If you have white looking spots on the bottom of you feet that looks

kind of like a white area under the skin chances are you have

something called planters warts. They are usually pretty sore and it

hurts to walk on them, kind of like walking on a bruise. I got one of

these things about 10 years ago and it took about a week of research

to find out exactly what it was and how to get rid of it so I

can save you some time if you have one. I got it a few days after

staying in a motel on a business trip.

Planters warts are caused by a virus and yes, they are very contagious

and are spread by contact. If you have one, chances are someone else

in your family will catch it from you if you do not take the right

precautions. First, if they step anywhere you have stepped with bare

feet they will probably get it. If you have one of these it is very

important that you do not walk around in your bare feet and spread it

around. Clean the shower or tub with clorox after taking a bath, also

wear flip flops or some sort of shoes any time you take your shoes

off. You can pick one of these up at a swimming pool, shower or any

place someone who has one has stepped with bare feet.

To get rid of it:

Use a new razor blade and carefully remove the thick dead skin that is

on top and around the immediate area of the wart. The goal here is to

get down to where the wart is at but be carefull not to actually cut

live skin, just remove the thick dead skin. The wart will look similar

to a white blister under the skin. The longer you have it the bigger

it gets. Apply an over the counter wart remover that contains

salicylic acid. There are a number of them that are available over the

counter at your local drug store (Wart Off is the brand I used).

The application of the wart remover will begin to very slowly dissolve

the skin and kill the virus because it is an acid but it does it so

slowly it does not hurt at all and is not painful in any way. Apply

this several times a day, just put it on right on top of the old

application, no need to remove it. You will see improvement in 3 to 4

days and total healing could take up to 2 weeks, all according to how

bad it was and how far it had spread when you started treating it.

If you are a diabetic you do not want to use the salicylic acid. You

probably need to consult a physician and use the freezing method to

kill it instead.

Thanks for sharing the tips!

I just want to clear up some language.

This is not meant as criticism, Earth knows

I produce my share of typos.

Warts on the bottom of the feet are

called plantar warts, because they are

on the plantar side of the foot. If they

were on top they would be called dorsal

warts.

The name sounds like they " plant " themselves

in your foot, and because you walk on them

and that drives them into the flesh, it may

seem that way. But they are just plain

ordinary warts in a different place.
