Guest guest
Re the posts about the fleas, the parts using essential oils on cats are strongly recommended AGAINST on my cats list. They say NO essential oils near cats, but infused oils are a different matter. This is what they said about the recipe for 3 or more oils listed by somene on here, with the oils being used in a carrier oil on the cat's collar. " " I've seen this recipe. These are essential oils, a BIG no-no with cats. Safe to use with dogs (except the pennyroyal, which should NOT be used in pregnant or lactating bitches), but not with cats. _No Way! No How! Should essential oils EVER be used on or around cats because of their quirky metabolism and that fact that many essential oils contain high levels of phenols and benzenes toxic to cats. www.thelavendercat.com has some excellent data on why cats cannot tolerate eo's. Even pennyroyal. Further reading: Wilcke, J.R. " Idiosyncrasies of drug metabolism in cats: Effects on pharmacotherapeutics in feline practice. They cause nerve damage! I can't even sit 3 feet away from a window sill I put cinnamon oil on for a month it's so strong! Clove oil is used for toothaches bc it kills the nerve, and aquarists use it for euthanizing sick fish. Now an INFUSED oil would be a different matter.
