Guest guest
SSRI-Research@ Thu, 19 Jan 2006 17:59:03 -0800 (PST) [sSRI-Research] Dr. Ann Tracy's Statement on Demeniuk's High Blood Alcohol Content: email sent to reporter in Florida I just heard your report on Leslie Demeniuk and the jury's conviction being based on the high blood alcohol content. Did no one in that courtroom hear that the SSRIs INCREASE the blood alcohol level as well as causing overwhelming cravings for alcohol? According to the information in my book, she could have had only one drink to end up with alcohol levels that high. What a SHAME that this jury, as so many others, are not being given the facts before they arrive at a verdict affecting someone's life or death! Whatever happened to a fully informed jury? Someone who has ever had a problem with alcohol or illegal drugs should NEVER be given an SSRI antidepressant yet it is done every day of the week! How tragic that the jury would use the high blood alcohol level as the reason for the guilt! That high blood alcohol level is what tells me the antidepressants are in the system. In fact the high blood alcohol level in the body of Henri Paul in the death of Princess Diana is what made me call the Paris police to let them know that they must have a driver on Prozac. Sure enough after checking they found he was indeed not only on Prozac, but also on a drug to stop him from drinking - this was in a person that the family said was not a drinker. This was not in the least surprising to me because the alcohol cravings and abnormal magnification of the alcohol levels were the first thing I saw with these antidepressants back in 1989. In fact the first group I contacted to alert them to the dangers of these drugs was Alcoholics Annonymus. Perhaps my location of Utah where so few do drink and so many use antidepressants was the best place on the planet to notice this particular effect of these drugs because I witnessed people who had never touched alcohol in their lives become alcoholic almost over night. That was my first clue as to what these drugs do to a patient's blood sugar levels since a drastic drop in blood sugar (listed as a side effect) will produce a craving for alcohol. This strong effect upon the blood sugar of course went on to lead to the drastic rise in diabetes that we have witnessed nationwide since these drugs were introduced. It is all easy to see and to understand IF someone is given the information. But when you are protecting profits of nearly $100 Million per day . . . who want to endanger that with facts, even if it means exacting justice, huh? If you would like any additional information you can reach me at 515-418-4684 or 801-209-1800. I will include my testimony to the FDA this past year along with the testimony of the first boy shot at Columbine High School for you to read because I think you will find the information very, very interesting. Florida has SO MANY of these cases that this will be basic information needed for a large number of news reports. I Can't Get Off My Antidepressant! (800-280-0730) Dr. Ann Blake Tracy is the Executive Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness ( www.drugawareness.org ). She has a PhD in Health Sciences with the emphasis on Psychology. Dr. Tracy has researched antidepressants and serotonin for 16 years and testified in both criminal and civil cases involving antidepressants for 13 years. A few examples of the more high profile cases she has worked on would be that of the murder/suicide of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife Brynn, the Columbine and Red Lake High School shootings, mothers killing their children like the Andrea Yates case, workplace violence shootings like the Atlanta Day Trader shooting, the Connecticut Lottery shooting, etc. Dr. Tracy has appeared on or consulted on presentations on television shows such as Geraldo, the Lisa Gibbons Show, Dateline, 20/20, Fox News, CNN, PBS, Montel, Maury Povich, and radio shows such as Coast to Coast, Jeff Rense, Alex Jones, etc. In the last few months she has been in contact with several high profile television shows who are focusing on the issue of antidepressants for shows this season including Oprah, Dr. Phil and Montel. Also Dr. Tracy has recently appeared in two major film documentaries to be released this fall, one by nutritionist Gary Null which also contains interviews with Michael Moore and Neil Bush agreeing on the subject of the horrors of drugging our children. And another by a five time Emmy Award winning Hollywood producer. This past year the FDA has actually been forced to publicly agree with Dr. Tracy on several issues regarding the serious dangers of antidepressants. They have placed the strongest warnings on the drugs next to banning them - a black box warning pointing out the DOUBLING of suicide attempts while taking any antidepressant. Along with that warning came warnings of worsening of depression in the initial use, and suicide attempt, mania and hostility with any abrupt change in dose whether it be up or down. _____________ Ann Blake Tracy, Ph.D., Executive Director, International Coalition For Drug Awareness Website: www.drugawareness.org Author: Prozac: Panacea or Pandora? - Our Serotonin Nightmare & CD or audio tape on safe withdrawal: " Help!
