we age, are known to perhaps not age on the outside as nicely as men, but baby, we MORE than make up for it on the inside and that's what counts! An old man is a curmudgeon, an old woman is a Red Hat Lady!
