Not finding enough time or ways to get all of your fruits and vegetables?

In my nutritional status through Spectracell Labs, I find that my anti-oxidant levels are good, but not optimal. So, even though I eat my fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, I still find it useful to take extra "greens" or "reds" as well. Some of the products that I like best include: Designs for Health Paleo Reds and Designs for Health Paleo Greens. I also really like Allergy Research Group's PEA-Rich. For more information on nutritional testing or products contact: Aubrey or call 828-645-7224.

Your Tip:Why Foods Really Are Our Best MedicineThis morning as I flipped through my email, I was struck again by the power of food.

Here are some of the new research articles that came in the last couple of weeks from NutraIngredients USA .

Find time for tea to slash stroke risk - Blueberries may reduce childhood cancer risk - Cinnamon may improve blood sugar levels - Egg proteins may reduce blood pressure- Coffee may reduce women's risk of stroke- Probiotics may prevent childhood infections- Vitamin C rich foods may boost artery health- Study hints at green-lipped mussels' original omega-3 action- Cranberry extract may prevent colon cancer- Prebiotics and Probiotics boost quality of life for IBD - sufferers- Study raises hope for omega-3 and female depression- Fruit juices beat vitamin E for artery health- Apple juice may offer Alzheimer's protection

These studies are just the tip of the iceberg. In previous tips, I've discussed the research on blueberries, omega 3's, cranberries, cinnamon, and many other foods.Do you see a pattern? Eating "real" food can help us be healthier today while preventing serious disease occurrences in our future.

What you don't see on this list is potato chips (although I wish that we could find some great healing benefit there...I do love their flavor!), soft drinks, non-dairy creamer, sugar substitutes, processed foods, genetically engineered foods, or denatured fats. The take away: Eat as many whole, real foods as possible. Eat as few processed denatured foods as possible.
