Guest guest
Interesting info on the thyroid medication.... CyndiLooking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Read reviews on AOL Autos. Greetings! After being away from home for almost five months, I returned last week to find that the toilet in my green remodel bathroom had was running...uh oh! Read below about how tiny leaks can not only waste 1000s of gallons of water, but result in huge water bills! I can tell you all are reading this newsletter! This week there were 115 comments on my Green Living Q&A blog. One of the highest number of comments ever! Keep them coming! Debra :-) IF YOU TAKE ARMOUR THYROID... Armour Thyroid is currently in back order on some strengths due to a process change in manufacturing. They are currently not manufacturing 2, 3, 4, and 5 grain tablets. They DO have .25, .5, 1, and 1.5 grains. Last time I filled my prescription, I took the last 105 tablets from that pharmacy and they said they couldn't get any more. Last weekend my local pharmacy had none and said they couldn't get them. I suspect that some of you are having this problem too. If your pharmacy tells you they do not have your dose in stock, and cannot get them because they are on back order, this isn't true. The manufacturer, Forest Laboratories told me that they DO have the smaller doses in stock now. They said to tell your pharmacy to call their wholesaler and ask for a "drop ship order". I just did this yesterday morning and my pharmacy called me back and said their wholesaler would be getting a shipment in tomorrow and they placed an order for me. If, in fact, it doesn't arrive, then we'll all have to figure out what to do next. Armour is the only thyroid supplement I can take. When we got home, five weeks later, the toilet in our bathroom was running. It wasn't running when Larry left, so we assumed our cat-sitter used the toilet and left it running. It wasn't her fault. She didn't know our toilet had special flushing instructions and we hadn't posted them. We're actually trying out a prototype of a water-saving product that I can't discuss and it wasn't working right. But Larry and I had figured out how to use it so it would save water. We just hadn't left any instructions, not expecting anyone to use the toilet. We don't know how many days the toilet was running, but the water bill was over $400! In less than 30 days, with no other use whatsoever, this toilet leaked more than 32,000 gallons of water...more than 1,000 gallons a day! Our average usage is about 3800 gallons a month, or about 62 gallons per day for each of us for bathing, drinking, cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Why our water providers did not take action to stop this waste of precious water is beyond me. I guess it was more important to collect the money than conserve water. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how expensive a small water leak such as this can be. And remind you that water conservation in general is as important as having safe, clean water. I saw Sergeant's Nature's Guardian squeeze on product and their powder. The package says it is "natural". The ingredients listed are peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, lemon grass oil, clove oil, thyme oil, vanillin, and isopropyl myristate. The powder has the same oils but has silicic acid, calcium salt, carbonic acid, monosodium salt, and calcium carbonate. Do you think these "natural" products are safe? Thanks for your help. I'm a bit confused as to what to avoid re mould and mildew and I'm worried that I might buy a place, only to discover there's a hidden mould problem that's expensive or impossible to fix. I've just found a property that I like.. and, of course, it's on the ground floor. It's a 1930s building with floorboards, which I assume are sitting without furter insulation above the dirt below, which probably has some mould/mildew.. I wondered how much mould spores can actually come through timber floors.. And whether there are any reliable ways to check that out.. I also wondered whether you can wax floors or do something that will keep them to be more airproof. I did find small mould growths on most of the windows (not at all unusual in sydney) and on one of the walls.. but otherwise, it had a lot going for it. Would value any advice or experience in this matter. Thanks, KatRead the answer... Dietary SupplementsHi Debra Could you share with us what supplements you take? I have a question about PVC blinds. I am shopping for blinds for my home and wonder if aluminum is a better choice than faux wood blinds that are made from PVC or vinyl. The faux wood blinds look great but I wondered if they outgas especially if they are on a window that gets a lot of sun. My windows get a lot of the afternoon sun and wood blinds tend to warp in the heat. Do you or any readers have any suggestions. Thanks, Marie, Los AngelesRead the answer... Cotton underpants socksI am looking for cotton underpants without elastic at the legs, but the finish of the same cloth, in the form of a band. Anyone have an idea where to find some? I have a guitar body that I painted and finished with auto body clear coat, its been two weeks and it has a very light odor, the clear coat is very hard. I don't know the exact curing time, but the odor seems to be coming more from the wiring cavity then the body. I am wondering if this is hazardous, should I wait to use it or will this finish be emiting this odor for quite some time.Read the answer...
