Allergic Reaction to Homeopathic Remedy?

I told a client about homeopathic Rhus Tox (poison ivy) for treatment of

arthritis/fibromyalgia. She tried it and broke out in hives. Ended up

having to get a predisone prescription from her MD. I always understood

that the dosage in homeopathic remedies was so minimal that it couldn't

trigger side effects like this. Any thoughts/ideas?

yes, some people 'prove' a remedy. Which means that they get what it is

supposed to cure even from small doses. And it will happen with whatever

she takes. I, unfortunately, are also one of those people and have to stay

away from anything that will give me 'symptoms' of any kind.... took

Lycopodium once and my eyes were so itchy it was unbearable.

She was most likely tossed into a cleanse. The skin is one of the

organs in the body that helps secrete toxins. The homeopathic kick-

started that action. Most homeopaths will tell you that when you get

a reaction like that, it's because it's the correct remedy.

While there is a 'minimal' amount of the original substance in

homeopathic remedies, it is enough to stimulate the body's natural

healing response. Some people are more sensitive than others. While

I'm sure you were only trying to help your client, for a chronic

imbalance such as this, she should really be seen by a homeopath.

That way, the correct remedies and dosages can be prescribed; and if

there is a reaction, the client has somebody to follow up with.

When we take homeopathy, in some cases, the disease aggrevates first.

This is very good sign as far as homeopathy is concerned. Later on

the medicine starts working and shows the positive result. I have never

heard of side effect on homeopathy. It may be a coincident.

Rememebr, homeopathy is symptom based and Rhus tox necessarily should work

on all. It would have been better if a doctor studies her symptoms and

prescribes right medicine in right dose.

Why not tell her to take Noni herbal fruit juice twice a day. It works on

both without any side effect. Log into www.noniassociation.net for more

information.

Try using Tiger Balm, I have used this product for leg cramps and it

works great. Takes a few minutes to kick in after applying so use

sparingly:

Good luck,

I don't know if you are an expereinced/trained Homeopath, but Rhus

Tox may not have been indicated for her. Her particular case profile

may have required a different remedy or a particular dose of the Rhus

Tox. When considering deep-seated disorders as

arthritis/fibromyalgia, a constitutional remedy is probably indicated

and that needs a trained homeopath.

I apologize if I stepped on anyone's toes.

I think she might want to look elsewhere for the cause of the hives.

My understanding is that there is not enough of the substance to

cause a reaction. As my old homeopath would say, " there isn't

anything there " !

I did have a reaction to one remedy but it was dizziness and nausea

and the Naturopath that prescribed it said it was because it was the

wrong remedy.

I have Environmental Illness and at my worst I was having allergic

reactions to literally nearly everything I put into my body but

never had a problem with homeopathics.

I'm interested in hearing from others about this.

Hi,

in homeopathy rhus tox is one such remedy which ,if prescribed in skin

ailments, can produce severe to mild reactions. however, it can be controlled by

giving just one dose of a higher potency.hence its better not to suggest RHUSTOX

in SKIN diseases, unless you are near the patient.

In Homoeopathy there is no such medicine which 'reacts for sure'. It will be

entirely wrong to consider that rhus tox reacts when given for skin treatment.

Moreover, it will be more wrong to suggest that a higher potency will bring

relief. Not necessarily!!

Rhus Tox need not necessarily react when given for skin treatment. The key to

homoeopathy lies in its unique combinations that suit differently to different

people based on each person's medical history, heriditory traits and lifestyle.

Hence, there are no perfect/prescribed medicines for any type of treatment. One

set of medicines can cure your neighbour but the same set and dozes may not

bring you the same relief, and that's what generally people tend to do.

Therefore, many fail to trust this system of medicine and turn to alopathy. But

its certainly a fool proof way to cure if given by a proper homoeopath.

Everything revolves round combinations of medicines in this stream of

medicine, and therefore no one medicine is ever enough to cure a disease/illness

completely. It is always better to go to a proper homoeopath and get yourself a

complete treatment.

i took one file of  rhus tox 30 for my rheumatoid pain  4 months ago and came out in the most horrendeous rash which i still have today? i have never suffered with my skin all my life (i am 65) to add to this nightmare the GP prescribed Flucloxillian (antibiotic) which in turn caused jaundice!

the rash appears to be every bit like the despriptions i have read for people suffering from poison ivy. it is dreadfull and seems like it will never end?!
