Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have a question re:facial numbness. A friend of mine had a bad headache behind her right eye.At first,we both thought it might be sinus related and she used asaprin and a decongestant, which helpedsome but did not take all the pain away.a hot water bottle helped alot. Then ,after a couple days, the headache subsided and a small area of numbness was felt under her eye a couple inches and towards the cheekbone but not exactly on it.The area of numbness has increase a bit each day and goes from right under the eye and extending to the right side of the nose and down to the upper outer right corner of the lip and beyond a bit and to the cheekbone. It does not look swollen and the facial muscles themselves seem to work. The eye does not droop nor is vision impaired and she has full range of expression(can raise eyebrow,frown,smile,wince,etc...). So,what might be causing this and what can get rid of it? Thanks for any thoughts on this. Judy

Guest guest
Facial Numbness can be cause by lesions in the Brain. Thalamus, in the brain stem, in the trigeminal nerve. The lesion can be a tumor if it is growing. It can also be due to TMJ. RON www.cidpusa.org Where diseases are cured.
Guest guest
I have the exact same problem. An MRI came up negative so my Dr. thinks it is facial tension and that I am clenching my teeth as I sleep which is causing this. She recommended focusing on relaxing that area and using a mouthguard at night. , " ummcamelia " <ummcamelia wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > I have a question re:facial numbness. Guest guest
I agree with Anne that this could be Bell's Palsy. It can last for a while but does go away. Sometimes there is drooping of the eye or mouth. I would suggest a possible migraine as migraine pain is very typically on one side of the face and very often behind the eye and extending into the sinus cavity. But with migraines any numbness that might occur usually goes away with the migraine. Also, migraines are not isolated incidents. If you have one, you usually have others though with time they can stop occurring which thankfully happened with me. Guest guest
facial tension can actully be a symnpton of A Defiency of Vitamin B6; as i discussed in my previous e-mail; where another concured on Bell's Palsey which thankfully is also treated with Vit. B6/B-Complex Grinding of the teeth is related to Defiency of Folate; a B-vitamin. I would try a good Vitamin B-Complex daily pill; 50 mgs. or 100mgs. You could add a single Vit. B6 100 mgs.;or Brewer's Yeast/ Rice Bran. , " marlaprendergast " <kws11 wrote: > > I have the exact same problem. Guest guest
Judy, I am at a loss. The first things that come to mind are Bell's Palsy, a mini-stroke, a migraine, etc. but the symptoms don't really fit. Maybe sinus infection....any fever?
