How to find EMF-safe location to move to My son is very sensitive to EMFs including those from towers and power lines. How do I find a safe area to move to? The site antennasearch.com has helped tremendously with towers, but now even telephone poles are a problem. They are everywhere here in southwestern PA, except in neighborhoods we can't afford. Our doctor says in Tennessee all wires are grounded in coaxial cable and do not effect people. We don't want to move that far if we don't have to. How do I find areas with where wires are protected? (or any other ideas?) Please help. Thank you, Marie Read the answer... Are there any nontoxic shoes? Has anyone noticed that so many shoes today smell really toxic? For example, Merrell makes really comfy shoes but they smell so toxic and awful my eyes start to sting. Other shoes that are made of leather don't smell good when you first get them but one senses they will outgas and are not as toxic. It's hard to find comfortable shoes and sandals that are made of high quality healthy leathers and glues. Does anyone agree? What do you20wear? I wear SIMPLE sneakers often in the winter, and I'm wearing an old pair of TEVA hiking sandals, and also leather thongs from Aerosoles that are nice quality and don't smell bad at all. But I ordered a few pairs of comfortable sandals online, a pair of Merrell and a pair of Anne Klein. The Anne Klein smells bad but I'll keep it as I think it will offgas over time. The Merrell was just unbearable even tho the design was great. Sometimes when I walk into shoe stores the smell of all those vinyl shoes overwhelms me. Read the answer... Paper or plastic for garbage bags Which is more "green": To line my kitchen trash can with paper bags from the grocery store, then put them in a large plastic bag until we can haul them to the county trash site, or to line the can with small plastic bags, which won't have to into a larger bag?? I have recently been drinking it and I wanted to know how benefical it is if at all. 0D Read the answer... non toxic tent? Hello, Thanks for running the great site again. Are most tents treated with fire retardant and formaldehyde? Is it possible to buy a non toxic tent and camping gear? Or should we just give up camping? Thanks so much. Read the answer... Looking for used T-shirts I was inspired to re-purpose old t-shirts after reading "Let My People Go Surfing" by the founder of Patagonia clothing, who said "The most responsible way for a consumer and a good citizen to buy clothes is to buy used." They're the greenest tees. So I started collecting people's donated used t-shirts and put them on www.teecycle.org, where I donate $1 from selling each shirt to restoring urban rivers in Milwaukee (where I live). It's gotten a great response so far. I'm still collecting old t-shirts, and if anyone is interested you can email me at tim (@) teecycle (dot) org on where to send them .. I'd greatly appreciate it!
