RE: Bentonite clay weight loss

I have been using calcium bentonite clay for several months now and have experienced an unexpected but consistent weight loss of about 2 pounds per week. I have not intentionally changed my diet which is basically to eat whenever I am hungry, including sweets. I take about 1 tablespoon of hydrated clay twice a day. Has anyone else experienced weight loss with bentonite?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Maracuja. That's what most people do--buy dry and add water at home. Here is the link to the clay group

And this is how you hydrate it

For a liquid drink:

1 tablespoon clay to 8 ounces good water. Shake hard for 3 to 5 minutes, let it sit for an hour, shake again and then drink one ounce on an empty stomach in the morning and one at night before bed, though some people drink it throughout the day, up to 6 ounces.

For Hydrated Clay:

1 part clay with 3 parts water, depending on the type of clay you are using (what company it is from will determine how much it absorbs). A good swelling clay usually has a 1 to 3 ratio. Non swelling clays is a 1 to 1 ratio. Swelling clays are considered the better type for healing, the non-swelling is good for spa treatments.

Mix this thoroughly and let it sit for at least 12 hours, until it is the consistency of sour cream. This can be applied topically or eaten by the spoonful.

Poultice:

To make a poultice mix the dry powder with enough water to make a heavy paste. Use a 1 to 1 mixture. Allow to sit for several hours until all the water is absorbed. Spread this thickly on a piece of cloth or gauze or saran wrap and apply to the body.

A clay bath:

There are 2 methods of making this. Pour a quart to a half gallon of liquid clay into running hot bath water and stir by hand, or cast 1 to 2 ounces (or more) under the running hot water. Stir by hand until dissolved.

This amount of clay in a bath usually won't clog the drain or septic, though you may want to put a strainer under the tub stopper so as to strain out as much clay as possible, and then wipe the tub out rather than let the clay go down the drain.

Some people that want heavy clay baths use a child's swimming pool outside. This way they can just dump the water/clay in the yard and don't have to worry about clogging drains.

Dry clay:

Can be used on wounds.

When mixing clay and water use glass, wooden or plastic containers and spoons. Metal reacts to clay because clay removes heavy metals from the body, so may strip off some metal from the containers and stirrers.

When you join the clay group you can go to the file section and read how tos there, plus ask any questions on list.

Samala,

Renee

----

That would be wonderful, thanks so much Renee! so far I have only found one supplier in NZ. It is hydrated. I have the address of the original supplier somewhere, so perhaps I could buy it dry, & hydrate it myself - save shipping the weight of the water.

No, no cancer. I take about 1 tablespoon of hydrated clay twice a day everyday (morning/evening). No changes to my diet. Still have sweet cravings daily. No weight loss before bentonite. I am now down 18 pounds.I am surprised. I kept waiting to gain back the weight but it hasn't happened yet.

Steve, I  can't say that my own weight loss is related to the clay.It started before I began using the clay. However if it clears the garbage out of the intestines so there is better assimilation of nutrients and improved elimination of waste, I should imagine that would result in weight loss. Sounds good to me!Maracujaoleander soup Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 1:37 PM

I found the weight loss as well, maybe not as much. I was using it for a bowel cleanse. However the reason I determined I was losing weight was because I couldn't eat before or after the bentonite shake. This prevented me from snacking in the evening which in turn reaped huge rewards in the spare tire department.

Whew - you had me worried there. So, like me you do not have cancer

and you are a bit of a fudger when it comes to sweeets.

I am no clay expert at all - but my first thought is that doing it

every day, day after day, seems more than a little bit excessive.

From what I have read at CureZone, the folks who use it tend to do so

infrequently for detoxing and cleansing purposes mainly - and for

healing too. Some say that Bentonite clay's healing properties comes

from trace minerals, especially silver, found in it.

Actually I do it for my gums and teeth. It has cleared up my gum problems and whitened my teeth. I have 1.5 hour bus ride to and from work and I use it during the ride. I hold the clay covering the teeth for about 20 minutes and then swallow. So it does not affect eating times. I was worried about the weght loss and had increased my intake of mineral supplements because of it. Guess I'll have to find a time when I can spit out the clay. - Steve-oleander soup <oleander soup >oleander soup <oleander soup >Wed Nov 12 18:24:56 2008 Re: Bentonite clay weight lossWhew - you had me worried there. I just bought mine over eBay but aboutclay.com provides info on other sources. I got the calcium bentonite. - Steve-oleander soup <oleander soup >oleander soup <oleander soup >Wed Nov 12 19:01:15 2008Re: Re: Bentonite clay weight lossSteve,Where do you buy this clay?Thanks,Tracy--- On Wed, 11/12/08, Norton, Steve <stephen.norton wrote: Norton, Steve <stephen.norton Re: Re: Bentonite clay weight loss oleander soup Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 6:41 PM Actually I do it for my gums and teeth. - Steve - oleander soup <oleander soup> oleander soup <oleander soup> Wed Nov 12 18:24:56 2008 Re: Bentonite clay weight loss Whew - you had me worried there. So, like me you do not have cancer and you are a bit of a fudger when it comes to sweeets. I am no clay expert at all - but my first thought is that doing it every day, day after day, seems more than a little bit excessive. From what I have read at CureZone, the folks who use it tend to do so infrequently for detoxing and cleansing purposes mainly - and for healing too. Some say that Bentonite clay's healing properties comes from trace minerals, especially silver, found in it. Steve,

I wonder if the clay is blocking the absorption of certain nutrients or fats from your diet. How else could you explain the weight loss if your diet hasn't changed? Clay over time will coat the intestines.

I had the same concern and so I increased my intake of vitamins and minerals. I can tell that some vitamins get through eg B vitamins and alpha lipoic acid. Some days I ate quite a bit of junk eg icecream and to my surprise no noticeably weight change. That is why I am looking for others experiences. I do know that some people have used clay over an extended period of time.It is looking like I should at least cycle my use of clay.Has any one used zeolite over an extended period of time and what was your experience? That may be equivalent to clay use. - Steve-oleander soup <oleander soup >oleander soup <oleander soup >Wed Nov 12 21:20:48 2008Re: Re: Bentonite clay weight lossSteve, I wonder if the clay is blocking the absorption of certain nutrients or fats from your diet. Steve,

I think you should spit out the clay after holding it in your mouth because aren't you drawing out possible bacteria and toxins from you mouth with the clay? You should spit it out. Then, if you want to do the clay internally, do another separate dose.

Just my thoughts.

So, like me you do not have cancerand you are a bit of a fudger when it comes to sweeets.I am no clay expert at all - but my first thought is that doing itevery day, day after day, seems more than a little bit excessive. From what I have read at CureZone, the folks who use it tend to do soinfrequently for detoxing and cleansing purposes mainly - and forhealing too. Some say that Bentonite clay's healing properties comesfrom trace minerals, especially silver, found in it.Tonyoleander soup <oleander soup%40> , "Norton, Steve"<stephen.norton wrote:>> No, no cancer. Rose,

You make a good point. When I first started with the clay there was significant pulling from the gums of bacteria and toxins. Now however, since the clay also does such a good job of keeping the teeth and gums clean and infection free, I am continuing the clay treatment to see if it helps with grow back of the gums rather than infection fighting. Btw, the clay works better than either H2O2 or colloidal silver in my experience for what I am doing now.
