Guest guest
Hi All, this is Olivier, whose mother died of pancreatic cancer about 3 weeks ago. My remaining family, my brother, has a high degree of diabetes, with, scary, big eye problems including cataracts. QUESTION: What are some of the best things/supplements/whatever for diabetes? My brother is supposed to have lasers in his eyes, but only in 2 months, and things are getting worse. He has several spots in his eye and its getting worse. So time of the essence, once agian. Any help, recommendations, opinions would be extremely appreciated. P.S. For those wondering how im doing with grieving, the short answer is im hanging in there. Its on and off. Christmas and jan 31 countdown will be the worse i think. But everyone goes through this, right? cheers Olivier

Guest guest
Olivier, Nice to hear from you and learn you are on the road to getting better. Fenugreek powder has helped me a lot in bringing down my blood sugar. You can add it into a tea, or just a glass of water. I take 1/8 tsp then measure my blood sugar. It starts going down quickly like say, half an hour to two hours. After around three or four hours, i check my blood sugar again, if it is not yet at the normal range, then i take another 1/8 tsp. You can go to as much as 1/4 tsp depending on the blood sugar content of the blood. Since this powder is fast acting, you must be very careful in using it specially if you also take diabetic medicines. Monitor, monitor, monitor. When his sugar level is normal, then make him stay away from carbohydrates (rice, potatoes, white breads, white flours, cakes, cookies, etc.) sodas, any form of sugar, fat. Small amounts of fresh fruits may be taken but in small portions only as this also raises blood sugar. Lots of vegetables (small portions on sweet ones) and beans and nuts. I use stevia liquid and powder as sweetener. This is a natural product from a plant that does not raise blood sugar. If it were me, i will wait until the sugar level is very well stabilized before getting eye laser surgery. Diabetics heal for a long long time. This is only to avoid complications. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in spite of your deeply missing your dear Mom. I'll keep you and your brother in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, thanks for thinking and asking about me : ) You know, when someone goes through something bad, lot o people often think to themselves " man, i dont know how he/she can endure this, i wouldnt be able to " . But when its you, you dont have the choice and your brain try and finds a way to cope with it all. Its really hard, and sometimes a bit less. Its my hope these messages remind people fighting for life that theyre so lucky to be alive and hope it gives them a boost of motivation to follow their strict protocol. thanks again Barbara Olivier oleander soup , barbara elenniss <bntelenniss wrote: > > Hi Oliver, > > I was just asking about you a few days ago. Guest guest
Hi Tony, nice talking to you again. Im hanging in there, which before, i never thought i would. So its a tidy bit better, but you know... Thanks for your tony diabetes protocol! Exactly what i wanted : ) I have a bunch of questions about it tho... -My brother is taking like 2-3 different types of pills for his blood sugar etc.. If some of the supplements you mention lower sugar levels, and some of his pills do as well, wouldnt that be too much lowering of sugar level? How to deal with that? (sounds just like when i asked about blood thinning properties of supplements for my mom, and she was on blood thinner as well). -Is there a safe dosage of supplements to take with the pills hes already taking for sugar level? How to transition? -You said: " For diabetes, take at least 50 mg per day of Iodine (a combination of both elemental and potassium iodine) and selenium must also be taken in order for iodine to work properly. " What is an elemental iodine and what is a potassium iodine? I have: Lugol's iodine (5% iodine solution from utopia natuals) -Do you have the url of a GTF Chromium you recommend? -FINALLY: My brother really isnt a pill person. What would be the top 4(in order of importance) supplements, and dosages, you would recommend my brother take? (keep in mind he has diabetes, but also crystalin/eye problems with cataracts worsening. Keep this in mind when make the choice of supplements) thanks so much Tony!!! Having disvered this forum and used it for my mom, will probably have been worth it if it help save my brother's eyes and extend his life. cheers Olivier oleander soup , "" wrote: > > > Olivier > > I am glad to hear you are hanging in there. Guest guest
Hi Melli : ) Thanks for that great post of yours. Full of good tips that will surely help my brother. Im extremely thankful for you taking the time. -Question: can you point to me to where you buy your fenugreek powder? -When you said: " Diabetics heal for a long long time. This is only to avoid complications. " You mean it takes a long time to heal from diabetes, correct? My bro has no choice but to do eye surgery, hes getting more and more spots in his eyesight, and crystallin problems only much older people sometimes get. Im very worried he could go blind within 6 months. Just wanted to clarify. I will re read your post agsin thanks! Guest guest
Hi Thomas, very interesting... -Starting with 4 spears, then increasing to how much maximum? -When you start this, does it lower your sugar levels? And if it does, should he reduce his meds when starting this? How to do you balance both the meds and this juice together> THanks! My wife's diabetes (type 2) is under control and has gotten off her diabetes meds for 3 monts now. Daily testing and 3 independent lab tests confirm the numbers--she is under 110 most days. Guest guest
Oli, I don't think you can OD on asparagus but like anything else you can have so much of it that you don't want to see another asparagus spear again. It's a matter of how much you can stand it. My wife and I juice asparagus for it's cancer fighting properties, the other stuff is incidental. My wife does 4 spears (about 2oz) three times (yes she added to it) a day while I do only 4 spears (2 oz) once a day ( my BP went from 158 to just under 140--no exercise--no meds--could use another drop to under 120,we'll see). The health benefits might be derived in part from juicing or in part from change in diet or a combination of both. Dieting alone did not produce these health benefits so I would tend to think that asparagus has something to do with it. Always consult you Medical doctor for any health issues (my doctor doesn't bug me as much nowadays!) that you might have. Help your doctor helpYOU.
