Guest guest
I am not trying to take this discussion personally and I hope you take my comments as a bit of enlightenment rather than telling you point blank you are being hyponotized by one of the snakes in the Cadesus symbol. The medical system in America, including the pharmaceutical system, revolves around money and peoples blind acceptance that their doctor is one of the best and brightest doctors in the world and would never do anything to hurt them. The allopathic system is just barely a step above the undertakers. Let me tell you a bit about myself.I come from a long line of doctors. I was president of my medical school class for three years and got to know very well the type of people who make up the medical establishment. It has very little to do with real intelligence as it does being able to accept and feed back information. The medical system weeds people out very early on who are going to challenge or question the status quo. That is why you see so many doctors from third world countries in America. They are certainly not going to challenge the system because they learned early on the value of prestige and money. , saba2r@a... wrote: > I'm not intending to argue about this, but what bugged me was the either/or mentality from some posters. Guest guest
Pau D'Arco should be simmered for about ten minutes to get all the herbal powers out of it. But even if you just steep it it packs quite a punch. I must admit I have never used Pau d'Arco by itself. It is part of the Shipibo Tea formula, together with Jatoba, Una de Gato, and a few others. Steep it extra long, ideally on heat. The heat pad of a coffee maker works well, or a good thermos bottle. Guest guest
I don't use it in tea form, I was told it has kind of a nasty taste to it lol. I use it in capsule form, taking two in the morning and two at night to get rid of sinus infections. For a really bad infection, I sometimes add Cat's Claw too...Mama Pau D'Arco should be simmered for about ten minutes to get all the herbal powers out of it. Guest guest
Dear Saba, A little bit more info for you. When I was in medical school in Galveston,Texas during the late 60's and early 70's I was assigned to an indigent ward at John Sealy hospital. This was in the days controled studiess but not double blind such as are performed now.Depending upon how the lead professor wanted the study to turn out the patients were assigned, not randomly but in full knowledge of how the people sponsoring the study and those conducting it wanted the results to reflect. In short, they were rigged. So what you say? What difference done over thirty years ago. It makes a difference in that those studies formed foundations on which directions of research would take. That is certain drugs and other protocols were accepted and expanded upon now as proper and benificial treatments when actually they were more harmful to the patient-particularily children- than realized. In other words they muddyed up the water and it is still muddyed. I can still point out to anyone some of these rigged experimental ground breaking studies if you want to go to a medical library and examine them for yourself. More later. , saba2r@a... wrote: > I'm not intending to argue about this, but what bugged me was the either/or mentality from some posters. All doctors bad - only alternative medicine good. Guest guest
I know quite a bit about the medical world myself. That's why I take offense at the dissing of quite a number of good and innocent people. I'm sorry you had such a negative experience. Guest guest
Hi Krissy, i'm sure by now you've received quite a lot of answers by now. Based on the fact that you've already visited a MD (GP) and he's identifid that there are some antibiotics that your son can take then as a general rule of thumb you should allow your son at least a 3 days to attempt to get over the infection on his own, with of course the assistance of yourself using recommended herbal remedies. (i've read many of the responses and theres a very good list of which to take). If after the 3 days your son is not getting any better (unless of course he has undergone some homeopathic remedies, then i would suggest taking antibiotics. Though after the cycle of anitibiotics i would suggest that your son eat as many healthy vegetables as possible to rid the sinus. May i ask how often does your son suffer from infected sinusitis ? regards Andy Anastasi , " krissy_texas " <krissy_texas> wrote: > When do you all think sinus infections need to be treated with > antibiotics? Guest guest
My best friends and some of the most intelligent people I know (outside of my favorite wife)are medical doctors and Chiropractors.I think what we need is a system that rewards successes, not propaganda fueled by uneducation of the masses and the often blind desire to create wealth. How do you do that?Quite simple. Just Like every other profession, there needs to be some sort of money back guarantee. If a doctor-and it makes no difference what kind- does good work and is successful with the patient's pathology-then he gets paid.If he or she doesn't then they don't get paid.Make it a rule that they have to keep score. That is make them keep records for all to see of their successes and failures. You don't have to name names of patients, but only conditions and results. That way, those who are the best doctors would quickly become known. That's the way it is for every other profession and it shouldn't be in less for the medical establishment. In regard to dicing innocent people,I can name several of my peers who after sending 100 patients to MD Anderson and seeing everyone of them come back in body bags are quite willing to send another 100.What I'm saying is most of them-not all-maybe not yours included- have long ago sold out to the system because the system guarantees them wealth and prestige if they just do what is told by the AMA etc. , saba2r@a... wrote: > I know quite a bit about the medical world myself. Guest guest
Hi Andy- This was my son's first episode ever with sinusitus (he's 7 1/2). He had an ear infection when he was 1 1/2 and that was the last time we'd used antibiotics. he had been sick for about 2 weeks prior to my taking him to the doctor. The difficulty that I have with Alex, is that he's 7 and he won't try quite a lot of the alternative options! I don't blame him on the nose rinse- that is a little icky! He did end up with an ear infection anyway, after the antibiotics. For that- I found a homeopathic remedy at the store. And then I had him take cold medicine twice (with the mucus thinner stuff- guayfenasine?) to get him all drained out. Thanks Krissy , " Andy " <andy_anastasi> wrote: > Hi Krissy, > > i'm sure by now you've received quite a lot of answers by now. > Based on the fact that you've already visited a MD (GP) and he's > identifid that there are some antibiotics that your son can take > then as a general rule of thumb you should allow your son at least a > 3 days to attempt to get over the infection on his own, with of > course the assistance of yourself using recommended herbal remedies. > (i've read many of the responses and theres a very good list of > which to take). > > If after the 3 days your son is not getting any better (unless of > course he has undergone some homeopathic remedies, then i would > suggest taking antibiotics. Guest guest
You raise some good points, but I'm not so sure the problem is " selling out " to the system as much as it is being trapped by the system nowadays. And we do need to remember that it is a profession and that's how they are making their living. There are quite a few things in place to monitor medical care (as well as the constant threat of being sued, whether a mistake is actually made or not). Compare it to corporations where execs walk away from a *failed* company with millions. That's why my hackles rose over the money comments. There are people *here* trying to make a buck. Most docs I've encountered are no more trying to take the money and run than anyone else - sometimes even less so. Guest guest
I have a co-worker in her fifties who refuses to do the rinses and stuff! So I'm sure a 7 year old doesn't want to! Guest guest
I'd love that deal of getting refunds for the alternative docs- I've got about $350 in to them with no help whatsoever. it would be nice if there were some online system to rate MD's though. everything from if their waiting room has cushy chairs, if they make you wait 2 hours- to more sustantial issues like if they actually *listen* to you. wonder why there isn't. I haven't met an MD yet, though, that's just in it for the money. they're smart guys to even make med school- there are a whole lot of professions where they could make a whole lot more money. it was the alternative doc that wouldn't return my call unless I left a credit card number. now if you want to say MD's get on a power trip.... that's another matter entirely. but again, I've seen it in alternative docs too. , saba2r@a... wrote: > You raise some good points, but I'm not so sure the problem is " selling out " to the system as much as it is being trapped by the system nowadays. Guest guest
It's really nasty but I had it done once by a doctor (old school doc- he was great) and it was such an incredible relief, I would totally do it again. like a superdose of sudafed without the jitters, the dry mouth, etc. etc. , saba2r@a... wrote: > I have a co-worker in her fifties who refuses to do the rinses and stuff! Guest guest
Dear Krissy, I couldn't help but note that you are from Austin.I know alot of people practicing medicine in Austin. Some of them are in it for the drugs, some of them are in for the sex, most of them do it because they can't do anything else. All of them are in it for the money. Now I'm not saying that is a bad trait.Afterall, most of us desire a comfortable existance and in America, just about like everywhere else, that takes money. Please don't fool yourself into thinking that overall doctors are smarter than most other people.Doctors, for the most part, are people who can sit down and study several hours a day and regurgitate what they learn in class and never question the system. If you don't do things like that they weed you out real early in the system that produces docs. That doesn't take intelligence, just a good memory Let me tell a few other things about medical students which you probably already know. I'm not tooting my horn but, like I said in an earlier post,I was president of my medical school class for three years at Galveston.I got to know-some very intimately, most fairly well.Out of my class of 150 or so guess into what specialty the ten went into that were the perverts and the misfits(in my opinion)in the class. You guessed it. , " krissy_texas " <krissy_texas> wrote: > I'd love that deal of getting refunds for the alternative docs- I've > got about $350 in to them with no help whatsoever. > it would be nice if there were some online system to rate MD's > though. everything from if their waiting room has cushy chairs, if > they make you wait 2 hours- to more sustantial issues like if they > actually *listen* to you. wonder why there isn't. > I haven't met an MD yet, though, that's just in it for the money. > they're smart guys to even make med school- there are a whole lot of > professions where they could make a whole lot more money. it was the > alternative doc that wouldn't return my call unless I left a credit > card number. > now if you want to say MD's get on a power trip.... that's another > matter entirely. but again, I've seen it in alternative docs too. > > > > , saba2r@a... wrote: > > You raise some good points, but I'm not so sure the problem > is " selling out " to the system as much as it is being trapped by the > system nowadays.
