Guest guest
Do I have to chew up the garlic or can I swallow the pieces of garlic whole, like pills? Just curious if they'd be as effective if I swallow them without chewing them up, I know some things need to be chewed to release the health benefits as the food mixes with your saliva.... , " evergreengarden " <evergreengarden wrote: > > There are many things that you can do to lower your blood pressure - from good nutrition and avoid constipation to proper exercise and relaxation plus some herbs. > Among all them, to eat 3 raw garlic cloves with your meals every day, makes wonders. > I'm talking exactly about fresh raw garlic and not garlic oil, or cook garlic, or garlic powder. > When you start eating the 3 raw garlic cloves per day, check your pressure because It will go low and you soon will stop taking the drug. > > Rena > >
Guest guest
Garlic is a specialized plant that actually packages cellularly two sulfur compounds that only when combined, which happens if cut or bitten, forms allicin and then a bunch of cascading sulfur compounds that are very good for you. Interestingly, though, one of the benefits of raw garlic is that it penetrates quite far into the intestinal tract and provides protection against colon cancer. So, eat it raw and also cooked for cardio benefits, when slicing it is best to expose as much area as possible to allow the sulfur cascade to happen and let the cut or sliced garlic sit for 10 minutes before cooking to maximize benefits. Guest guest
I crush the garlic cloves and add to my food, either hot food after it is cooked or salads. I've heard it is better to wait a few minutes after crushing the garlic before eating it. If I want garlic when I'm not eating, I crush the garlic, put it in a spoon with olive oil and swallow the whole thing quickly. Then drink water. Linda Anna L. Guest guest
Research has shown that crushing garlic is the most effective means of releasing the beneficial substances such as Allicin, Allicinase, Ajoene, Selenium, Saponins and Fructans. These substances are activated and released by the crushing process. An easy way to do this is with a garlic press. The pressed garlic can be consumed with salads mixed with extra virgin olive oil, or other food items.
