Guest guest
I'm very intruiged with alternative medicine and do alot of reading on holistic health because I find balance to be the most precious element in the maintainance of health. For the past year and a half I haven't been as balanced as I've sought out to be. I have had amenorrhea since July 4, 2004. Since then, however, I've had two menstrual cycles, one in April 2005 then again in August 2005. I was taking vitex and some homeopathy (sepia) to treat the hormone imbalance. However, now I'm beginning to understand that it's not solely a hormonal. I recently moved and now unable to see the acupuncturist who treated me before. He diagnosed me as being blood defiecent and found stagnation on my liver meridain. Now a year and a half later still no period I'd like to go back to the blood building herbs he had me on before (PDL and XDH). I'm awaiting my test results for my recent blood draw to rule out possible anemia. My blood pressure is also very low, yesterday the reading was 92/66. Besides the low blood pressure, other symptoms include, very poor circulation, low energy/ fatigue, cold-limbs (hands and feet always very cold), lack of concentration, lost in thoughts, confused, faint breathing, insecure, introversion. I've concluded some physcosomatic connections with this imbalance and have finally realized that my overly giving nature and nurturing could be taking away from my ability to get better, and further contributing to this imbalance. I also seek others approval and I'm tired of feeling insecure and awaiting validation from others. I recently read the liver has a lot of control over the volume of blood in the body. In addition, I've read that it could also reflect weak protective qi and that liver blood may also be deficient. I'm interested in any information, insight or advise concerning my issues with my hormonal imbalance,(I'm about to turn 25 next week and would very much like to be reintroduced to my feminine side)and maintaining a consistant balance with my blood. Any advice is greatly appreciated and welcomed. Please feel free to share any stories you may have heard similar to mine!!! With love and gratitude, Sophia ~~Also interested in any grounding techniques, excercises (yoga, qigong??) that might be good for me... Guest guest
I tried sepia to remove breast soreness. Then I noticed my boobs getting larger. So I have a clue that sepia does influence hormones. Also I am a heavy menstrual bleeder. The sepia slowed down my blood flow. Also remidied digestive upsets during the first 3 days. Guest guest
Hi Sophigonty, Your cold hands and feet as well as your faint breathing and fatigue could be indications of kidney deficiency, also very often implicated in both menstrual issues and liver blood deficiency issues. Naturally it is impossible to make an accurate assesment from over the sea and never having seen you, but you could try some acupressure on your Kidney 3 point, which tonifies kidney qi, yin and yang, and which, if it doesn't do you any good, most certainly will not harm you. I often use this point for the set of symptoms mentioned above. You can find the point at this website: www.yinyanghouse.com. There is a graphic on http://www.yinyanghouse.com/acupoints/ki_meridian.html and a description of the point on http://www.yinyanghouse.com/acupoints/ki3.html The point is found " In the depression midway between the tip of the medial malleolus and the attachment of the achilles tendon. " Just so that you know, malleolus is your ankle bone, and medial refers to inside leg. Just massage the point gently (not enough to cause yourself any discomfort) for about three minutes on each side daily and see if you get any positive result!! Best of luck Marisa --- sophiagonty <sophiagonty wrote: > I'm very intruiged with alternative medicine and > do alot of > reading on holistic health because I find balance to > be the most > precious element in the maintainance of health. Guest guest
Hi Marisa, Sophigonty: Moxibustion on this point, K 3, can help as well, as moxibustion helps boost kidney Qi. Guest guest
From Yingyang house.com: ¤ Tonifies Yin of KD (chronic sore throat, empty heat), LV (dizziness, tinnitus, headache) a/or HT (anxiety, insomnia, excessive dreaming). Hey, I have inexplicable chronic sore throat! TCM rocks! Sorry, neophyte's enthusiasm. I have my first acupuncture appointment tomorrow and I kept wondering whether to mention this because many of my symptoms correspond with hypothyroidism which medical tests show I do not have. I know that I try to restrain with medical doctors because they will label you a hypochondriac in a heartbeat. I guess I will tell them everything. Anyone with similar case should consult with Dr and get approval before making any changes, even those changes are very simple in our daily life: diets, excercices due to the complexcity of the problem. 1.For the best of the patient, Dr. Should be informed any treatments and medications from different sources because there are interactions between: drugs-drugs, drug-herbs etc.. 2. Consult with Dr : change to healthy surrounding, diets, life style, excercises which fit personality, anything out side this spectrum just stop or forget for a while until all the problems gone. Go out enjoy sport, out- door activities, music, travel, dinner etc... 3.Tuina ( healing art of Chinese families ) for amenorrhea: massage and acupressure *lying supine, put 2 palms on lower abdomen, rubbing, kneading clockwise for 10 minutes, start slow then increase speed until warm feeling. *Sitting a little forward, rubbing up and down the lower back with 2 palms, 2 minutes until warm feeling Apply acupressure on Large Intestine 4 located at the end of the cease made by index finger and thumb when they are pressed together 4.
