Hello Everyone,

I'm a new member. Firstly i must say that this group is really amazing.

My problem is about my thyroid. I have had a hyperthyroid problem 7 years back

and i've had a surgery of removal part of my throid glands. Since then (for

about 5 years) i've been taking T4 hormons as pills and most of the doctors say

i may have to take it for lifetime. Is there anyone who had this surgery and

stop taking synthetic T4 hormon?

Also i've come across a website www.greenlife-herbal.com it says operated

thyroid can also be cured with this product. Anyone has tried this?

Thanks

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I had no surgery, just extremely low thyroid function

about 10,15 years ago... and instead of taking the

hormones, doctors prescribed, I have been taking

Thyroid Energy,

L-Tyrosin

Thytrophin

bayberry

besides other supplements, mostly by Now and I feel

pretty good.

This probably does not apply, when you had surgery...

I just thought I'd let you know...

Jenny, I would be VERY SKEPTICAL about those claims. Most of the

thyroid herbal remedies I've seen are way to expensive first of all

and secondly, you might do yourself irreparable harm as the thyroid

also affects your heart function and blood pressure.

hey jenny,

sorry about the thyroid thing. um, i hate to burst your bubble, but i would

say you'll need meds for life. unless your thyroid is truly amazing and can

suddenly provide what you need. and hey, stranger things can happen. you might

just want to change up what you take. there are alternatives, even tho the

doctors rarely want to help with that. i myself take armour, which isn't the

most common, although it was the first treatment available. it's dessicated pig

thyroid, and i've tried all the others, this is the one that works. most docs

just put you on T4 and forget about you. didn't work for me due to extreme

thyroid deficiency. maybe you just need to add cytomel or change to something

better. there are a number of good books out there, mary shomon's sticking out

your neck being one of them.

keep digging and find what feels good for you, even if you have to irritate

the good doctor!

good luck.

Do you used to take horlicks or boost or steroids which increase your

growth hormones..You stop taking these things and have afsting for three

days and pray to God.. You can take milk during fasting..You stop taking

wheat and rice based foods and take liquid foods like juices..

I have been taking a NON-Synthetic Thyroid supplement

for almost 2 years now. When I can get it as it has to

come from outside the country. I feel great! I sleep

better, my mood swings level out and I more energy

than without it. It is natural which is the best way

to go as synthetics actually destroy your thyroid

rather than heal it. My mother who is also taking the

say supplement loves it, swears by it and refuses to

take synthetics anymore. Plus I use Biofeedback when

necessary to heal and boost my endocrine system.

My son has had a complete thyroidectomy andwill be on hormone replacement for

the rest of his life. However I have looked into a natural thyroid replacement

that the body accepts better. Go to thyca.com for all the information. He has

mood problem ect.. We have not made the switch yet but will when he is cancer

free. There is also a rather large thyroid research center in Itally for thyroid

research, they tend to use more of a natural approach.

If you have low thyroid function, you may also have high blood

pressure or the tendency to have it as well. Beware of L-tyrosine--

it will raise it dangerously high--i have personal experience with

this.

Hi Mahesh

There wasn't a spelling mistake because i started with hyperthyroid (toxic

goiter) at the age of 17, i had no problems with growth hormons and didn't need

to take boost or steroids.I was feeling nervous, moody, weak and i had lost

weight fastly. My TSH was extremely low and my neck had a remarkable swelling.

For about 2 years i had to take antithyroid medicines. There's another treatment

for hyperthyroid, radioactive iodine but i couldn't have had it as i was a

teenager. So the antithyroids seemed to work, i got better but suddenly one

nodule started growing, then i had to undergo surgery. Later on i've learnt that

so-called modern medicine treats the hyperthyroid as turning it into less

challenging disease hypothyroid and tell you to use T4 forever. I look for

natural remedies and wonder if it'll start functioning ever again.

Thanks and greetings

Hey Anita,

thanks for your suggestion. I've been using levoxyl sodium and have no

problems at all. Everyone says armour is amazing and the most natural one among

all. Well as soon as i fell good with levoxyl, it's fine. The problem is that

there's no certain solution for thyroid diseases, i've changed 4 docs and each

one says the same thing more or less.. maybe we should wait for the stem cell

treatments :)

I wish you get well too

Hi Ingrid

Thanks for letting me know about the supplements you've been taking. I'm happy

for you there was no need for surgery. In addition to what you take, i suggest

you to use energy therapies on your thyroid and work on 5th chakra. I try reiki

on my neck, in long term it might work.

I consider about taking Thytropin to help reconstitute my thyroid gland but

my doc says i shouldn't take anything else as soon as i'm stable and feeling

good.

Wish you get better

I can not find the name of the center, it should be listed if you google Thyroid

Cancer Research Centers. You have to be careful because a lot of things that

people do to get better stimulate the thyroid which is not good if you have

thyroid problems. The number one thing that has helped my son is we went

completely on a vegan raw diet for 9 months, I did it with him. Always low

sodium and watch your chlorides because they tend to like thyoid tissue. Also no

chicken, I never really found out why no chicken, we followed all of the advice

and it made a world of difference. He also drinks carrot juice (fresh) and fresh

fruit juices. He takes psyllium husk powder since people with thyroid problems

tend to have colon problems as well. He also drinks a lot of different teas. His

favorite is green with fenugreek and a dash of lemon sweetened with honey.

Good Luck,

Patty Alexander

My blood pressure is quite low, because I am on a

special diet... mostly vegetables... I usually avoid

all foods that inhibit thyroid function. My doctor is

amazed that I am doing as well as I am. He was sure

that I would have to take hormones for the rest of my

life. I cannot say that it is always easy to stay

away from certain foods--especially during the

holidays--but it certainly is worth the effort. I

feel good most of the time, even though I have other

health issues. Living in Europe during the war, I

went through starvation, dysentery, typhoid fever,

chronic middle ear infection, chronic constipation,

etc. About twenty years ago, I have been told that I

may have two years to live.

My diet and supplements have helped me so much that I

can honestly say that I feel better now in my old age

than I ever did before...

Everybody has different problems and may react

differently to any kind of remedies. I am just

grateful that I found a way to help myself--so far...

Ever since I found this group, I have discovered more

remedies and have started a notebook for reference.

Thanks to all the people, who share their knowledge.

Ingrid
