Guest guest
Hello, I hope I don't annoy people with the amount of posts I write in. I just love the group conversations and it motivates so much. As I buy most of my crystals at the moment off ebay, I come across lots of references of A grade, AA grade or even AAA grade. Also gems which are used in the jewelery side of things. Can anyone explain whether a 'gem' is more or less powerful than the same in 'crystal' form (tumbled/raw). Is the difference only to do with the beauty and cost? What makes a 'gem' a gem? Examples are Ruby. I have a ruby tumblestone and it is nothing like the precious stone Rubies you get in jewellery. So is it essentially the same stone in terms of healing or are they completely differnt? Also a crystal wih a hole drilled through it... would you say that is an injured crystal? Could we still use it in a grid? Thanks Anjani

Guest guest
Sorry I hit the wrong button and it posted before I finished typing. As for a gem, I consider it to be just the same healing as a raw crystals. A gem has been cut and polished into a beautiful shape that the particular crystal wanted to be. It's shape may have been changed but not the chemical composition or color. A tumbled stone has been changed just as much as a gem has. As for using it in a grid, listen to your heart and intuition. The crystal or stone will let you know if it is right to use. I hope this helps. Peace, Love and Hope. Guest guest
Hi Chris and O, i see things a bit differently. I do agree that the chemical composition is the same for the purposes of sympathetic resonance...speaking to like minerals and metals in your body....and energy field....but when it comes to natural VS polished.....there is an inherent geometry to the unpolished outer shape of the crystal which can direct the energy flow of the crystal. So the geometry...aside from only the internal lattice structure.....has it's own significance. For example...a natural unpolished quartz crystal ...thru it's termination and the c-axis of the crystal.....will stream energy....with heat or pressure. When a crystal is polished...this still happens BUT....most crystals are not polished exactly along the natural axis and so you do not know " unless you take the time to do a subjective read " the direction of energy flow. I really enjoy working with double terminated crystals because their inherent capabilities is to send the energy in both directions. This is valuable when working with grids, in between chakras.....or lay lines. To place a tumbled or polished stone in between can enhance those energies as well....as the quartz family ..in particular...is able to amplify what it comes in contact with. This work is measurable and has been well documented by the earlier crystal writers....who were also true scientists. As for faceted they have a measureable effect as well....I would just wonder...depending on the crystal...if their natural lattice formation has been taken into consideration. I know the work of Marcel Vogel did. Guest guest
~~~jane doe <divinetrinitywellness About the double terminated crystal.? I was told when using these to make sure to hold the other end away from your self.? Also to use one that is at least 5 to 6 inches long if you use it for this.? I have seen what they call (razor) crystals that are very thin and double terminated that have been used on people.? ?Do you find that to be true?~~~~ ~coughing into hand to muffle " bullshit " ~ ;-) I really do detest when people come up with crap like this that seems to instill a sort of fear with certain types of crystals. It is no different working with a particular formation (single terminated, double terminated, Isis face, etc) of crystal then it is working with a particular type (garnet, quartz, etc). You work with then in whatever fashion suits you and feels right to you. The only type of warnings about crystals/minerals/stones I pay attention to are those the pertain to ingesting elixirs made with their energies, since there are some that are toxic if not done using an alternate method (not soaking the crystal directly in your water) I have pointed DTs at many different spots on my body including the chakras. I have also sat face to face with another person and " played " with the energies of crystals, pointing a DT at both of us and then turning it around to feel the difference in the energy flow from the opposite end. It is actually quite fun and interesting to say the least! So ,,,, if you want to point the DT directly at you ... go right ahead?if that is what feels right for you. Blessings to your eve all. Guest guest
Hey Rebecca ....I sent an e-mail responded and agreeing with the comment that DT crystals did not need to be 5 or 6 inches long and point away from the body. I did not know you were referring to Vogels. And while I do not know about pointing away from the body...they may have meant in relationship to pulling away negative energies from the energy fields of the body in order to cleanse. As for the size...the technique is Vogels and I am sure there may be good reason as they are not standard double terminateds and cut with a certainly frequency. My apologies, Dawn Silver Jewels of the Lotus Oracle ps ...did you get a specific book of his? I am alwasy interested in more of his info. --- On Tue, 2/17/09, jane doe <divinetrinitywellness wrote: jane doe <divinetrinitywellness Re: [CrystalHW] Re: Gems v Crystals Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 8:24 AM --- On Sun, 2/15/09, Dawn Silver <DawnSilver@ameritec h.net> wrote: " I know the work of Marcel Vogel did.
