Is earth on a countdown to an apocalypse

We hope not. We believe that it is vitally urgent for President Bush

to immediately take out the weapons of mass destruction in the hands

of the lunatcis in so-called Iran, a.k.a. Persia, as well as their

partners in crime in Syria and which may also now be in the hands of

Hezbollah, Hamas, et.al.

Iran's Day of Terror?

By Robert Spencer

FrontPageMagazine.com | July 27, 2006

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has frustrated Western

officials by refusing to reply to their offer of various incentives

in exchange for Iran's discarding its nuclear program until August

22. The Western governments had asked Ahmadinejad to reply by June

29; why would Tehran need two extra months?

Farid Ghadry, the president of the Reform Party of Syria, has

offered a provocative explanation for this delay. He asserts that

the Supreme National Security Council of Iran chose the August 22

date " for a very precise reason. August 21, 2006 (Rajab 27, 1427) is

known in the Islamic calendar as the Night of the Sira'a and

Miira'aj, the night Prophet Mohammed (saas) ascended to heaven from

the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on a Bourak (Half animal, half man),

while a great light lit-up the night sky, and visited Heaven and

Hell also Beit al-Saada and Beit al-Shaqaa (House of Happiness and

House of Misery) and then descended back to Mecca.… "

The Night Journey, or Miraj, is central to Islam's claim to

Jerusalem as an Islamic holy city. According to Islamic tradition,

Muhammad was carried on a Buraq, a miraculous horse with a human

head, from Mecca to Jerusalem, where he ascended into heaven and met

the other prophets. The only thing the Qur'an has to say about it is

this: " Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by

night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts

We did bless, in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for

He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things) " (17:1). There is

no identification of the " farthest Mosque " with any mosque in

Jerusalem in this, but the Hadith is very clear on the

identification of its location with Jerusalem.

The traditions say that Muhammad and the Buraq, along with the angel

Gabriel, went to the Temple Mount, and from there to heaven itself,

where Muhammad encountered various prophets. In the sixth heaven was

Moses, occasioning a dig at the Jews. " When I left him, " Muhammad

says, " he wept. Someone asked him, `What makes you weep?' Moses

said, `I weep because after me there has been sent (Muhammad as a

Prophet) a young man, whose followers will enter Paradise in greater

numbers than my followers.' "

Evidently, however, Muhammad's stories of his journey were not

altogether convincing: even some of the Muslims abandoned their

faith and challenged Muhammad's most faithful follower, Abu Bakr, to

do the same. Abu Bakr was contemptuous: " If he says so then it is

true. And what is so surprising in that? He tells me that

communications from God from heaven to earth come to him in an hour

of a day or night and I believe him, and that is more extraordinary

than that at which you boggle! " The world has continued to witness

such unshakeable devotion from Muslims to this day.

Did Muhammad really go anywhere? According to his favorite wife,

Aisha, he did not: " The apostle's body remained where it was but God

removed his spirit by night. " Nevertheless, the Night Journey has

become firmly embedded in the Islamic consciousness, such that

Muslims today celebrate it as one of the central events of

Muhammad's life. And now, according to Ghadry, Ahmadinejad is

planning an illumination of the night sky over Jerusalem to rival

the one that greeted the Prophet of Islam on his journey. What the

Iranian President, he says, is " promising the world by August 22 is

the light in the sky over the Aqsa Mosque that took place the night

before. That is his answer to the package of incentives the

international community offered Iran on June 6. "

Certainly a nuclear attack on Jerusalem or even an all-out

conventional assault against Israel by Iran would be consistent with

Ahmadinejad's oft-repeated denials of Israel's right to exist and

recent predictions that its demise was at hand. He hinted at the use

of nuclear weapons in his phrasing when he said that Israel " pushed

the button of its own destruction " by finally retaliating against

Hizballah's relentless rocket barrage from south Lebanon.

" Arrogant powers, " Ahmadinejad said, " have set up a base for

themselves to threaten and plunder nations in the region. But today,

the occupier regime " – that is, Israel – " whose philosophy is based

on threats, massacre and invasion, has reached its finishing line. "

Will he attempt to make good on these threats this year on the

anniversary of the Miraj, illuminating the night sky over Jerusalem?

Will Western powers heed Farid Ghadry's words and move to stop Iran

before it is too late?

New York Times 'used fraudulent photo'

Man seen 'dead' in Beirut photo essay appears in other photos from

A man who appeares to be playing dead in a New York Times photo

essay entitled " attack in Tyre, " is seen in other photographs in the

same essay walking around and pointing.

Under the caption of the photo in question, the New York Times

wrote: " The mayor of Tyre said that in the worst hit areas, bodies

were still buried under the rubble, and he appealed to the Israelis

to allow government authorities time to pull them out. "

something to the photographer. "

The blog notes that the same man can also be seen " again scrambling

over debris in photo no. 3 and no. 4 . "

In other questions on media images, US commentator Michelle Malkin

notes that the US News magazine's front cover picture of a Hizbullah

gunman standing in front of a blaze, part of a piece

entitled " Lebanon's new ruins, " is actually a photograph taken near

garbage dump.

The photo was taken by former disgraced Reuters photographer Adnan

Hajj.

Meanwhile, Reuters, at the center of a number of controversies

collectively dubbed 'Reutersgage,' has faced fresh questions over

its photographs, after an image attributed to Hajj has also been

credited by Reuters to a different photographer, Issam Kobeisi.

The My Pet Jawa blog asks : " Is Adnan Hajj two people? "

" Is it possible that Reuters is sending two checks to Adnan Hajj?

That his crimes go deeper than simple doctoring of photos? Are the

editors at Reuters that lazy that they didn't notice that one of

Hajj's photos is identical to that of Issam Kobeisi? " Asked the

blog. " Or is this just a mislabeled photo attributed to the wrong

journalist? "

Reuters has so far not responded to requests for a comment.

Questions on Qana

Blogs in the US are continuing to ask questions about images from

the Lebanese village of Qana. The Riehl World site has alleged that

Hizbullah " added to the body count of dead children there. "

" How do you introduce new bodies into the scene of a bomb strike?

The answer may be as simple as you bring them from around the

corner, " the blog said, posting a number of photographs and videos

to back up its assertion.

In one of the videos, Lebanese rescues workers are seen holding a

stretcher with a body on it, putting it down as photographers took

pictures, and then continuing onwards.

" All of these forms of fraud have the same intent: to serve as

propaganda for Hizbullah, and to make the Israeli attacks look as

brutal as possible, " concluded the Zombie Time blog .

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced of Hizbullah members issuing death

threats to journalists who attempt to film them firing rockets at

Israel.

CNN's Richard Engel reported : " At one time, when we were talking

and having a conversation with this Hizbollah representative, he

said, 'look, we're serious, we will kill you if you film these

outgoing rockets. "

A Time magazine employee also reported that " the Party of God

(Hizbullah) has a copy of every journalist's passport, and they've

already hassled a number of us and threatened one. "

http://.a7.org/.asp How the Media Enable

Terrorism by Rachel Neuwirth Sunday 6 August2006, A major

segment of the global media is behaving in a manner that makes

terrorism and mass killings more likely rather than less likely.

They enable and encourage terrorist slaughter of innocents by

providing a propaganda bonanza for the terrorist cause. Without

the gain, there would be less incentive for the horrific

behavior. This is true now with Israeli defensive measures

against Hizbullah terrorism, and has been true for many years,

especially during the long Arab-Israeli conflict. Not enough

attention has been paid to media manipulation. It is long overdue

that this be exposed and the media be confronted and held

accountable. The general public derives its perception of the

wider reality beyond direct personal experience via the media.

When the major media all sing a similar tune, the public generally

assumes it is being honestly informed. The internet and talk radio

often challenge the major media, but not everyone has the time or

interest to become well-informed on the many issues and sort

things out, especially when the alternative media also present

conflicting views of reality. The major media can spin and color

stories to suit their agenda. They can rile up the public over

certain issues or hide vital information. When the media riles up

the public, governments can feel pressured to act in one direction

or the other. All this conflicts with honest reporting. A prime

example involves a

http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/2527/press102.htm>front page

photo in the New York Times. An angry Israeli policeman is seen

brandishing his police club while standing over a bloodied man on

the ground. The Times caption reads: " An Israeli policeman and a

Palestinian on the Temple Mount. " The photo suggests a

Palestinian so badly beaten that blood was running down his face.

Publishing such an inflammatory photo had to generate extreme

outrage against Israel, and the Times had to know it. But the

caption was effectively a lie. The victim was a Jew beaten by

Arabs. The Israeli policeman was defending the victim. When the

Times was forced to retract, they did it grudgingly and then added

another lie to the story until public outrage forced them to come

clean with the real story. The action of the Times ( " All the

news that's fit to print " ) was so outrageous that a media watchdog

organization was born in response. Please go

http://www.honestreporting.com/ and see " the photo that started it

all " on the top right. Then read the details of how the New York

Times prints 'all the news that

http://world.std.com/~camera/docs/alert/nytimes.html There is no

mention that anyone at the Times was punished. If the once-

prestigious New York Times can be so deceptive, then we are now in

a new era of extreme media dishonesty and we must be extra

vigilant. In the Arab-Israeli conflict, Israel's Arab enemies

long ago developed an effective way to promote anti-Jewish terror

and win the public relations battle in the process. Yasser Arafat

early on employed the tactic of shooting at Jews from behind Arab

women and children, who were used as shields. The Israelis were

caught in a dilemma. Not to fire back meant being helpless to

respond to the ongoing slaughter of Jews, but to fire back meant

unavoidable loss of Arab civilians, including children. And that,

with a complicit media conveniently present (by appointment?) to

see and film, and later to edit. The resulting story would

emphasize the retaliation over the provocation, making it seem as

if Israel was deliberately targeting Arab civilians. Reality would

be a product manufactured to suit. This tactic required the

willingness of Arab leaders to deliberately sacrifice many Arab

civilians in the process of attacking Israel. Many Arabs have long

been brainwashed via their schools, their media and their mosques

to see Israelis, and even all Jews, as monsters bent on their

destruction. This made it easier to keep them compliant with these

tactics. Also, any Arabs who objected could be killed. In Lebanon

today, Hizbullah is employing the same tactic. Their rocket

attacks often originate from within civilian areas, which will

assure http://eureferendum.blogspot.com/2006/07/milking-

it.html>civilian casualties. They, and their supporters, accuse

Israel of deliberately targeting civilians. If Israel really

wanted to target civilians, then it would not take a full week of

intensive bombing to kill 250 people. Many in the media have now

joined the chorus of " disproportionate response " and " targeting of

civilians. " They call, in effect, for a one-sided ceasefire,

wherein Israel ceases and Hizbullah remains free to `fire'. It

would help if Israel and her friends would make it clear to all

that Israel only targets sources of aggression. But the media, by

their skewed reporting, is making it politically profitable for

Hizbullah to locate rocket launchers in the midst of civilian

areas. This reinforces the Hizbullah tactics and increases the

civilian death toll. The major media are thus directly complicit

in enabling this tactic to continue and for more Lebanese

civilians to be killed. If the major media would tell the whole

truth and place the blame entirely on the Hizbullah terrorists,

then it would no longer be politically profitable to continue this

tactic. (People who care might communicate to the media on this

and even send them a copy of this article as back-up.) It would

also help greatly if Israel would explain more clearly that: 1.

It makes great efforts to not attack innocent civilians. 2. It

will target every rocket launcher, no matter where it is located,

and it is the responsibility of Hizbullah and the Lebanese to

remove civilians from that area. It would also help if the

American Jewish leadership would finally wake up and show the

complicity and culpability of the US media in the killing of

Lebanese civilians. This would at least take the political and

public relations profit out of terrorism. The Jihad Against JoeNew

http://www.nysun.com/article/37615To what do the attacks on Mr.

Lieberman speak? As far as we can tell, to no concern more noble

than anti-Semitism and racism, with a smattering of anti-Bush

paranoia mixed in for taste. Just consider the rantings that have

been directed at the senator in the left-wing blogosphere, as

recounted by Democratic strategist Lanny Davis in yesterday's Wall

Street Journal. One commenter on the influential blog DailyKos.com

wrote, " as everybody knows, jews ONLY care about the welfare of

other jews; thanks ever so much for reminding everyone of this most

salient fact, so that we might better ignore all that jewish

propaganda [by Lieberman] about participating in the civil rights

movement of the 60s and so on. " Or this: " Ned Lamont and his

supporters need to [g]et real busy. Ned needs to beat Lieberman to a

pulp in the debate and define what it means to be an AMerican who is

NOT beholden to the Israeli Lobby. " Even so, holding hateful opinions

and acting on them are two different things. The question now is

whether supporters of Mr. Lieberman's opponent crossed that line. It

certainly seems suspicious that Mr. Lieberman's campaign Web site

would crash just hours before polling, taking with it the campaign's

e-mail service including the ability to send get-out-the-vote

messages to voters' inboxes. The opponent, Ned Lamont, has denied

any responsibility, but that doesn't rule out his renegade

supporters, one of whom had already attracted attention last week

for circulating a caricature of Mr. Lieberman in black-face. Given

that the rhetoric Mr. Lieberman's opponents have been spewing is

better suited to a Klan meeting than a senatorial primary, the

senator is certainly justified in being suspicious that something

more than a mere computer glitch is at work.Time and an

investigation will tell, and Mr. Lieberman has already contacted law

enforcement authorities to launch an inquiry. It deserves to be

pursued ruthlessly, while voters and pundits alike will be looking

to the result of yesterday's polling for an indication of where the

Democratic Party is headed. Whatever that indication is, it will be

hard to forget how we have come to this pass. Democrats can no

longer avoid the question of whether they want to be increasingly

beholden to entrepreneurs in bigotry who are purveyors of the oldest

hatred and who approach politics with a perverse fervor and will

stop at no dirty trick to stifle opposing points of view. Except for

a few like Lanny Davis, the response of the party leaders has been

decidedly lame. Iran Plans Answer on Nuclear

In Iran, Arming for Armageddon

By Charles Krauthammer

Washington Post | December 20, 2005

Lest you get carried away with the recent good news from Iraq,

consider what's

happening next door in Iran. The wild pronouncements of the new

Iranian

president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have gotten sporadic press ever

since he called

for Israel to be wiped off the map. He subsequently amended himself

to say that

Israel should simply be extirpated from the Middle East map and

moved to some

German or Austrian province. Perhaps near the site of an old

extermination camp?

Except that there were no such camps, indeed no Holocaust at all,

says

Ahmadinejad. Nothing but " myth, " a " legend " that

was " fabricated . . . under the

name 'Massacre of the Jews.' " This brought the usual reaction from

European and

American officials, who, with Churchillian rage and power, called

these

statements unacceptable. That something serious might accrue to Iran

for this --

say, expulsion from the United Nations for violating its most basic

principle by

advocating the outright eradication of a member state -- is, of

course, out of

the question.

To be sure, Holocaust denial and calls for Israel's destruction are

commonplace

in the Middle East. They can be seen every day on Hezbollah TV, in

Syrian media,

in Egyptian editorials appearing in semiofficial newspapers. But

none of these

aspiring mass murderers are on the verge of acquiring nuclear

weapons that could

do in one afternoon what it took Hitler six years to do: destroy an

entire

Jewish civilization and extinguish 6 million souls.

Everyone knows where Iran's nuclear weapons will be aimed. Everyone

knows they

will be put on Shahab rockets, which have been modified so that they

can reach

Israel. And everyone knows that if the button is ever pushed, it

will be the end

of Israel.

But it gets worse. The president of a country about to go nuclear is

a confirmed

believer in the coming apocalypse. Like Judaism and Christianity,

Shiite Islam

has its own version of the messianic return -- the reappearance of

the Twelfth

Imam. The more devout believers in Iran pray at the Jamkaran mosque,

which

houses a well from which, some believe, he will emerge.

When Ahmadinejad unexpectedly won the presidential elections, he

immediately

gave $17 million of government funds to the shrine. Last month

Ahmadinejad said

publicly that the main mission of the Islamic Revolution is to pave

the way for

the reappearance of the Twelfth Imam.

And as in some versions of fundamentalist Christianity, the second

coming will

be accompanied by the usual trials and tribulations, death and

destruction.

Iranian journalist Hossein Bastani reported Ahmadinejad saying in

official

meetings that the hidden imam will reappear in two years.

So a Holocaust-denying, virulently anti-Semitic, aspiring

genocidist, on the

verge of acquiring weapons of the apocalypse, believes that the end

is not only

near but nearer than the next American presidential election. (Pity

the

Democrats. They cannot catch a break.) This kind of man would have,

to put it

gently, less inhibition about starting Armageddon than a normal

person. Indeed,

with millennial bliss pending, he would have positive incentive to,

as they say

in Jewish eschatology, hasten the end....

The closest we've come to a messianically inclined leader in America

was a

secretary of the interior who 24 years ago, when asked about his

stewardship of

the environment, told Congress: " I do not know how many future

generations we

can count on before the Lord returns; whatever it is we have to

manage with a

skill to leave the resources needed for future generations. " But

James Watt's

domain was the forest, and his weapon of choice was the chainsaw. He

was not in

charge of nuclear weapons to be placed on missiles that are paraded

through the

streets with, literally, Israel's name on them. (They are adorned

with banners

reading " Israel must be wiped off the map. " ) It gets worse. After

his U.N.

speech in September, Ahmadinejad was caught on videotape telling a

cleric that

during the speech an aura, a halo, appeared around his head right on

the podium

of the General Assembly. " I felt the atmosphere suddenly change. And

for those

27 or 28 minutes, the leaders of the world did not blink. . . . It

seemed as if

a hand was holding them there, and it opened their eyes to receive

the message

from the Islamic Republic. "

Negotiations to deny this certifiable lunatic genocidal weapons have

been going

nowhere. Everyone knows they will go nowhere. And no one will do

anything about

it.

UNMANNED HIZBULLAH DRONE SHOT DOWN BY IAF

The Israel Air Force shot down an unmanned Hizbullah drone over

Israeli

territorial waters on Monday evening near the Krayot suburbs north

of

Haifa.

Israel Air Force Brig.-Gen. Locker said that the drone was picked up

early by a northern radar station and was downed northwest of Haifa.

According to a Channel 10 TV report, the drone (also known as

" pilot-less aircraft, or PAC " ) shot down by the IAF was carrying 45

kilograms of

explosives. Air force officials denied the report and insisted the

drone was not carrying explosives.

The IDF has been waiting for such an opportunity, said a source

quoted

by Army Radio. The terrorist organization sent drones over Israeli

airspace twice in the past year, with both returning to Lebanese

territory

unharmed.

Israel often uses PACs to gather intelligence and check progress of

IDF

troops during battles with terrorists. Hizbullah sent its first

unmanned drone, the " Mirsad 1 " over Israeli territory two years ago,

in

November 2004.

" You can load the Mirsad plane with a quantity of explosives ranging

from 40 to 50 kilos [88-110 lbs –ed.] and send it to its target, "

said

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Nov. 2004. " Do you want a power

plant, water plant, military base? Anything! "

SYRIAN SUCK-UP TO THUGS: USE US AT YOUR PLEASURE

Reuters

BEIRUT - Syria's foreign minister offered yesterday to join

Hezbollah, and said his country's army had standing orders to

respond immediately to any Israeli attacks.

" If you wish, I'm ready to be a soldier at the disposal of

[Hezbollah chief] Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, " Walid Moallem told

reporters on his arrival in Lebanon.

Asked about concerns that the war in Lebanon could spill over into a

regional war, Moallem said, " Most welcome. "

" Syria is readying itself and doesn't hide its [military] readiness.

We will respond to any Israeli aggression immediately, " he added.

Moallem said later, after talks with President Emile Lahoud, " If

Israel attacks Syria by any means, on the ground, in the air, our

leadership ordered the armed forces to reply immediately. "

Moallem, the first senior Syrian official to visit Lebanon since

Syria ended three decades of military presence in April of last

year, criticized a U.S.-French draft of a U.N. Security Council

resolution to end the war.

" This draft resolution is a description for the continuation of the

war because, unfortunately, it's not fair for Lebanon, therefore

it's a plan for the possibility of the eruption of civil war in

Lebanon and nobody, nobody, nobody has anything to gain from that

happening, except Israel, " said the veteran diplomat, who will

attend an Arab foreign ministers' meeting in Beirut today.

Syria, with Iran, is a key backer of Hezbollah.

Reuters admits to more image manipulation

News organization withdraws photograph of Israeli fighter jet,

admits image was doctored, fires photographer. Reuters

pledges 'tighter editing procedure for images of the Middle East

conflict'

Yaakov Lappin

Reuters has withdrawn a second photograph and admitted that the

image was doctored, following the emergence of new suspicions

against images provided by the news organization. On Sunday, Reuters

admitted that one of its photographers, Adnan Hajj, used software to

distort an image of smoke billowing from buildings in Beirut in

order to create the effect of more smoke and damage.

The latest image to face doubts is a photograph of an Israeli F-16

fighter jet over the skies of Lebanon, seen in the image firing

off " missiles during an air strike on Nabatiyeh, " according to the

image's accompanying text provided by Reuters.

Reuters has recalled all photos by Adnan Hajj

Rusty Shackleford, owner of the My Pet Jawa web log , noted that the

warplane in the picture is actually firing defensive flares aimed at

dealing with anti-aircraft missiles.

Caught Red Handed

Reuters admits altering Beirut photo / Yaakov Lappin

Reuters withdraws photograph of Beirut after Air Force attack after

US blogs, photographers point out 'blatant evidence of

manipulation.'

Full Story

In addition, Shackelford says the flares have been replicated by

Reuters, giving the impression that the jet was firing

many " missiles, " thereby distortion the image.

" The F-16 in the photo is not firing missiles, but is rather

dropping chaffe or flares designed to be a decoy for surface to air

missiles. However, a close up (of) what Hajj calls " missiles "

reveals that only one flare has been dropped. The other two " flares "

are simply copies of the original, " Shackleford wrote. " But what

about the 'bombs' in the photo? Here is a close up of them. Notice

anything? That's right. The top and bottom " bomb " are the same. "

Another manipuated Reuters image

Following the accusations, Reuters conceded that a second image it

provided had been manipulated, and released a statement saying it

had recalled all photos by Hajj. " Reuters has withdrawn from its

database all photographs taken by Beirut-based freelance Adnan Hajj

after establishing that he had altered two images since the start of

the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese Hizbullah group, " the

statement said.

The news outlet said that it discovered " in the last 24 hours that

he (Hajj) altered two photographs since the beginning of the

conflict between Israel and the Lebanese group Hizbullah, " Reuters

added.

" There is no graver breach of Reuters standards for our

photographers than the deliberate manipulation of an image " ,

Reuters' statement quoted Tom Szlukovenyi, Reuters Global Picture

Editor, as saying.

'Tighter editing needed'

Reuters also said it would apply " tighter editing procedure for

images of the Middle East conflict to ensure that no photograph from

the region would be transmitted to rs without review by the

most senior editor on the Reuters Global Pictures Desk. "

" Reuters terminated its relationship with Hajj on Sunday... An

immediate enquiry began into Hajj's other work, " the statement said.

Hajj had provided Reuters with several images from the Lebanese

village of Qana, many of which have also been suspected of being

staged .

Other Reuters images have been called into question by blogs in the

United States.

A reader of the Power Line blog , Robert Opalecky, wrote: " I don't

know if this has been brought to anyone's attention yet, but in a

quick search of the authenticated Reuters photographs attributed to

Adnan Hajj, I found the following two. "

The first Reuters image of July 24

" One is from July 24 of a bombed out area in Beirut, with a clearly

identifiable building in a prominent part of the shot. The second is

of the exact same area, same buildings, same condition, with a woman

walking past " a building flattened during an overnight Israeli air

raid on Beirut's suburbs August 5, 2006, " he wrote.

Reuters' second 'Beirut attack' photo, dated August 5

A film released on the YouTube video sharing website compares the

two images, and appears to show striking similarities between the

photograph used by Reuters on both July 24 and August 5.

Israel is waging a just struggle against terror and the brutal murder

of civilians. The least we can demand of the nation's premier

newspaper is to present the news of that war in a fair, balanced and

unbiased way. The NewYork Times is simply not telling the truth about

Israel. It is our responsibility to tell the truth to The Times.

The Israel Defense Forces are fighting the forces of terror. But

equally important is the battle for the hearts and minds of the

public.

GUIDELINES FOR THE NEW YORK TIMES BOYCOTT

(please read carefully and distribute)

1.It is imperative that everyone who boycotts the New York Times (and

everyone else), responds to Times' distortions on a

regular, preferably daily, basis.

2.In order to respond, each person must find a way to read the Times.

This can be done by:

a.accessing the Times on the WEB or

b.organizing a media response group and designating a member to e-

mail

Israel articles to other members or

c.having someone xerox Times' Israel articles and distribute them

within your organization or workplace

1.Boycotts should not be pursued lightly - they can work in both

directions. Israel suffers from Arab and European

boycotts.

a.Therefore, the reasons for the boycott should be made crystal clear

- distortions (see list below), not legitimate

criticism. b.To be effective, a boycott should be carried out for a

specific period, not indefinitely. c.A boycott is not a " feel good "

way to avoid responsibility for fighting the media war.

1.Calls, e-mails and letters/faxes should make a specific point, be

in

your own words - not a form letter - and should be

selling your points, never insulting. Always ask for a response.

Communicate with editors and journalists. Initiate a

dialogue and then followup. Educate. Check The Jerusalem Post

(jpost.com) for balanced coverage. See Myths & Facts

by Mitchell Bard (us-israel.org) for background info. For NYTimes

analyses: go to honestreporting.com, camera.org;

Be alert for the following types of anti-Israel distortions:

1.false symmetries - " cycle of violence, the violence, intifada, the

conflict, GENOCIDE bombers " rather than so-called " palestinian "

terrorism and

Israeli self defense; Sharon vs Arafat; intentional murder vs

collateral damage; body counts; so-called " palestinian " police state

vs Israeli

democracy 2.double standards - Israel overreacts vs America fights

back in war on terrorism; concern for Muslim but not Jewish holy

sites; " Israeli Kill 6 so-called " palestinians " vs " bomb kills 6 " ;

publicity to

American victims of terror, not Israeli victims;

3.inversions -Israelis turned into aggressors; publicity to homicide

bombers rather than Israeli victims; Sharon, not Arafat called

" hard-line " ; " moderate " Arab states 4.omissions - virulent

so-called " palestinian " /Arab) anti-Semitism on TV, in schools,

mosques, etc.;

Arafat and so-called " PA " conspiracy theories; so-called " PA " and

Arab States as

the real

oppressors of so-called " palestinian " people; for Hamas, etc., all

of Israel is

" occupied territory " ; rewards to homicide bomber families; so-called

" palestinian " terrorism not reported as violations of Oslo; normal

life in

Israel, Israeli democracy; lack of independence for journalists in

the

territories; propagandistic " reporting " by Al Jazeera; shameless

editorializing of European " news " 5.half truths, inaccuracies -

implied Israeli aggression in 1967; " right " of return (there is no

" right " );

6.language - terrorists called " assailants, militants, gunmen,

activists " (language of Israeli officials changed)

7.imbalance in number of articles, pictures, op eds; editorializing

pictures; others…….

Regarding your picture on page A5 (Sept. 30) of the Israeli soldier

and the so-called " palestinian " on the Temple Mount - that so-called

" palestinian " is actually

my son, Tuvia Grossman, a Jewish student from Chicago. He, and two of

his friends, were pulled from their taxicab while travelling in

Jerusalem, by a mob of so-called " palestinian " Arabs and were

severely beaten

and

stabbed. That picture could not have been taken on the Temple Mount

because there are no gas stations on the Temple Mount and certainly

none with Hebrew lettering, like the one clearly seen behind the

Israeli soldier attempting to protect my son from the mob.

Dear Editor,

Even the typically biased and slanted NY Times middle east reporting

has hit a new low. Since the Times

wishes to convey the belief that the so-called " palestinians " are

all innocent

lambs being tormented by an aggressive

oppressor, it can not even conceive that the wounded and injured are

NOT so-called " palestinians " . The current case in

point is very personal to me. In the Saturday's Times on page A6, the

picture of the " wounded so-called " palestinian " is, in

fact, my nephew, Tuvia Grossman, an AMERICAN Jewish student learning

in Israel. His only crime was being

Jewish. He was not in " crossfire " but merely the target of so-called

" palestinian "

lambs who stoned his cab, dragged him

from the vehicle, smashed his head with stones and stabbed him in the

leg. The Israeli soldier, whom you

obviously wished to portray as victimizing the poor, wounded

so-called " palestinian " was actually saving my

nephew's life. A casual look at the background of the picture can

tell

anyone that it's not the Temple Mount at

all!

I believe that a retraction, in a prominent position in the paper, is

necessary and an apology to the parents, forthcoming.

Colin Powell

SECRETARY OF STATE (2001-2005)

Time Warner; Gulfstream Aerospace; General Dynamics

· Personal Finances

Colin Powell announced after the 2004 elections that he was stepping

down. He was replaced by Condoleezza Rice.

As a civilian, Colin Powell served on two corporate boards:

Gulfstream Aerospace and America Online (which later merged with

Time Warner). Gulfstream Aerospace makes specialty jets for

Hollywood movie stars and for foreign governments, like Kuwait and

Saudi Arabia—two countries Powell got to know well in his role as

chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Persian Gulf War.

The company was bought out by defense contractor General Dynamics in

1999. The former general also earned a windfall when AOL merged with

Time Warner in 2001. His stock in the company reportedly increased

in value by $4 million, although the stock of both companies

plummeted within a few years of the deal. Powell's son, Michael, was

the only commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission who

advocated letting the AOL-Time Warner deal go through without

scrutiny. President Bush eventually named Michael Powell chairman of

the FCC.

Clearly control of American media cannot be entrusted to those

hostile to America. We were horrified to see important Fox News

people turn on a dime,

and go from exposing the Dubai Ports Deals, to supporting them.

What was behind the sudden turnaround at Fox? Was it support for

President Bush? Or, frighteningly, was it directed by something else

entirely?

How could Fox's Bill O'Reilly, for example, go from someone who had

been talking for show after show about border security, to someone

who endorsed the Dubai Ports Deals? What did that endorsement do to

O'Reilly's credibility? What sort of spin was that?

It might seem from glancing at the situation that Ailes'

relationship to the Bush Family and the support of important Fox

people for President Bush motivated important Fox people to support

the Dubai Ports Deal. But what if it was something else entirely?

We are quite concerned about

the situation at Fox, which sees the embattled Rupert

Murdoch fighting off what may be a takeover attempt by tycoon John

Malone

with the assistance, (at what price???), of Saudi Prince Alwaleed

bin Talal.

Fox is critical in a media dominated by appeasers of arab

terrorists. If Murdoch ends up paying the price of sacrificing Fox's

support for the war against terror, in order to keep Talal's

support, who will be left to bring the anti-appeasement message to

the American people?

Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, the world's fifth-richest man, has

declared he

is ready at any time to raise his stake in Rupert Murdoch's News

Corp to protect

existing management from any takeover attempt by Murdoch rival John

Malone.

Prince Alwaleed was commenting on his holdings in News Corp,

Citigroup and Time

Warner during an interview on Sunday at the Hotel George V in Paris "

(Note not

part of article being quoted

the hotel is owned by the prince.)

" On efforts by Mr Malone's Liberty Media to take control of News

Corp and Mr

Murdoch's controversial poison pill defence, he said: " Eventually

this thing

will just have to go away. It's not worth the fight with the

shareholders or the media. There's no need for it.

" If we need to raise our stake in News Corp, it's something we're

willing to do very swiftly.

" We are always fully mobilised to come to the defence of the existing

management. We'll spend whatever is needed to keep this company

independent.

" I am not anti-Malone. I am pro-Murdoch and pro-News Corp. "

The prince owns 5.46 per cent of News Corp, which is controlled by

chairman

Rupert Murdoch, 74, and his family. Prince Alwaleed's stake is

valued at $US2.6 billion ($3.5 billion).

The prince made his last big bet on western companies in 2000 as the

internet

bubble began to deflate. That year he invested $US2 billion in 19 US

stocks,

including $US50 million each in internet companies Amazon,

DoubleClick and

Priceline. He also put $US200 million into WorldCom, which went

bankrupt in 2002.

Prince Alwaleed called the investments his " Millennium Bug " in his

authorised

biography, Alwaleed: Businessman, Billionaire, Prince, written by

former Cable

News Network host Riz Khan and published last month by William

Morrow.

On Citigroup's share price and performance he said: " Citigroup for

the last

three years has stagnated from a price point of view; clearly there

were so many clouds over what was going on at Citigroup.

" The performance of the company itself is incredible. The company

last quarter

flushed almost $US8 billion of profits. The company is doing good. "

On the significance of his ventures with Deutsche Bank and HSBC

Holdings plc:

" My alliance with HSBC is very much Africa continent-based. With

Deutsche Bank,

it only covers Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

" I go where my interests are. There's no doubt that HSBC helps us a

lot in the

African continent and Deutsche Bank will help us a lot in Saudi

Arabia and the Gulf region.

" But this will never, ever take away from my international alliance

and global link with Citigroup.

" Once we get involved in a major holding, as in Citigroup, the

likelihood of us

getting involved internationally and globally in another

international bank is remote. "

On reports that he may start an investment fund with Citigroup

chairman Sandy Weill:

" Whatever Sandy gives me I will look at very seriously. "

On the outlook for Apple Computer: " Our holding was around 5 per

cent. We are

keeping Apple as one of our core investments. We are not adding at

this stage.

" The benefit of the iPod and all that Steve Jobs has done have

already been put in the price. "

Alwaleed Bin Talal, with an estimated net worth of US $23.7 billion,

he is ranked by Forbes as the fifth richest person in the world and

nicknamed by Time magazine as Arabian Warren Buffet.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc. has found its " white knight " in its

bid to fend off a takeover by U.S. financier Carl Icahn. Toronto-

based Fairmont (TSX:FHR) has agreed to be bought by Colony Capital

and a Canadian firm owned by Kingdom Hotels International.

Kingdom is owned by Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal

Abdulaziz Alsaud, one of the richest men in the world.

Kingdom and Colony will pay $45 US per share in cash for Fairmont.

Their bid is worth $3.9 billion US, including assumed debt. Kingdom

already owns just less than 3.9 million Fairmont shares.

The board of directors of Fairmont has recommended that shareholders

accept the Kingdom/Colony bid.

" This transaction is the ideal means of delivering significant,

immediate value to the company's current shareholders while

preserving this Canadian- based company and establishing a solid

platform from which to grow, " said Peter Godsoe, chairman of

Fairmont's board of directors.

Shares of Fairmont were up 26 cents at $50.70 on the TSX, while the

stock rose 45 cents to $44.27 US on the NYSE.

Icahn bid $40 US per share for majority control Fairmont in

December. Icahn had 9.3 per cent of Fairmont's stock at the time and

was seeking to buy another 41 per cent. Fairmont's board rejected

Icahn's offer, prompting him to say he was considering a bid for all

of the company.

Under the terms of their offer for Fairmont, Kingdom and Colony plan

to combine the hotel chain with the Raffles hotel chain already held

by Colony. Raffles owns and manages 33 properties primarily across

Asia and Europe, while Fairmont owns and operates 87 hotels in

Canada, the United States, Mexico, Bermuda, Barbados, the U.K.,

Monaco, Kenya and the United Arab Emirates. "

It looks like our worst nightmarish fears about Fox may be coming

true. We hope

this is not the case, but is Fox being dictated

to by Saudi Prince al-Walid bin Talal?

What do you think?

" Saudi Tells Fox How to Report the News (Middle East Online-UK)

Billionaire Saudi Prince al-Walid bin Talal on Monday told the Arab

and World

Media Conference in Dubai that during last month's street protests

in France,

the U.S. Fox television network - owned by Rupert Murdoch's News

Corporation in

which Al-Walid himself has shares - ran a banner saying: " Muslim

riots. "

" I picked up the phone and called Murdoch... (and told him) these

are not Muslim

riots, these are riots out of poverty, " he said.

" Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil

riots. "

On to Damascus

Most of those who are murdering Americans, and others from the

civilized world, in Iraq, are Syrians,or agents of Syria, sent by

the Assad regime to try to drive the U.S. out of Iraq just as Syria

drove the U.S. out of Lebanon by bombing the U.S. Embassy and the

U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon decades ago.

George W. Bush has liberated Iraq and Afghanistan. We hope that

President Bush will learn the bitter lessons of the Vietnam War.

Victory in Vietnam was never possible as long as North Vietnam

remained a sanctuary for those who opposed the U.S. effort in South

Vietnam, from which to launch their assaults and supply their agents

in South Vietnam.

The U.S. never took the decisive step of liberating North Vietnam.

As a result

so-called " Vietnamization " , of the Vietnam War by shifting the

burden for the

defense of South Vietnam to the South Vietnamese was doomed to

failure, as,

without the liberation of North Vietnam, it was impossible for South

Vietnam to

withstand its enemies in Hanoi, who were able to strike again and

again from

their sanctuary in North Vietnam.

Until the U.S. has liberated Syria from the Baathist regime and the

Assad family in power in Damascus it will not be possible to defeat

the remants of Saddam's Baathist regime and their allies in Iraq.

But there are obstacles to the liberation of Syria. We are quite

concerned about

the situation at Fox in particular, which sees the embattled Rupert

Murdoch

fighting off what may be a takeover attempt by tycoon John Malone

with the

assistance, (at what price???), of Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Fox is

critical in a media dominated by foes of President Bush as the last

bastion of

support for President Bush. If Murdoch ends up paying the price of

sacrificing

Fox's support for President Bush, and the valiant role President

Bush is playing

in leading the war against extremism and terrorism, in order to keep

Talal's

support, who will be left to bring the Bush message to the American

" Bush Sanctions Syria

Wednesday, May 12, 2004

WASHINGTON — President Bush is tightening the U.S. economic squeeze

on Syria with a ban on all American exports to the Arab

country except food and medicine.

For years, Syria has been branded an exporter of terror by the State

Department, which automatically prohibits U.S. arms sales

and American economic aid. The executive order Bush signed Tuesday

goes further in exacting punishment.

Bush accused Syria of pursuing weapons of mass destruction

and said that, coupled with its influence over Lebanon

represents an " extraordinary threat to the national security,

foreign policy and economy of the United States. "

State Department officials emphasized what they said was Syria's

approval for Palestinian extremist groups such as Hamas to plot

attacks on Israel from havens in Damascus.

Meantime, Prime Minister Tony Blair shares U.S. concerns about

Syria, but will continue to pursue a policy of " critical and

constructive engagement, " his office said Wednesday. Blair's

official spokesman said the government shared concerns about " WMD,

terrorism, human rights and cooperation over Iraq. "

Both the Syrian and Lebanese governments criticized the decision as

wrong and unfair, but Syria said it still seeks dialogue with the

Bush administration.

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud said the sanctions

were " wrong in content and timing " and Syria will be able to

withstand the " new injustice. "

In Friday's State Department briefing, the officials said under

rules that barred identifying them that U.S. fuel oil imports from

Syria, which amounted to about $200 million last year, could be

decreased.

While Syrian exports are not banned, American oil firms will be

unable to import equipment from their factories in the United

States, and this could complicate their operations, the officials

said.

Overall, the United States exported $214 million in goods to Syria

last year and imported $259 million worth.

In Damascus, Syrian officials minimized the significance of Bush's

action. Still, Ahmed Haj Ali, media adviser to Syria's information

ministry, said the political effects of the sanctions were much

bigger than the economic ones.

Diplomatic relations were not severed.

The new sanctions include a ban on flights to and from the United

States, although there is no current commercial air traffic between

the two countries.

Also, the Treasury Department was authorized to freeze

assets of Syrian nationals and entities involved in terrorism,

production of weapons of mass destruction, occupation of Lebanon or

terror in Iraq. Restrictions were imposed on banking relations

between American banks and the Syrian national bank. The sanctions

go beyond minimum requirements of the Syria Accountability Act.

That law, which Bush signed into law in December, provides

the basis for his actions Tuesday.

At the same time, the president chose not to take other, more

drastic action under the law, such as barring American companies

from doing business in Syria.

" President Bush did everything within his power to send a message

through diplomatic channels that Syria should not support groups

such as Hamas and Hezbollah, but it has continued to do so, " said

U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., chairwoman of the House

International Relations Middle East subcommittee.

The United States is sending " a loud and clear message to the

leaders of Syria that we will no longer turn a blind eye to their

transgressions, " said Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y, who co-authored the

legislation with Ros-Lehtinen. " The ball is now in Damascus' court. "

" President Bush and other senior administration officials have

complained in recent days about Syria's stockpile of chemical

weapons as well as reports that Damascus may be giving refuge to

members of Saddam Hussein's government. "

" October 1983 (according to a report in The Jerusalem Post), Syrian

television

showed 16-year-old girls-trainees in the Syrian Ba'ath Party

militia-fondling live snakes as President Hafez Assad and other

Syrian

leaders looked on approvingly. Martial music reached a crescendo as

the girls suddenly bit the snakes with their teeth, repeatedly tore

off flesh and spat it out as blood ran down their chins. As the

leaders

applauded, the girls then attached the snakes to sticks and grilled

them over the fire, eating them triumphantly. After this, militiamen

" strangled puppies and drank their blood. " Such demonstrations are

clearly intended to send a message to the regime's domestic

opponents. " http://www.danielpipes.org/articles/198607.shtml

" ADL URGES AUSTRIAN FOREIGN MINISTER TO BRING NAZI WAR CRIMINAL TO

JUSTICE

New York, NY, June 30, 1995...When Austria's newly-appointed Foreign

Minister H.E. Wolfgang

Schuessel received a congratulatory letter from the Anti-Defamation

League (ADL) this June, he also got a

renewed request for Austria to bring Nazi war criminal Alois Brunner

to justice. Responsible for the deaths of 60,000 Austrian Jews during

the Holocaust, Brunner is presently in Syria. Elliot Welles, ADL

Associate Director of European Affairs and Director of the Task Force

on Nazi War Criminals, sent Minister Schuessel copies of

correspondence spanning 16 years in which ADL has been urging the

Austrian Government to press Syria for Brunner's return so he can be

brought before an Austrian

Court of Justice. Commenting on reports that Austria and Syria are

expecting to improve mutual business endeavors, Welles wrote, " We

should not forget that Syria has given Brunner asylum and protection

for almost forty years, denying Austria, Germany and France the right

to try Brunner. Austria has not tried any Nazi war criminal since

1972, which is unconscionable.... " Welles continued, " It is shameful

that the Austrian government has apparently allowed its desire for a

good relationship with Syria to take priority over this matter, " and

has failed " to set a reward for the capture of Alois Brunner. "

Welles,

who is a survivor of the infamous Riga Ghetto, stated that he

encountered Brunner before he was

deported to Riga in 1942. " There are now only a handful of survivors

of the Riga Ghetto. We are still waiting for justice to be done, "

Welles said. The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the

world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs

and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry. "

" The Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin

in Bosnia by Yugoslavia. His mix of

militant propagandizing Islam was

an inspriation for both Yasser Arafat

and Saddam Husein: He was also a

close relative of Yasser Arafat and grandfather of the current Temple

Mount Mufti. " Arafat's actual name was Abd al-Rahman abd al-Bauf

Arafat al-Qud al-Husseini. He shortened it to obscure his kinship

with

the notorious Nazi and ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Muhammed Amin

al-Husseini. " His battle cry was simple and comprehensive: " Down with

the Infidels! " Howard M. Sachar, A HISTORY OF ISRAEL (New York:

Knopf,

1976). The Bet Agron International Center in Jerusalem interviewed

Arafat's brother and sister, who described the Mufti as a cousin

(family member) with tremendous influence on young Yassir after the

Mufti returned from Berlin to Cairo. Yasser Arafat himself keeps his

exact lineage and birthplace secret. Saddam Hussein was raised in the

house of his uncle Khayrallah Tulfah, who was a leader in the Mufti's

pro-Nazi coup in Iraq in May 1941 [1] THE PILLAR OF FIRE, Shikmona

Publishing Company ltd, p 1.61 Right after the 1942 Allied victory in

El Alamein, Jerusalem's grand mufti, Haj Amin al-Husseini, took to

the

airwaves and broadcast in Arabic from Berlin. At that time he already

was " prime minister " of a pan-Arab government formed in the German

capital. His foreign minister was exiled Iraqi leader Rashid Ali

al-Kilani and his war minister, Fawsi al-Kaukji. Husseini called on

his numerous disciples throughout the Middle East not to lose heart

though their greatest hope - Rommel's conquest of Eretz Yisrael - was

foiled. The mufti planned a triumphant return with the conquering

Axis

forces, and the construction of a death camp outside Nablus to

implement the final solution of the Jewish problem in this region.

Despair after the Desert Rat's rout was immense, but Husseini wouldn'

t give up. " Arise, o sons of Arabia, " he exhorted his avid pro-Nazi

followers. " Fight for your sacred rights. Slaughter Jews wherever you

find them. Their spilled blood pleases Allah, our history and

religion. That will save our honor. " In late 1944, Husseini still

sponsored a last-ditch effort to trigger another Arab rebellion. His

agents, a mixed German-Arab commando crew, parachuted here. Their

first mission was poisoning Tel Aviv's wells. Husseini arrived in

Berlin three years earlier, after escaping the British. There he

became Hitler's personal guest. The fuehrer granted him a prolonged

personal audience, and the two reached a perfect meeting of the minds

on how to solve the Jewish problem. Husseini was put up in a large

house on Berlin's Klopstock Street, to which the SS referred as " the

Jewish Institute. " With good reason. Until 1939 it was a

Zionist-oriented Hebrew school. There must have been particular

perverse pleasure in lodging the mufti precisely there. He thereafter

referred to his new residence as " The Research Institute on the

Jewish

Problem in the Moslem World. " The Germans regarded Husseini as worth

investing in. Various Nazi establishments competed for his

affections.

The Foreign Ministry paid him the then monthly equivalent of over

$10,000, when the dollar was almighty. This sum was more than matched

by the SS from its sonderfund resources, which consisted of assets

robbed from Jews, often before their execution. Again, the perverse

pleasure must have been considerable. Husseini's first Third Reich

port of call was SS chief Heinrich Himmler's headquarters. Himmler

took Husseini under his personal wing. He not only organized tours

for

him to Auschwitz, but sponsored and financed his Moslem clerical

academy in Dresden. The graduates were to spearhead Nazi rule in

Moslem lands. Husseini was in charge of pro-German and anti-Semitic

propaganda for Arabs and Moslems everywhere. He recruited Bosnians

and

other Moslem volunteers, who were to cleanse newly-occupied areas of

" hostile elements, " concentrate Jews for transport, and operate the

projected death machine in Palestine - in the manner Ukrainians did

the dirty work in Eastern Europe. The SS interest in the mufti

preceded the war. It financed his uprising here between 1936-39. In

1937, Adolf Eichmann visited this country to reconnoiter the Zionist

endeavor and meet the mufti, but the British allowed him only a

48-hour stay. Eventually Himmler introduced Husseini to Eichmann.

Thereafter the mufti became a frequent caller at Eichmann's office.

The two got along famously. They shared the goal of exterminating all

Middle Eastern Jews. This is backed by ample documentation from the

Nuremberg and Eichmann trials. At the end of 1942, Eichmann ordered

10,000 Jewish children sent from Poland to Theresienstadt. The Red

Cross offered to trade German civilians for them.Husseini got wind of

the scheme and protested vehemently to Himmler, warning him that the

little Jews would soon become big Jews. The exchange was cancelled.

Husseini is moreover " credited " with having personally foiled any

compromise on the fate of Hungarian Jewry at the very end of the war.

In his memoirs he wrote: " Our fundamental condition for cooperating

with Germany was a free hand to eradicate every last Jew from

Palestine and the Arab world. I asked Hitler for an explicit

undertaking to allow us to solve the Jewish problem in a manner

befitting our national and racial aspirations and according to the

scientific methods innovated by Germany in the handling of its Jews.

The answer I got was: 'The Jews are yours.' " After the war, Husseini

was declared a wanted war criminal. He fled to France, and from there

reached safety in Egypt, joining a host of nefarious Nazis who

continued maintaining a network of espionage, sabotage, and virulent

antisemitism from Arab havens. The mufti, who was deeply mourned by

the masses when he died in 1974, still remains revered. Arafat and

Faissal Husseini are both his blood kin. Neither repudiated him nor

renounced his teachings. A few weeks ago, an official PA communique,

reprinted in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, accused Israelis of " murdering tots

and elderly Arabs mercilessly. Jews tear open the bellies of pregnant

women and rip out the fetuses, claiming this is the commandment of

the

God of Israel, which he ordered the People of Israel to fulfill. " The

logical remedy must be the mufti's recipe for saving Arab honor and

pleasing Allah. The spirit of the man from Klopstock Street still

hovers over Gaza. That's why baby Shalhevet was murdered. [2] [2] The

15, 1990.***. The current leader of Iraq was born on April 28, 1937,

in a small village of al-Auja near the town of Takrit. His early

child

hood was spent in a mud hut in a mostly Sunni Muslim part of Iraq,

which is approximately (100) one-hundred miles north of Baghdad.

Hussein's father, Hussein al-Majid, died or abandoned the family

(according to who is reporting the story), within a short time of his

birth. Accurate records are difficult to obtain in a country where

Hussein's birthday is celebrated as a national holiday. He was reared

alone by his mother Subha, until she took a second husband, Ibrahim

Hassan. Hassan, often said to have been brutal and a thief, was a

sheepherder by profession and enlisted Saddam in his ventures.

According to a former personal secretary of Hussein, his step father

abused Saddam and sent him to steal chicken and sheep to be sold.

This

pattern continued until 1947 when, at the age of ten, he was allowed

to move in with his mother's brother, in Baghdad. " Saddam's Uncle:

" Three Whom God Should Not Have Created: Iranians, Jews and Flies. "

In Baghdad, Hussein began to learn more

than reading and writing.

His tutor, Khayrallah had been

" cashiered " from the Iraqi army for

supporting a " Pro-Nazi " coup attempt

that failed. Khayrallah's

bitterness towards the British and

imperialism, soon was transferred

to Saddam. In fact, some confidants of

Hussein point to his

relationship with Tulfah

as a turning point in his political

awareness. To demonstrate Tulfah's

importance to Hussein, he was later

made Mayor of Baghdad under the

Hussein regime. Saddam finished

intermediate school (roughly the

equivalent of 9th Grade) at the age of

sixteen, and attempted to be

admitted to the prestigious Baghdad Military Academy. Unfortunately,

his poor grades prevented him from doing so, and he became more

deeply

involved in political matters. In 1956, he participated in a

non-successful coup attempt against the monarchy of King Faisal II.

In

1957, he joined the Baath party, a radical nationalist movement. In

1958, a non-Baathist group of army officers succeeded in overthrowing

the King. The group was led by General Abdul Qassim. In 1959, Saddam

and a group of Baathist supporters attempted to assassinate Gen.

Qassim by a day-light machine-gun attack. The attack was

unsuccessful,

but it helped to place Hussein in a leadership position in the

Baathist movement and furthered the process of nationalist political

indoctrination. After the attack, in which Hussein is slightly

wounded, he fled to Syria. From Syria, he went to Cairo, Egypt where

he would spend the next four (4) years. 2 [ Also in Cairo, In 1951, a

close relative of the Mufti named Rahman Abdul Rauf el-Qudwa

el-Husseini matriculated to the University of Cairo. The student

decided to conceal his true identity and enlisted as " Yasser Arafat. "

3 ] Persecution was at its worst at the end of 1968. Scores were

jailed upon the discovery of a local " spy ring " composed of Jewish

businessmen. Fourteen men-eleven of them Jews-were sentenced to death

in staged trials and hanged in the public squares of Baghdad; others

died of torture. On January 27, 1969, Baghdad Radio called upon

Iraqis

to " come and enjoy the feast. " Some 500,000 men, women and children

paraded and danced past the scaffolds where the bodies of the hanged

Jews swung; the mob rhythmically chanted " Death to Israel " and " Death

to all traitors. " This display brought a world-wide public outcry

that

Radio Baghdad dismissed by declaring:

" We hanged spies, but the Jews crucified Christ. " 4 In 1978, Saddam

had been working with other Arab nations to ostracize Egypt for it's

diplomatic initiative in resolving Israel/Arab questions. An ally,

President Hafez al-Assad of Syria, almost became the undoing of

Hussein's ascension. If a Syrian/Iraqi federation were formed against

Egypt, Assad, not Hussein, would rise to a position of greater power

in the relationship. President Bakr would lead the federation with

Assad as second in command. Hussein could not allow that to happen

and

began to urge the President to step down. Again with the help of his

family and security apparatus, Hussein was able to accomplish his

task. On July 16, 1979, President Bakr resigned, officially due to

health problems, but in reality a victim of Hussein's political

in-fighting. Moving quickly to consolidate his power, he called a

major Baathist meeting on July 22, 1979. During the meeting, various

family members and other Hussein devotees urged that the party be

" cleansed " . Hussein then read a list of names and asked that they

step

outside. Once there, they are taken into custody. A high-ranking

member of the Revolutionary Command, the head of the labor unions,

the

leading Shiite member of the Command, and twenty (20) others are then

systematically and personally killed by Hussein and his top party

officials. During the next few days, reports indicate that as many as

450 other military officers, deputy prime ministers, and " non-party

faithful " were rounded up and killed. This purge insured Hussein's

consolidation of power in Iraq.

In 1980, Iraq invaded Iran and conducted an eight year war against

one

of his nearest neighbors and the home of Shiite fundamentalist

Muslims. The war continued for eight years of brutality and even

repression of Hussein's own countrymen " -especially the (Sunni) Kurds

(and the Shiite Arabs)-. " 2 1941 - In April, in accordance to a 1930

treaty Iraq permits the British to move their troops into Iraq. Iraq

appeals for Nazi support and attacks the British air base at

Habbaniya. The Iraqi army is beaten and Prime Minister Rashid Ali

flees the country. Britian resumes military control. The monarchy is

restored. Saddam Hussein's uncle Khairallah is jailed and Saddam

moves

to live with his mother and step-father 1981 - On June 7th Iraq's

nuclear research reactor was destroyed by an Israeli airforce attack.

President Saddam arranges to have the philosophical writings of his

uncle Khairallah published in a treatise titled 'Three Whom God

Should

Not Have Created: Iranians, Jews and Flies. " In September the Iraqi

armed forces pull back East of the Karun river.

http://smokylake.com/Christy/history/iraq.htm (most) of the Arab

population of Iraq are Shiites who are subject to rule by a minority

government of Sunni Arabs in Baghdad. The Shiite sect has been the

subject of repeated harassment and persecution by the Iraq government

which views the sect as a pestilential emanation of the civilization

of Iran, itself viewed as the quintessential enemy of all things

Arab.

The Ministry of Education of Iraq once issued a textbook for boys'

high schools entitled Those Three Whom God Should Not Have Created:

Iranians, Jews, and Flies. Since the rise of the Baþthist Party the

Iraqi government has systematically expelled around 10% of its

population for the crime of having Iranian ancestry. Most Iraqi Jews

have long since fled to Israel.

http://www.isu.edu/~andesean/midest.htm

Kairallah was to become not only Saddam's father figure but his

political mentor as well. Kairallah had fought against Great Britain

in the Iraqi uprising of 1941 and had spent five years in prison for

his nationalist agitation. He filled the impressionable young boy's

head with tales of his heroic relatives-his great grandfather and two

great uncles-who gave their lives for the cause of Iraqi nationalism

while fighting foreign invaders. Kairallah, who was later to become

governor of Baghdad, shaped young Hussein's world view, imbuing him

with a hatred of foreigners. In 1981, Saddam republished a pamphlet

written by his uncle entitled " Three Whom God Should Not Have

Created:

Iranians, Jews, and Flies. "

Sharon: Israel Knows Syria Is Hiding Iraqis, Weapons

By Julie Stahl

CNSNews.com Jerusalem Bureau Chief

April 15, 2003

Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Israel knows that Syria is hiding Iraqi

officials and equipment, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told a Hebrew

newspaper.

" [syrian President] Bashar Assad is dangerous. His judgment is

impaired, " Sharon was quoted as saying in excerpts published Tuesday

in the daily Yediot Aharonot .

" In the Iraq war he proved he was incapable of drawing conclusions

from very obvious facts. Anyone with eyes in his head would have

known that Iraq was going to be on the losing side. But Assad

thought the United States was going to fail, " Sharon said.

The interview broke Israel's official silence on Syria, following a

weekend threat to involve Israel in the event the United States

attacks Syria in its war on terror.

Sharon called on the United States to put " very heavy diplomatic and

economic pressure " on Syria.

He listed five demands: dismantling " palestinian terrorist

organizations " based in Damascus; ousting Iranian Revolutionary

Guards from Lebanon; ending Syrian-Iranian cooperation, including

the transfer of weapons to the so-called

" palestinian " authority and inciting Israeli Arabs; deploying the

Lebanese Army along the Lebanese-Israeli border and ridding the area

of Hizballah; and dismantling the surface-to-surface missile system

that Israel says Hizballah has installed in southern Lebanon.

Tensions have been building between Washington and Damascus during

the war in Iraq, over U.S. allegations that Syria allowed both

fighters and weapons to cross its border into Iraq to fight against

coalition troops.

But President Bush upped the ante over the weekend when he charged

that Syria had chemical weapons and warned that Damascus had better

cooperate.

" The Syrian government needs to cooperate with the United States and

our coalition partners and not harbor any Baathists, any military

officials, any people who need to be held to account for their

tenure, " Bush said.

British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said, there were " important

questions " which Damascus needed to answer, such as if it was

harboring Iraqi fugitives or developing " illegal or illegitimate

chemical or biological programs. "

Dealing with Syria

Yuval Shteinitz, head of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense

Committee, said that the global war on terrorism could not be

completed without dealing with Syria.

The way Syria is behaving " looks strange, " Shteinitz said in a

telephone interview.

On the other hand they must understand ... that they are on the list

of terror-sponsoring states and in any case it is better to play the

hero if they are the next stop in the war on terrorism, he said.

Shteinitz charged that Syria is the number one terrorist sponsoring

nation in the world, ahead of Iraq and Afghanistan....

Syria, which according to U.N. resolutions illegally occupies

Lebanon, also backs the Hizballah terrorist organization based in

south Lebanon and hosts the headquarters of at least a dozen

terrorist organizations in Damascus.

" Without dismantling Hizballah, without dismantling the terror

[organizations] in Damascus [like] Hamas and Islamic Jihad the

global war on terrorism cannot be completed, " Shteinitz said.

According to some U.S. experts, he said, Hizballah may be even more

dangerous than al Qaeda.

...... if a full-scale war were launched, Shteinitz said, Israel

would likely be attacked and would strike back.

Israel warned Syria and Hizballah prior to the war in Iraq not to

try to take advantage of the situation to attack Israel and pledged

a severe retaliation for any attacks. "

President Bush Discusses Terror Plot Upon Arrival in Wisconsin

Austin Straubel International Airport

Green Bay, Wisconsin

In Focus: Homeland Security

10:54 A.M. CDT

THE PRESIDENT: The recent arrests that our fellow citizens are now

learning about are a stark reminder that this nation is at war with

Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who

love freedom, to hurt our nation.

I want to thank the government of Tony Blair and officials in the

United Kingdom for their good work in busting this plot. I thank the

officials in Washington, D.C. and around our country who gather

intelligence and who work to protect the American people. The

cooperation on this venture was excellent -- cooperation between

U.K. and U.S. authorities and officials was solid. And the

cooperation amongst agencies within our government was excellent.

This country is safer than it was prior to 9/11. We've taken a lot

of measures to protect the American people. But obviously, we're

still not completely safe, because there are people that still plot

and people who want to harm us for what we believe in. It is a

mistake to believe there is no threat to the United States of

America. And that is why we have given our officials the tools they

need to protect our people.

Travelers are going to be inconvenienced as a result of the steps

we've taken. I urge their patience and ask them to be vigilant. The

inconvenience is -- occurs because we will take the steps necessary

to protect the American people.

Again, I appreciate the close cooperation between our government and

the government of the United Kingdom. The American people need to

know we live in a dangerous world, but our government will do

everything we can to protect our people from those dangers.

Thank you.

The Clinton Administration, fearful of revealing the truth about

TWA Flight 800 re-wrote the evidence story with a flimsy cover that

bomb-sniffingdogexercises had been conducted on the plane. Nonsense,

as bomb-sniffingdogs are used to detect explosive material, before

it has gone off, inconcealed devices and luggage, not on airplane

seats after theexplosion has gone off. In the Pan Am 103 bombing

former JFK PressSecretary, Pierre Salinger had speculated on Syrian

involvement intheblast. In the TWA Flight 800 bombing French

intelligence fed Salinger a false story about a US Missile attack on

Flight 800, to divert him from repeating the Syrian track on Flight

800. A Saudi pilot even claimed to have seen odd green flares over

the sight on a laterflightweeks later. The Saudi regent, Saudi Crown

Prince Abdullah , authorofthe infamous so-called " Saudi Peace Plan " ,

is married to a woman froma prominent Sunni family in Damascus and

has close ties with the Syrian regime. Syria may also have been

responsible for support or more in the bombings of US Facilities in

Saudi Arabia. It certainly is widely viewed to have bombed the US

Embassy in Beirut, the US Marine Barracks in Beirut, and of course

to have murdered 400 people along with the Gemayel government to be

in Lebanon, to have shelled thousands of Christians In East Beirut,

to have occupied Lebanon, to have heavy drug involvement In the

Bekaa Valley, to print fake US currency, to back and permit to

operate countless terrorist gangs, does anyone wish to add more

charges as the list seems to go on endlessly. The Assad family and

the Baath Party are the true obstacles to a Syrian/Israeli peace.

The Assads come from the tiny Alawite minority within Syria. If

arrested, tried, convicted, sentenced appropriately they would not

be missed by the vast majority of the Syrian people.

The Baath Party was founded in Syria when Syriawas a

French colony and France was under nazi occupation. The Syrian and

Iraqi Baath Parties split some years ago into a so-

called " political " wing in Iraq and a so-called " military " wing in

Syria. Most of those who are murdering Americans and others in Iraq

have come from or through Syria or are Syrians themselves. Just as

the

Vietnam War remained unwinnable because the U.S. refused to liberate

North Vietnam by sending in ground troops to create regime change in

North Vietnam, so Iraq cannot truly ever be brought to democracy

while Syrian based and Syrian sponsored terrorists continue to murder

Americans and others from the civilized world seeking to bring

democracy to Iraq. Only regime change in Syria can make the success

of democracy possible in Iraq

I would first suggest that you go to

http://www.forward.com/ which is

the website of The Forward, a historic

Jewish newspaper published both

in print and excerpted on the Web.

Contact them for back copies of

their issues from the period in which

TWA Flight 800 was BOMBED which

contain a story on the Turkish/Syrian

conflict of that period. There

were 40,000 troops on the

Turkish/Syrian border at the time.

There had

been 2 bomb attempts on the life of

then Syrian dictator Hafez Al

Assad, later replaced by his son Bashir

al Assad after he died.

TWA Flight 800: The plane was about an hour late in taking off, the

likely bomb was probably set to go off via a timer, over the ocean

and

far away from any possibility of recovering evidence of the crime.

Evidence of explosive material was found on seats on the plane in

locations similar to the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing. The NEW YORK

TIMES

even ran a front page headline piece about that But of course

America

recanted and covered all of that up by coming up with the ridiculous

story about bomb-sniffing dog exercises having been conducted on the

plane. NO WAY

In real bomb sniffing dog exercises the dogs are used to detect

hidden

bombs in transistor radios and such, we assume also in shoes these

days, but NOT ON AIRPLANE SEATS Bomb materials residue would only be

found on seats AFTER the explosion Not before it There had also

been

attacks on US installations in Saudi Arabia not long before TWA

Flight

800 was bombed. The Saudis had been particularly uncooperative with

US

investigators, they did not permit free FBI access to the suspects,

etc.

The usual Saudi procedure is to execute whoever might be able to tell

a tale. Dead men tell no tales as the saying goes. The Saudi regent

Crown Prince Abdullah is married to a prominent member of a Sunni

Moslem family from Damascus Syria. Now if you were a Syrian dissident

and a possible candidate to replace Assad at the time you presumably

speak French as a second language, Syria having been a colony of

France at the time. You know you are not safe in the arab world,

Syria

hosts countless terrorist gangs both in Syria and in its puppet state

of Lebanon. So you probably want to live the good life in exile In

Paris. That's where Khomeini stayed out his exile. Syria was

supporting the Kurdish PKK guerillas In Turkey at the time, which led

to the Syrian-Turkish near war and probably to the 2 bomb attempts by

Turkey, we think it was by Turkey, on Assad's life not long before

TWA

Flight 800 went down.

Well we know that no one is really safe if someone wants to get them,

be they JFK, Reagan, or the Pope for that matter. Both the Pope and

Clinton were targeted by Saddam, we think, using bin Laden's gang as

a

hit squad. Saddam also targeted former President Bush in 1993 in

Kuwait, I believe that not only was former Secretary of State James

Baker on that trip but that most of Bush's sons were too, though

George W. Bush was not Laura Bush was. But to get back to Flight 800

if Assad's intelligence

operatives were shadowing Syrian dissidents in Paris, highly likely

we

think, they might have seen one or more such dissidents go to New

York and then be scheduled to return to Paris. Of course you can't

kill the dissident in New York, the Americans won't like you, former

President Bush whitewashed Syria, saying that Syria had gotten " a bum

rap " on things like terrorism. The Saudis are literally in bed with

the Syrians, as witness the marriage of the former Saudi Crown Prince

now Saudi King Abdullah, whose fake so-called " peace plan " also

called for Israel to give up Judea and Samaria,(often mistakenly

referred to as the so-called " West Bank " ) as well as Gaza,(Gaza has

since been foolishly abandoned by Ariel Sharon), and THE GOLAN

HEIGHTS, from which Syria could happily shell and invade Israel to a

woman from a prominent Sunni Moslem family from Damascus, Syria.

At any rate, if your proposed replacement(s) happened to be on TWA

Flight 800 what better way for you, if you were Hafez al-Assad, to

keep yourself alive than by killing your replacement(s) You can't

kill them in the US , Uncle Sam would be embarrassed , you can't kill

them in France, where Chirac runs the show and is also in bed with

the Syrians and hates Israel So you kill them in the alley In mid-

ocean The plane was about an hour late in taking off, the likely

bomb was probably set to go off via a timer, over the ocean and far

away from any possibility of recovering evidence of the crime. Which

turned out to be a disaster for the bombers People saw the plane

explode Of course French Intelligence got into the act too The

Clinton haters, the militia types, etc. of the far right were eager

to blame the crash on the USA, Clinton being President then. What

better way to do so than to blame the American military for shooting

the plane down with a missile The " missile theory " was nonsense of

course. Too many planes are in that area, you could end up hitting

the wrong one, you would

have to cover up the event with other pilots, plus your own pilot,

plus whatever airfield you used etc. People did see a flash from the

explosion and flame raining down from it and mistakenly thought that

the flame raining down was a missile going up It wasn't there was no

missile. Occam's Razor, the simplest explanation works best here. It

was a bomb, we believe planted by the Syrians Of course it could

also

have been arafat's bomb arafat was looking to reprise his role in

the

Achille Lauro hijacking at the time. In the Achille Lauro hijacking

arafat played good cop to his own bad cop gang led by Mohammed Abbas,

arafat's next door neighbor and henchman, who led the Achille Lauro

hijackers who murdered American Leon Klinghoffer, tossing the elderly

American overboard in his wheelchair. A crime for which the PLO later

paid a settlement to the Klinghoffer family, but for which arafat, as

the crime's real mastermind has yet to be brought to justice by the

United States and for which arafat should be brought to justice

Pierre Salinger, then an elderly journalist living in Paris, had been

JFK's Press Secretary.

Salinger had speculated on Syrian involvement in the Lockerbie

bombing, something that France was desperate to avoid Salinger

repeating in

the TWA Flight 800 case. So French Intelligence spoon fed Salinger

the " missile theory " nonsense on TWA Flight 800. Salinger himself

even

admitted that French Intelligence was his source for that wild goose

chase misdirect on the story. Moreover there was even a Saudi pilot

of a private plane heading to Washington D.C. from JFK who reported

that he had spotted " green flares " some weeks after TWA Flight 800

had gone down, in an attempt to corroborate the phony missile

theory. So again Saudi involvement in the cover-up certainly seems

possible to

us.

OSAMA'S MENTOR PRINCE TURKI - BROTHER OF PRINCESS HAIFA

FIRST SECTION IMMEDIATELY BELOW IS EXCERPTED FROM: " CNN CONNIE CHUNG

from Riyadh is not only former chief of Saudi intelligence; he's the

brother of the princess, Princess Haifa al-Faisal, wife of the Saudi

ambassador to Washington, whose checks are now under investigation. "

CLEARLY

TURKI AL-FAISAL, FORMER CHIEF OF SAUDI INTELLIGENCE: *** in my view,

ludicrous and unfair media hype on my sister.*** her contributions to

children's welfare and children with educational disabilities are

well-registered and reported in the Washington area.***CHUNG: And

joining me now from Washington is the man who broke this story on

Saudi money; " Newsweek " 's Michael Isikoff. Michael, I'm sure you just

heard what Prince Turki said. He said that your report was ludicrous

and-quote- " unfair media hype. " MICHAEL ISIKOFF, " NEWSWEEK " : ***And

here's what we know. What we know is, the two individuals who ended

up

as the recipient of the money-or at least it was through-or their

families ended up as the recipients of the money-are these two Saudi

students in San Diego, Mr. Omar al-Bayoumi and Mr. Osama Basnan. Now,

they turn out to be not your run-of-the-mill Saudi students. Mr.

Bayoumi, under his own account, just happened to run into the two

hijackers, al-Midhar and al-Hazmi, right after they landed in LAX,

straight from an al Qaeda terrorist summit in Kuala Lumpur in January

2000. By his account, he just happened to overhear them speaking

Arabic at an L.A. restaurant and just happened to offer to take care

of them and bring them to San Diego. He welcomes them in a welcoming

party. He opens up a bank account for them. He arranges for an

apartment right next door to his. And he fronts them two months rent

for the first two months, $1,500. Mr. Basnan, as we report in this

week's " Newsweek, " was a known al Qaeda sympathizer, according to a

federal law enforcement official, had openly expressed his admiration

for the events of September 11, and talked about what a wonderful,

glorious day it had been, and, as we further report, according to a

U.S. intelligence source, showed up in Houston earlier last April,

when the Crown Prince Abdullah was in town and met with a high-

ranking

member of the crown prince's entourage, who deals with intelligence

matters. And we did find a Houston police report that placed him in

Houston that day, April 25. He was reporting $400 in stolen cash.***

In fact, Mr. Bayoumi left the country two months before September 11.

He was picked up by the British in New Scotland Yard a couple of days

after 9/11, then released after a week, and is now believed back in

Saudi Arabia. I can tell you for a fact that, as we report in

" Newsweek, " that witnesses in San Diego have been grilled intensively

in the last couple of weeks about Mr. Bayoumi and his whereabouts and

his activities. And the FBI, which is conducting this investigation,

would not be asking those questions if they were fully satisfied that

all the questions about Mr. Bayoumi's activities had been answered.

CHUNG: The new questions about the role of Saudi Arabian money and

the

September 11 attacks are not the first time Saudis have been

implicated. Almost 3,000 September 11 victims and relatives have

joined a massive lawsuit seeking as much as $1 trillion from members

of the Saudi royal family. Kevin Schaeffer is one of those victims.

And Ron Motley is the attorney pursuing this lawsuit. Ron, I'm told

that you have just returned from Kabul, that your investigators were

there looking into links between the hijackers and the Taliban and al

Qaeda. Were they able to find any link to the Saudi royal family? RON

MOTLEY, ATTORNEY FOR 9/11 VICTIMS AND RELATIVES: Yes, ma'am. We were

able to establish, by sworn testimony, the act of participation of

Prince Turki in the facilitation of the funding of al Qaeda directly

in Afghanistan. CHUNG: Are you saying that Prince Turki, with whom I

just spoke and who claims no one in the royal family is in any way

connected to or funding al Qaeda, are you saying that he is indeed

not

only a funder, but a facilitator for al Qaeda? MOTLEY: There is

absolutely no question about it. We spoke with senior Taliban

officials who were in the room when he indeed did facilitate the

transfer of large sums of money directly to al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

CHUNG: Who was present and how can you verify that Prince Turki was

involved? MOTLEY: Well, Prince Turki hasn't appeared in the suit yet.

But when he does, if he does, we will be able to take his testimony

under oath. But Prince Turki was in Afghanistan on numerous occasions

facilitating the transfer of funds and equipment to al Qaeda. And the

people who gave us these sworn statements were in the room when it

occurred. And these were senior Taliban, former Taliban officials.

CHUNG: Prince Turki is named in your lawsuit, is he not? MOTLEY: He

indeed is a primary target. CHUNG: Do you have any information that

would suggest that the story today, which involves Princess Haifa, is

an accurate one? MOTLEY: Well, I think the story is accurate. The

conclusions you can draw from that story may not be soundly footed

right now, although my investigator has reported-maybe another

coincidence-but another link between the princess and an al Qaeda

figure who has turned state's evidence and is testifying against

three

other al Qaeda members in Michigan. " END OF CONNIE CHUNG EXCERPT

Prince Turki, chief of Saudi intelligence one of bin Laden's mentors

Recently Eric S. Margolis, author of War at the Top of the World :

The

Struggle for Afghanistan, Kashmir and Tibet told a television news

interviewer that Osama Bin Laden Had vetoed UNOCAL's pipeline offer

thru Afghanistan in favor of (Bridas) an Argentine firm. " Bridas told

the Taliban it had no need for funding outside the region. Backing up

their claim, they entered into a partnership with the Saudi firm

Ningarcho. Ningarcho had connections to Prince Turki, chief of Saudi

intelligence and one of Osama bin Laden's mentors. Unocal's Saudi

partner, Delta Oil, was connected to Crown Prince Abdullah. Thus,

Ahmed Rashid observes, " the competition between Unocal and Bridas

also

reflected competition within the Saudi Royal family. ***During 1997

Bridas and Unocal both expanded their courtship of the Taliban.

Taliban delegations traveled to Buenos Aires where they were treated

as royalty. Another delegation traveled to the U.S. to meet with

Unocal and government officials, and to lobby for diplomatic

recognition. Bridas was painstakingly negotiating a contract with

various Afghani factions .*** Prince Turki al-Faisal, then head of

Saudi intelligence, arranged for bin Laden's mother to visit him in

1998. A second visit was reportedly arranged with the knowledge of

the

Saudi royal family, in early 2000. According to Saudi dissident Saad

Al-Fagih, the second trip was to try to discourage bin Laden from

taking action against the royal family.

September 11 Lawsuits

UK Observer reports that the new Saudi ambassador to Britain, Prince

Turki

al-Faisal, is a defendant in a $1 trillion lawsuit by families of

the victims of

9-11. The lawsuit says " Turki had two meetings in 1998 with al-

Qaeda. They say

that Turki helped seal a deal whereby al-Qaeda would not attack

Saudi targets.

In return, Saudi Arabia would make no demands for extradition or the

closure of

bin Laden's network of training camps. Turki also promised financial

assistance

to Mullah Omar. A few weeks after the meetings, 400 new pick-up

vehicles arrived

in Kandahar... Turki arranged for donations to be made directly to

al-Qaeda and

bin Laden by a group of wealthy Saudi businessmen. " Turki is also

linked to

Mohammed Zouaydi, one of al-Qaeda's top money-launderers,

who " distributed more

than $1 million to al- Qaeda units, including the Hamburg cell of

Mohammed Atta

which plotted the World Trade Centre attack. "

The links between Saudi Arabia and the September 11 terrorist

attacks are not

something we'd expect the desert kingdom to be trumpeting, but it

has done just

that by appointing one of its princes, Turki al-Faisal, as its new

ambassador to

Washington. It's an odd choice, to say the least. Save for

diplomatic immunity,

one could just as easily make an argument that Riyadh's newest envoy

should, on

arrival at Dulles Airport, be brought in for questioning by the

authorities.

Here's a brief resume:

Prince Turki served as head of Saudi intelligence from 1977 until 10

days before

September 11, 2001. As such, he was Riyadh's main contact with the

Taliban in

Afghanistan - and thereby also with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. He

admits to

Secret

History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and Bin Laden, From the Soviet

Invasion to

September 10, 2001, " a Pulitzer-winning book by the Washington

Post's Steve

Coll. Mr. Coll writes that while the Saudis deny Mr. bin Laden was

ever a Saudi

agent, " it seems clear that bin Laden did have a substantial

relationship with

Saudi intelligence. "

I'm not saying that French Intelligence BOMBED TWA FLIGHT 800, only

that they helped to cover it up by feeding Salinger the

phony " missile

theory " story. The right-wing Clinton hating militia types ate that

story up. They've got their own arab-nazi connections. There were

French citizens who were killed on TWA Flight 800 so it would deeply

embarrass Chirac of France, who is pro-Syrian if Salinger had gone

down the Syrian track on the story as he had in the Lockerbie Pan Am

103 bombing case. The explosive material on the seats of BOTH planes

(PAN AM 103 AND TWA 800) was the same and was found in the same

seating locations Then of course there are the " alleged "

French/Nazi/arab connections

Bitter Scent: The Case of L'Oreal, Nazis, and the Arab Boycott

Had TWA Flight 800 NOT BEEN DELAYED BY ABOUT AN HOUR IN TAKEOFF it

would have crashed into the middle of the Atlantic Ocean without a

trace. There would have been no warning. The plane would never have

been recovered. There would have been no clues. Arafat could have

played good cop again, at the time he certainly needed to play good

cop to look good on the world stage, and of course he could even have

come up with some dead " terrorists " to take the blame. However that

did not happen. The crash was seen, the plane was recovered and

rebuilt and Uncle Sam decided on the ridiculous " mechanical failure "

cover-up story. Which takes us to flight 587 American Airlines Flight

587 crashed into Queens, New York on November 12th, 2001. Was

terrorism the cause A simultaneous meeting of foreign ministers of

neighboring nations bordering Afghanistan with American and Russian

counterparts at the U.N. that morning could have been a target of

that

flight. Recently bin Laden has said negative things about the U.N.

and

an attack on the U.N. was discussed by people linked to the 1993

attack on the World Trade Center. The hijackers of one of the

September 11th, 2001 flights claimed to have a bomb in a red box,

according to passengers in cell-phone communication with the ground.

Suicide bombers often have explosives strapped right to them. If

there

was a failed attempt to take over the cockpit of American Airlines

Flight 587 on Monday November 12th, 2001 the hijackers could have

detonated a bomb on board rather than be captured alive. Many

witnesses reported seeing or hearing an explosion on the plane before

it crashed, including seeing a bright orange fireball, initial press

reports, later denied by the White House said that the White House

was

quoting the FBI as saying an explosion occurred on board the flight.

An investigation is ongoing. Saddam Hussein's mortal enemy, the

President of Iran, was also in New York on that date and American

Secret Service protection for him was reported to have suddenly

increased on word of the plane crash. One engine from that flight

fell

into the backyard of a house, another fell into a gas station parking

lot while the tail fin fell into the water and the main part of the

plane fell onto some homes. Thus there were 4 distinct sites where

large elements of the plane came down.

The probable bombing of TWA Flight 800, most likely

because it may have been carrying a Syrian dissident or dissidents

who

could have replaced Assad at a time not long after 2 bomb attempts

had

been made on Assad's life, most likely by Turkey, at a period when

there were 40,000 troops on the Syrian-Turkish border due to Assad's

support of the PKK, the dissident or dissidents probably lived in

Paris, the destination of TWA Flight 800 but could not be killed in

either New York, the departure location or France as America and

France would be embarrassed had the killing(s) occurred there. The

plane was about an hour late in taking off, the likely bomb was

probably set to go off via a timer, over the ocean and far away from

any possibility of recovering evidence of the crime. Evidence of

explosive material was found on seats on the plane in locations

similar to the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing.

Which

turned out to be a disaster for the bombers People saw the plane

explode
