The more rounded and diverse the diet, the better for you - and everything in moderation. Unless, of course, you have a physical condition which precludes the eating of certain things. If you only sit behind a desk, then it is harder to tell what food gives you the energy, and what does not. But if you do hard labor.....or hard physical workouts like lifting weights, it is easy to feel what food gives you the energy, and what does not. And wheat bread does not, on the contrary.....it sucks energy out of you. On the other hand rye bread gives you energy, it gives you a surplus of energy for your work - workout. And so does oatmeal, there is a hell of a difference with starting the day on wheat bread.....and starting the day on a oatmeal - porridge. This is commonly accepted where I is.
