Hi I haven't posted much but have been lurking. I need help I found out

Wednesday , that

they want to do a quadruple bypass on me. I am only 58 and I have very blocked

arteries.

95%, 90%, I don't remember the others. I don't want to do the surgery. I want to

do

things like the dean ornish heart blockage reversal diet. If you know of any

others I

would appreciate it. I also want vitamins and minerals you might know of. I

also would

like any info as how to get through the surgery in the best shape I can . So

here too

vitamins etc.

Please help. I am a crying mess about now. They want to do surgery on the 12th.

Begin with the Dean Ornish diet and be sure to add lots of anti oxidents to

your daily regimin.

Ornish mentions some vitamins and minerals but make sure the following is

included.

The low HDL cholesterol that has blocked the arteries is oxidized

cholesterol. To keep the HDL-LDL ratio up you need anti oxidents with all

meals.

Here's the basic protocol.

ALA Alph lipoic acid. The mother of all antioxidents because it is not only

anti oxident on it's own but recyles the effect from your Vitamins E and C.

and is both fat soluble and water soluble so it works both side of the cell

walls.

Co Enzyme Q -10 [120mg.] This is the most expesnsive of the supplememts but

worth it.

..

Next a good Vitamin E. [400 ius of gamma and alpha].

Next 3000. mg of non acidic vitamin C named Calcium Ascorbate.

AND while you take your Vitamin C also take 3000 mg. of MSM [Methyl Sulfonyl

Methane] for it's anti inflammatory effect.

And with the Vitamin E, take 1 Tablespoonful of flax oil for your omega 3

EFA.

So before breakfast and before dinner:

=

100mg ALA.

120mg. CoQ10.

3 gr. Calcium Ascorbate.

3 gr. MSM.

400iu. Vit E.

I Tbsp. flax oil.

and one baby asprin once a day to hold back any clotting effects in the

blood.

-

This protocol added to your diet will induce the body to produce HDL instead

of LDL and will prevent cholesterol build up. However, the present

blockages in the vessels are a result of calcium deposits clinging to the

LDL cholesterol that has been deposited over the years and may be too far

gome to remove by diet alone. Listenm carefully to you aalopath and perhaps

get a second opinion from a naturopath.

Call 1-800-532-3699 (ACAM) American College of Advancement in Medicine, for

a referral for a 2nd opinion.

These physicians specialize in your problem. Chelation may be the answer.

I'm 79, had chelation, and walk up 44 flights of stairs every other day for

exercise - with no symptoms. Good luck to you!

Dear Laughing on the outside crying on the inside Bear,

Do not dispair... there are alot of things that you can do!!

here's one site.. http://www.dr-rath-research.org/home/index.php

" http://www.oralchelation.com/ .. I have used this formula myself!

I had 2 stents almost three years ago and asked the dr. about chelation

and he said it didn't work of course he had to pay for the new open heart

surgery wing at the hospital! I had minor symptoms with exertion in the

stress test, but they involved the whole family scareing the the daylights

out of them. Terms like " the widowmaker " when referring to veins that have

some plaque. I should have walked out like I wanted to do and checked out

" chelation " like I wanted to do! If its an emergency of course thats a

different matter! If I had it to do over again I would have started IV

chelation and then continued with oral chelation.... Hope this helped...

Here's my opinion :) Get Armour thyroid and have other hormones checked,

like DHEA. Find a smart ACAM doc or www.armourthyroid.com Use high

quality fish oil and don't skimp on good fats! www.westonaprice.org

Dear Laughingbear,

You are more than welcome. I wish that I was connected to the web when I

needed to make critical decisions. There is a wealth of information

available. Regardless of your decision you are more informed now than you

were this morning :<)

One of the first things I did after I realized that I had CVD was to join a

raw food group live-food originally it was " RAF " raw

animal foods and since have morphed into " RVAF " raw animal and vegetable

foods the group split and now theres another group at

paleodiet . I ate nearly 100% raw for 9 months, mostly

fish,beef,lamb, raw milk, kefir Kefir_making/

(fermented goats milk) and alot of fatty vegetables as well as fresh juced

vegetables, mostly green vegs. Now nearly three yrs later I am still nearly

75% raw and sometimes more. The other 25% vegs are lightly steamed and meats

are very rare. I don't think this is necessary only I prefer to eat this

way.

I also have added digestive enzymes on a daily basis even though I eat

mostly raw. I did this after I read the book The Enzyme cure By Dr. Lita Lee

shes not a physician but a Phd. I had some private emails and phone

conversations with her before she got her web site up and running a couple

years ago and I found her to be very friendly, informative and her site is

at http://www.litalee.com .

Another couple sites of interest may be

http://www.fimdefelice.org/libbooks.html ..Th carnitine defence by Dr.

Stephen Defelice as well as http://www.metabolictyping.com/index2.html I

prefer this over Dean Ornish.. william wolcott really adresses who you are

and what makes up you. Dr. Mercola jm has recently

recommended the metabolic typing diet recently, I have been eating right for

my type for over a couple yrs even before reading the book.

Anytime I go to any sites that I like I always check out their links list

and usually find other sites of interest.

best wishes to you Charles
