Guest guest
Hello, All. My name is Rose, I'm 60, I live in rural upstate New York. I was a member of this group not too long ago. I suffer from hypervigilence associated with a traumatic event - a fire, to be specific. This happened about 20 years ago and only until recently had I realized the effect it actually had on me. I also suffer from PTSD associated with my childhood, but I do believe that eventually subsided until the fire when it all came back to me. I'm looking for a New Age healing modality that would help with the hypervigilence. Hypervigilence may not sound like much but it interrupts my life, it prevents me from moving forward and it keeps me in a state of fear and expectation. I'm thinking that since hypervigilence may be more associated with the " lizard brain " or the limbic system, that perhaps something less intellectual and more primitive and earth-related might help. I'm thinking of shamanism or working with crystals, etc. If any one would care to comment or to offer other modalities, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Dear Rose, My partner has PTSD and hypervigilence due to childhood trauma. She has been on an amazing self-healing journey for about 10 years, 4 of which I have been privileged to witness. Crystals have helped her learn to stay in her body, specifically grounding stones like smoky quartz, black tourmaline and obsidian. Reiki attunements have helped her understand her own energies. Working with her guardian angels has helped her feel protected. But as far as easing actual symptoms of PTSD, the method that has seemed to help the most is EFT or tapping, the Emotional Freedom Technique. The manual to learn the technique is free and can be found at www.emofree.com along with many helpful articles. She has a couple of books and cds out but from personal experience I can tell you that her techniques for sedating triple warmer along with the basic five minute drill are very effective for hyper vigilance and other issues there is a lot you can do for yourself in her books and if there is a certified practitioner near you That could also be valuable for you. Guest guest
Hi! I have been though abusive relationships and also have origins in Shamanism. Crystals ....especially Tigers Eye, Amathest, Garnet, and Lepidolite. Just remember that healing is a process, and it takes some much longer to heal than others. No matter what healing modality, the process is to confront it and letting go of the pain. Have you ever tried deep breathing or rebirthing? That is very transformative!!!! Please take care! Guest guest
Hi Rose, I think there are many possibilities open to you,, it just depends on what appealls. Flower Essences gently help release negative emotions and fears, replacing with positive. Other thoughts are EFT, Hypnotherapy, reflexology, aromatherapy, crystals of course ;- ) etc, etc, etc.... Guest guest
Concerning hypervigilence, have you trried any type of dream therapy,or perhaps creative visualization which would include some type of improvement or possible cures. I am interested but ignorant of your condition. I have been able to overcome severe headaches thru prep and creative dreams aimed at lessening of my symptoms.
