My very simple health tip

Hi all,

I've been making the following recipe for at least 30 years...probably an

adaptation of someone elses but hey...after this length of time it has

metamorphosed to become mine.

I often add turmeric and vary the amount of ingredients as to what is to hand

or, if I feel like spicy, I'll add more chilli. Some of the family use this as a

chutney!

Obviously I take it for 6 days a week only (bad grin).

I apologise if something similar has been posted before but anyway, you can't

have too much of a good thing.

'LONG-LIFE JUICE'

Contrary to what you may think, this juice is delicious. The constituents are

traditionally reputed to help to

counteract excessive blood clotting, help control diabetes, lower cholesterol

and blood pressure and keep flu' and cold bugs at bay. In addition, it can help

to reduce inflammation. It can be used as a substitute in any of the complaints

that recommend garlic oil capsules.

Make a fresh 'batch' every 3-4 days. Don't refrigerate unless the weather is

really warm.

Take 2-3 teaspoons (10-15ml) 3 times daily. I enjoy eating the chopped mixture

but if this doesn't appeal, just drink the juice.

To make:

1 very finely chopped onion

4 very finely crushed garlic cloves

1/4 - 1/2 finely chopped small red chilli

2-3 teaspoons finely grated ginger

1 teaspoon grated horseradish

Juice of 1 lemon

Runny honey to cover

Method

Put the onion and garlic in a jar, pour the lemon juice over. Mix well.

Pour honey into the jar until the contents are well covered, stir and put more

honey if needed. Put a lid on the jar.

I wonder if Agave syrup would have the same effect in terms of

preserving the mush without the sugar hit or candida-feeding

tendencies of the honey.....
