Cold/Cough remedies for a 3 year old

My poor little 3 year old has an awful cold right now and is congested and up

half the night coughing. I've done a chest rub and vaporizer for her, but that

doesn't seem to be working.

Are there any natural medicines out there that I could try?

Are there other remedies that help?

We all need some sleep soon.

Thanks!

To allow for a good night's sleep without coughing.put some mentholated rub

on her feet (a dab will do you.I use a nice finger sized " gob " ) and then put

socks over them. This is an old remedy and I've used it quite successfully.

It should keep coughing at bay for anywhere between 8-12 hours. My kids go

to bed around 7:30pm or so and I heard my oldest start coughing again around

5:30am or so.

A tea spoonfull of Turmeric (Haldi) powder in a cup of milk will ease the

symptom and lead to a cure

Avoid milk for a little while as it tends to worsen congestion. Vitamin C is

great for boosting immunity. Try to give her some fresh orange juice (which my

daughter loves to help try to squeeze) as it has the vitamin c and absorps

easily along with so much other good stuff. If you have peppermint or

eucalyptus essential oils you could diffuse those for her to ease her breathing.

It always helps my family!

Try cammomile tea with honey-cold or warm- which ever she prefers----- this will

help to relax her esp at bed time----if she is having trouble coughing up the

phlem then try a little  fenugreek-------it may be something you have to mash

up with something she likes as it tastes like curry-but it will help  to

separate the  phlem -making it easier to cough up-------
