Frozen Vegetable as far as I know do not have

preservatives unless they are combined with some other

food stuffs.

You can get preservative free frozen foods, but you

pay a price of almost 100% higher or more than regular

frozen foods.

Dear Heather,

I so applaud your desire and willingness to learn!

You asked:

<is all frozen food have additives and preservatives?

so is all of the frozen stuff bad?>

There is nothing wrong with for instance

a bag of plain frozen vegetables.

There is lots wrong with frozen pizza, or

waffles, or a whole ready-to-go prepared

meal. Read the labels!!!

<if I switch to home cooked meals, will the whole additive ,

preservative and food coloring and so on go away?>

YES!!!! You got it! At least, if you are truly cooking from

scratch. If you serve, say, a pork chop, a baked potato,

and some vegetables, you know there are no preservatives

in there because you didn't put them there!

<im not sure where to search to find out these answers.>

Hey, you came to the right place.

Plenty of food fanatics on this list, smile.

Again, Read the labels!

Buy " The Crazy Makers " by Carol Simontacchi.

Go to http://newstarget.com and read the interview

with Dr Russell Blaylock on excitotoxins.

It is obscene how many additives are hiding

even in foods we think are quite wholesome.

Listen to FlyLady, and take baby steps to better

eating.

Side effect: the whole family will be healthier!

I know it's not easy. We are all rooting for you!

Not all frozen foods have additives and preservatives. There are a number

of new age companies that freeze food without any of the above. You can

also get organic frozen vegetables. I don't know where you are located but

you can check with any local health food store for some or ask them to

order. If you are near a Whole Foods Market - or even a Trader Joe's - you

will have access to a wide range.

Even Birds' Eye Foods is now coming out with an organic line. But, you

will need to be careful on how normal, commercial plants freeze them.

You can also buy organic food on line. Just go and do a search. If need

be you can freeze your own. Just par boil fresh veggies till barely

tender, place in freeze bags and freeze yourself.
