OT: planets and outage

Thought some here might find astrological insight about the outage

helpful. Following are messages I sent to friends the day before the outage,

and

the evening after.

David, this is the message I sent the day before the power outage. I'll

send you an update I sent, too.

If you are not using the outer planets, I suggest you look into them.

Their transits (as well as natal positions) are extremely potent! For instance,

when UR squared my Sun, I developed cardiac arrythmia. (UR causes

irregularity of all kinds.) As soon as the transit ended, so did the problem.

A friend has forwarded me an interesting message, which is pasted on

below.

I'd just read an article about this same period of time from an

astrological point of view. " Caldron of Heaven " by Steve Herbst in the

Aug/Sept.

Mountain Astrologer. He has a website with a free monthly newsletter for anyone

interested. www.billherbst.com

In a nutshell, very shortly Mars will be closer to Earth than it has been

in 60,000 years and will be conjunct Uranus. Uranus signifies electricity

among other things. Also sudden, often explosive events. (The space shuttle

had a bad Mars/Uranus aspect on takeoff. There is no energy more explosive than

Mars/Uranus.) On August 27th, the two of them will oppose the Sun, Venus,

Jupiter and the Moon. A hot time may be had by many.

Being prepared for outages is always a good idea, IMHO. If you've been

thinking it'd be a good idea to beef up your disaster preparedness, this would

be as good a time as any likely to come along soon. I don't know that we'll

be needing bunkers, but pretty sure bet it'll be a good time to act very

consciously. Those whose natal charts are impacted by the transits will be the

ones who experience direct events. The rest of us will read about it and see

it on TV. (I refuse to watch TV news, personally.)

A good time to look at Mars both figuratively and literally. It will be

5 times brighter than usual, even brighter than Jupiter. As it will be

opposing the Sun I think we should be able to see it at sunrise and sunset on

the

Figuratively, we can look at our own tendencies towards impatience,

recklessness and aggression when we have strong Mars transits. If Mars at 11:30

Aquarius aspects your sidereal natal planets, heads up!

Dear Ones,

After today's events there is a bit more I'd like to share with you about

the nature of this intense Mars and Mars/Uranus energy. A lot of New Yorkers

were stuck in the subway system for hours, and it was 90 in New York today.

The mayor was very concerned about people in general there having enough water

to avoid dehydration and heat stroke.

Mars is hot. Very hot. And is closer to Earth in the next couple of

weeks than in history we have heard about. In Europe, they have been

experiencing a terrible heat wave. " PARIS (Aug. 14) - A blistering heat

wave across

Europe has caused as many as 3,000 deaths in France alone, the government said

Thursday, as overburdened funeral homes and morgues struggled to manage an

overflow of incoming bodies. .... Abnormally high temperatures have baked

France and other parts of Europe this month, fanning forest fires and

devastating

livestock. .... ''It's a nationwide catastrophe the likes of which we've

never seen,'' said Patrick Pelloux, head of the association for French emergency

hospital physicians. "

So, if you do nothing else in the way of preparedness, I hope you have

extra water on hand. Actually, we all have some water stored - in our toilet

tank, hot water heater and water pipes. Some of us could find this worth

remembering.

I have just heard that the supposed cause of the outage was lightning

striking a power plant. Nothing could be more Mars/Uranus!

A chain of events put into motion yesterday is of note as well. - The

computer virus that affected so many computers, businesses and websites

supposedly contains a worm coded to start massed dial-ins to Microsoft

computers

this Saturday in a " denial of service " attack. Electronics of all sorts and

the Internet itself are Uranian. More of this kind of problem could be upcoming

as well. As Mars conjucts Uranus, patience will not be exactly the

prevailing demeanor, but it would be a wise choice.

There was quite a lot in today's news about the trials of folks in New

York, Cleveland, etc. without water.
