Guest guest
Hello! I am new here to this group forum, but I am a current student of Holistic and . Both my wife and I obtained AFPA certification this past summer as Nutritional Wellness Consultants through American Fitness Profesionals and Associates (www.afpafitness.com), and I am also doing concurrent distance education studies through Medboo Health, and the China Academy of Traditional in Beijing, China (www.ontcm.com). Additionally, I am scheduled to attend Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, in Tempe Arizona in January 2005, with a major of Holistic Health Practitioner. Furthermore, I have been doing independent Studies through Blue Poppy Enterprises (www.bluepoppy.com) and most recently this included a class in FMS (Fibromyalgia Syndrome). I hope that this information is helpful. The Blue Poppy FMS course stated the key advice for treating FMS with is: 1. Always treat the patient's patterns presented by the particular patient. There will be less then three (3) patterns and maybe up to 8- 10 patterns presenting simultaneously. 2. State the patterns in order of predominance. 3. Write the treatment principles in the same order. 4. Choose a guiding formula from the first (1st) set of principles. (Think what is the strongest presenting symptom and build your formula from the most promient presenting symptoms to the least.) 5. Then modify the formula based on the remaining principles. 6. Make stabilization of sleep a priority. In FMS first (1st) treat insomnia and often the body pain goes away by itself. Clinical experience shows thaqt successful treatment of insomnia is typically followed by automatic improvement in musculoskeletal pain and other accompanying disorders. 7. Emphasize a good diet. FMS and Acupuncture: Most of the trigger points identified by Western Medicine in the diagnosis of FMS are located on the hand and foot Tai Yang channels. Three (3) Free Therapies: 1. Adequate Exercise(but, not too much!): Moves the Qi and quickens the blood. Fortifies the spleen and harmonizes the stomach out-thrusting the heat. 2. Adequate Relaxation: Resolves depression and disinhibits Qi mechanism. 3. Proper Diet: (i.e. qing dan, clear, bland diet) Fortifies teh spleen. Dries the dampness. Prevents heat. The following formulas seem to be effective for FMS: 1. Resolve Depression & Stabilize Sleep Formula. Treats combination of Qi stagnation and Blood Statis with depressive heat and an element of dampness. 2. Modified 11 Flavors Warm the Gallbladder Formula. Treats a combination of Liver Depression and Spleen vacuity with Heart Qi and Blood vacuity complicated by phlegm dampness. 3. Ultimate Immortals Formula. Treats Liver-Spleen Disharmony complicated by Liver blood - Kidney Yin and Yang vacuity and vacuity heat. I hope that this information on FMS has been helpful and informative. Take Care. Be Well. God Bless. Return to healthy living...just like; " In the beginning... " Genesis_Holistics
