Guest guest
Results: After 3 years, 131 subjects were contacted, and 123 had repeat MRI. The 3-year incidence of pain was 67% (88 of 131). Depression had the largest hazard ratio (2.3, 95% CI = 1.2-4.4) of any baseline predictor of inci-dent back pain. Among baseline imaging findings, central spinal stenosis and nerve root contact had the highest, though nonsignificant, hazard ratios. We did not find an association between new LBP and type 1 endplate changes, disc degeneration, annular tears, or facet degeneration. The incidence of new MRI findings was low, with the most common new finding being disc signal loss in 11 (9%) subjects. All five subjects with new disc extrusions and all four subjects with new nerve root impingement had new pain. Conclusion: Depression is an important predictor of new LBP, with MRI findings likely less important. New imaging findings have a low incidence; disc extrusions and nerve root contact may be the most important of these findings. Guest guest
Hello! A couple things that may help, or be worth thinking about...Stretching helps my back pain a lot. In my case, it feels like back pain but is at least in part because of frequent Kidney issues (Frequent stones/infections in the right one only)... but the stretching, and drinking lots of water helps enormously!! Even if it is actual muscle strain, hydration makes a huge difference. I remember seeing some good back stretches listed in the files... might be worth checking it out. I don't know too much about Devil's Claw... but if it's the lower right, unless it's your hip, it's probably not joints... Guess it could somehow be connected to your spine, but then the chriopractor should have helped? Who knows... Anyway, just something to think about: maybe the pain is actually attributed to an organ rather than a joint or muscle? To try and determine this, maybe monitor not just physical activity but also your diet, how you lay when you sleep, and what times of the day, week, month, etc it is at it's worst... Personal meditation, time for you, etc also works wonders, esp if there are stressful emotional situations near by...Hope this helps lead you to some relief! Blessings and Love Always ~Raavenhggn_jnn <jo131078 wrote: Hi can any one help! Guest guest
It's probably not a joint issue. Your psoas ( " SOH-az " ) muscle is probably in spasm/short-tight on the affected side. This muscle is a major pelvic stabilizer and is involved in practically any movement. It attaches on the lower vertebrae, and if the muscle is in spasm or is otherwise short-tight, it will pull on its attachments on the spinal vertebrae and will cause low back pain. I see (and solve) this problem in MANY of my clients. See a good massage therapist who knows how to work with psoas issues (in other words, NOT your local " Massage Envy " lol). Chiropractic can help (at least with any vertebrae that DO get pulled a bit too far to the affected side), but only if the muscle problem is relieved also (otherwise the adjustment will probably " undo " itself), since that muscle is almost 100% sure to be the cause. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me. Hope that helps! Good luck getting better! Guest guest
f you can get access to a heated swimming pool, Get an innertube and just hang with out touching the bottom of the pool. Then gradually ad milk cartons with half water. Stand with feet slightly apart and bring them over your head, or as high as you can.Do this five times. Then try to pull them under water. They move them through the water from side to side. Not only will this help stretch out the back muscle but it also works as a weight system. You can ad excersice to your routine. Just go to water theraphy .com and see what excersice they have on thier website. I've experimented with almost everything. In my opinion, there is no herb for that. The only thing that worked for me is strengthing the muscles in the back. I do with weights and with yoga (stretching). Once my back is stronger the back pain is gone, and I'm way way way more flexible. So, that is the best advice I can give you and it doesn't involve a pill or some wild juice from another country. As always start out slowly when using the weight machines at the gym. I think I started out with 5 pounds and worked my way up. Hope this helps you. Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Curtis ! Your problem can be successfully answered by homoeopathy, if you are interested. I am homoeo consultant for last twenty years. Send your details of problem like, when you feel more whether it is more while you are on move or more when you are sleeping and which part of day you feel most of pain. Guest guest
First of all they does not require surgery. I don't believe that supplement will work universally. This is over exaggeration or a tricky advertisement. Guest guest
NO-it is not a tricky advertisement, nor did I say it would work universally. A supplement can do wonders for some people and zilch for others. The trick is finding what works best for you. And yes, the doctors did recommend surgery for both of them. The reason they don't do the surgery is because they have talked to more people who have NOT gotten any relief from back surgery. The horse supplement gives them relief from the back pain. Many horse owners take it themselves.__________ ________________________ > The all-new Mail beta > Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. > http://new.mail. >

Guest guest
Dr. Vidhyasagar: No supplement or presecription works universally - I'm sure you would agree to that? What works for one may not work for the other. That said - Bigeloil - a local Veterinary Aid DOES help some people with relief from strained muscles, reduces swelling caused by minor arthritis and treats sore knees, tendons and temporary injuries. It has an antiseptic action. Interestingly - two of the ingredients are capsicum tincture and juniperberry oil. Bag Balm is another veterinary aid for pets and cows that also works for some humans for chapped conditions and superfical abrasions. This has been in use since 1899. Just an old country girl from Arizona,USA horse country. Just can't beat those old home remedies. Guest guest
Hey Helen! Another horse person here (from Michigan). I can attest to Bigeloil and Bag Balm working well. If you want a really great cut cream - use Pocket Healer from The Natural Pet Vet. It's incredible on cuts of any time. Guest guest
If nothing shows up on your orthpedist's x-ray, you might take those x-rays to an osteopath or a chiropractor. They look at them a little differently. The problem may lie simply in the muscles, for which a massage therapist of physical therapist may be your solution. A craniosacral therapist or structural integrator may also be able to help you. As far as keeping your back healthy, the first thing you might do is evaluate your activity level. If this happened during a weight lifting session, there may be something in your exercise that puts your back at risk. Are your weights too heavy? Are you lifting correctly? Are you elongating those muscles before and after lifting with stretching? Getting regular massage? A session or two with a weight trainer may help you get your routine corrected. Is there something work-related that may be harming your back. Also, look to your nutrition. Are you getting enough protein and other nutritional factors to rebuild your muscles after you lift? Enough calcium for your bones? Look to your posture. Americans are notorious slouchers, which over time wears out a perfectly good back. T'ai Chi has been very helpful to me for my posture. Are there weight lifting organizations in your area that may give you some training and wellness tips? Guest guest
Go see a massage therapist if one is available where you are. If it is a muscle issue, there aren't many who are better trained or able to work with it! Muscle spasms are created because the body is attempting to release the tension stored in the area, but due to certain stresses and electrical signals being sent to the area, the muscle cannot release and just " let go and relax. " Biofeedback helps for this sort of thing too... Just a thought or two. Guest guest
Couple of things that cause back ache: 1.Improper fitting shoes and high heels. Heels should never be over 1/2 " in height. Beside High heels create terrible swayback and throws spine completely out of alignment and cause bunions from misalignment of the balls of the feet. 2.Tight jeans don't allow the proper movement of the spine and bind it. 3.Improper lifting. You should bend at the knee and lift, not bend over and pick up. 4.Sitting at a desk without feet being proped up 8 " or more puts strain on the lower back. Just a few tips the Dr. gave me for my back. Guest guest
Hi, Dawn, I had just hurt my back, and could hardly stand and walk. It happened at work moving chairs I was Ok at the time but two hours later sitting at my desk I decided to get up and run an errand. I stood up and felt great pain to my lower back, then I had calls to report to different locations, I sat down and notice pressure to the lower back. I went home in pain. the next morning I went to the doctor who put me out for 1 week. Last night I went to a great massage therapist, when I walk in to see him. I need my cane, when I came out I was walking out normal, just a little soreness. A Massage therapist can do wanders. Guest guest
To be taken only as a hint or clue. As per Edgar Cayce, irritable colon/bowel is one of the reasons for backache. Allergy to trees also can cause problem. Problem appear seasonal, in spring & in monsoon when trees are in blooming. Guest guest
I would like to suggest to you Bowen Therapy. The great thing about Bowen Therapy for Back Pain is that is strengthens the back so treatment for your back should get less and less. Its pretty well instant and a very gentle solution for Back Pain. For someone in your area you can go to the official site: http://www.bowtech.com Also check out the Sanjaneevini Healing Cards - they are free to print out and use. If you place a food product that you use on a regular basis (milk or jug of water?) you will be getting a homeopathic dose each time you drink it. http://www.bowentherapy.homestead.com/healingcards.html All the best Diana Moore New Zealand http://www.cafepress.com/omsymbol
