Guest guest
I've been taking Armour Thyroid for about 4 weeks. Any information about pros and cons of this?
Guest guest
I have seen great improvements in my clients that take Armour over Synthroid. Armour is natural and does not shut down the thryoid which synthetics have been found to do. It nourishes and supports instead. Guest guest
I assume " Armour Thyroid " is a drug prescribed by your doctor? The reason you are having thyroid problems is NOT because you have a lack of a certain drug in your system. It is because your body is out of balance and you are full of toxins. Here is a great article that addresses thyroid problems: Addressing Thyroid related health disorders: Sometimes (most often is more accurate) the thyroid gland and in general the glandular system takes over the burden of detoxification (internal cleaning) when the regular channels of elimination are overburdened. So, number one on the " to do " list with a thyroid problem is to pay attention to and help your detoxification organs (intestinal tract, liver, kidneys, and lungs) to function at full effectiveness. Doing this job will assist in relieving any detoxification burden on your thyroid gland that can be relieved. To explain the above concept further, here's an example of how the detoxification system is related to the glandular system. It is a well known medical fact, that certain forms of harmful bacteria can produce toxic substances in the intestinal tract. These toxic substances travel to the liver from the intestines and impair the liver's ability to manufacture and utilize T3 (T3 is a relative of thyroxin and it helps regulate the speed of metabolism in the tissues). Friendly bacteria are very important to stop harmful bacteria from producing these toxic substances. As a result of repopulating your intestinal tract with potent friendly bacteria, your liver should have an increased ability to function normally and this could indirectly support your thyroid gland. When you choose your friendly bacteria supplements, make sure they are microblended with a whole food rich in minerals such as: acidophilus (http://tinyurl.com/24ajq) and bifidus (http://tinyurl.com/26rur) microblended with kelp or blue green algae. The minerals in these sea vegetables enables the friendly bacteria to increase their speed of multiplication in the gut and will also increase the total number of organisms (friendly bacteria) that will eventually flourish in your intestines. Number two in the " to do " list is to make sure you're getting enough minerals in your diet (iodine, iron and selenium). In the past, doctors used to think that a deficiency of iodine alone was a cause of the dysfunction of the thyroid gland. But it is known today that selenium is critical in activating an enzyme responsible for controlling thyroid function. However, taking isolated iodine and selenium supplements is not a good idea because humans require only a few micrograms of these nutrients each day to meet normal needs. Too much of either of these minerals can produce toxicity. It is best to find foods high in these minerals: Blue green algae, dulse, kelp and other sea vegetables are high in iodine and selenium. When consumed as part of a whole food, these minerals can be assimilated and utilized for thyroid hormone synthesis by your body without fear of toxicity. Other diatery recommendations: & #9679; Enzyme Therapy: (http://tinyurl.com/ey8l) Since the endocrine glands are driven by digested foods. Correcting any digestive problems with the use of digestive enzymes is a good idea. & #9679; Coconut oil is the most healthy saturated fat for the endocrine glands. Raw butter is as good. Coconut oil stimulates thyroid function and thus promotes weight loss in those who are overweight. & #9679; Fruits and fruits smoothies are important to help modulate blood sugar and calm the adrenal glands and normalize production of thyroid hormone. & #9679; Carrots' fiber tones the bowel, binds toxins and reduces the reabsorption of estrogen. & #9679; Do not drink tap water. Some city water contains organic hydrocarbons which could result in blocking the activity of thyroid hormones. Make sure you drink only spring water. & #9679; Simplify your diet. Eat the following for a period of three months: salmon, eggs (boiled), yams, fruits, and vegetables (juice parsley, celery, carrots and apples), brown rice, seeds and nuts, coconut butter or coconut oil for cooking. & #9679; Supplements use is important: 300 to 400 mg. of CoQ10 (http://tinyurl.com/f1f7) (daily for three months). Plus for the long term, food enzymes with meals, friendly bacteria, wheat sprouts (http://tinyurl.com/6vxtu) and blue green algae supplements (http://tinyurl.com/g1iz) Following this plan, you're likely to see the potential of great improvement without the use of medications. The question is: How are YOU feeling? If you are feeling better, then this is the right thing for you. I know some people who are totally into natural everything, eat seaweed and all that, and still need medical thyroid support. Are you familiar with Mary Shomon's website? Everything you wanted to know about thyroid issues and were afraid to ask. http://thyroid.about.com Once you are there, don't miss the interview with Dr. Viana Muller about Maca, a root from the Andes that helps both over-and under-active glands. Guest guest
I work with clients who have Spinal Stenosis, including my DH. We use stress reduction and balancing, including pain managment and deep muscle relaxation to manage and improve pain and symptoms. This also works for allergies and endocrine dysfunctions. My DH is now walking without a cane. He was told 15 years ago he would be in a wheel chair by age 60. That is no longer going to be the case. His arthritis improves more everyday. What did he do? Changed his diet, his daily routine and uses both Quantum Biofeedback and Theta Healing. Guest guest
Hello, thank you for your response. Armour Thyroid was a prescription I had to really fight to get from my doctor. They tend to bash anything that's natural and I fought and fought to be taken off the artificial crap and get prescribed this, which I had investigated was on the formulary. I am also looking for ways to complement this but am open to an opportunity to do the most holistic, natural approach available, which is why I'm here. , " Carol " <carol wrote: > > I assume " Armour Thyroid " is a drug prescribed by your doctor? Guest guest
Thank you for your reply. I do feel better and I was able to start losing weight after this was out of control no matter how 'little' I ate. I checked out the web site and also found some data on Maca. I'm not sure if I found the interview you mentioned. I get apprehensive in adding different herbs and vitamins that I then stop taking. I need motivation and is one of the reasons I'm here. I really welcome and appreciate all imput. The overwhelm of information out there is frustrating. So where do I begin? , " Ieneke van Houten " <ienvan wrote: > > normanarauz asked: > > I've been taking Armour Thyroid for about 4 weeks.
