Shelf life of infusions

If you are talking about just an herbal tea infusion (herbs and water), it

has to be refrigerated and will probably be good for about 7 days. As for

Grapefruit Seed Extract - I would say no go for the eyes. I once got some on my

tongue and I thought I was going to die. I couldn't even imagine getting it in

my eyes. An infusion is so easy to make, I would just make small amounts and

keep making new as needed.

Have a wonderful day.

Can anyone tell me how long an infusion remains good? I make an infusion

of eyebright for gunky eyes in a dog I'm fostering (worked great!) and

I'm wondering how long I can keep it (these dogs tend to come in w/

slight eye infections). I'd also like to give some to the rescue

director for the dogs at the farm . . . seems better (and cheaper) than

the antibiotic ointment she uses now.

Is it better to refrigerate it, or is it OK to store at room temp? I'm

also wonderinga bout adding a drop or 2 of GSE . . . would that be safe

to put in the eyes, or should I steer clear of it?

Thanks bunches!!

Thanks, Patty. This si pretty much what I thought . . . the GSE sounded

like a good idea, but I was vert leery of putting even a dilute amount in

eyes.
