Guest guest
Hi ladies and gentlemen.. There seems to be a spelling mistake what jenny had sent.. There is a lot of confusion and contradiction about hypo and hyper.. If any disesase like hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia and hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism then there will be lot of problems as doctors are very busy and incase you change your doctor there will be lot of problems.. Normally these doctors are overloaded and there handwrting waont be clear and cases taken on telephone and mediicnes prescribed will make lot of confusion.. and you will again get into problem.. Similary the case with MDP.. They may think that a MDP is sick or he is MDpsychaitry or MD of a comapny or MDP taht is manic depressive psychosis..The solution is to have a crystal clear counselling to the patients about the nature of the disesa the prescription typed on a computer using HMIS.mdb software in my website www.maheshnbiomedical.com By the what jenny has been prescribed that is growth hormone seeems to be for hypothyroidism rather than hyperthyroidism.. Similarly with myopia and metropia.. There are doctors who are busy and call the old doctor to get the case history but then who remmebers all this.. There is a need of interview and audio recording especially for psychaitry and medical transcription.. Another solution is to reduce the rush in OPDs and have cases based on appointments Afresh case should take at least one hour and followups fifteen minutes to half an hour.. All case files should be properly maintained.. Patients should not chanmge the doctors frequently.. Guest guest
Dear Mahesh, Sai Ram. While what you wrote is generally true, in Jenny's case, there is no confusion. She had hyperthyroidism for which subtotal thyroidectomy (surgical removal of part of thyroid gland)is an approved procedure. Earlier, when the full thyroid gland was removed, patients became immediately hypothyroid and also parathyroid glands were also lost along with the thyroid gland. So, the later procedure was to leave a small portion of the thyroid gland. In such cases, some of the patients become hypothyroid later. Jenny developed that condition, which is a sequel of surgery. Similar thing happens with radioactive treatment of thyroid gland using Iodine 131. She will be better of with thyroxine supplements and regular monitoring of T3, T4 and TSH. Homeopathic supplements of Thyroid are also available. I am not commenting about the herbal products asked by Jenny since I have no experience.
