Guest guest
Ladies and gentlemen, I have a big favor to ask those of you who are practicing herbalist or naturapaths. .. One of my very good friends called me a few days ago and asked me about this homeopathic remedy rhus toxicodren.. .she wanted to know if there were any reactions or cautions taking this with over the counter NSAIDs... Apparently her daughter is experiencing a whole host of unexplainable symptoms ranging from fever, rash, joint and muscle pain and swelling, etc...they are actually giving her benedryl for the itching of the rash... they have no clue what is troubling this young woman but whatever it is she has missed a lot of work and although back at work with the help of this and NSAIDs she is not herself...they say it could be a rare condition called Adult Onset Stills Disease...have any of you heard of this? I just know she has asked me for my help since I am somewhat of an herbalist myself...I do not know that much about homeopathic other than it uses the philosophy of " like cures like " ...I don't give advice unless I know something about this... this rhus toxicodren is made from the Poison Ivy Plant so I assume this is why she feels it will help...it is said to help itching, rashes and swelling... I told her she should seek the advice of a qualified naturapath or Herbalist if they feel the treatment is not helping or giving her answers... I also told them in my opinion if she did try this remedy, not to take it with anything else... It is my understanding that when you use homeopathic remedies you are taking small miniscule doses of something that can in larger dose cause the same issue your trying to heal... with the mindset that this small miniscule dose will cause the body to produce the right antibodies needed to fix the problem... If I am correct in this assumption taking an NSAID could cancel it out or make it worse...I could be wrong about this but I would rather be cautious.... any suggestions or advice I could pass along to my friend would be appreciated, thanks, Scherri Mountain Mary's, for Body, Home & Spirit www.mountainmary.com www.mountainmarys.blogspot.com www.peacefullivingnews.blogspot.com
Guest guest
Hello, This person should talk to a qualified homeopath, not an herbalist or other naturopath to understand the deeper aspects of that remedy, and whether it is truly appropriate for them. Great exploration and questions ....she can also write me for answers.
