Guest guest
Hi All, Yesterday I burned my face with hot oil whilst cooking. I quickly splashed cold water to removed the heat and in the process of doing so burst the blister - about 8mm diameter on my forhead. I have put egg skin on it as was the suggestion of my mum (actually it helped cool it also). My question is, what oils can I use to help with the healing and stop it from scaring? Do you think rosehip or comfrey might help? Rebecca
Guest guest
Dear Rebecca, Lavender, Lavender, and more Lavender essential oil in a base carrier oil applied to the blister very carefully. I have burned myself numerous times over the years while cooking and when I do so I reach for a small bottl of Lavender diluted in a base carrier oil for burns. I have a small 1/8 oz bottle of 10 drops Lavender (hey, gang I know that this is strong but I want fast action here to soothe and stop the burning) in a 90 to 100 drops of any base carrier that you have available. I start on the outside of the blister and work my way into it but this works. Then I keep reapplying every time I think about it or every few hours because of pain. Good luck on your blister. I know that it will heal quickly and soon. Guest guest
Nothing beats having a aloe type cactus near the kitchen window. Immediately break off a stem, and let the juice flow on the skin. Alway have one in the kitchen. This goes for oil and hot water burns normally found in the kitchen NOT FOR RAW FIRE burns....
Guest guest
just use real vanilla!!! Growing up we had a native Canadian cook and this is what she'd do for us. None of us ever had a scar no matter how bad the burn....do it NOW! Guest guest
Woops, I already applied neat lavender oil on it as i believed you can apply neat lavender (that and tea tree are the only common oils...or so i thought!) Oh dear! I think i will dilute it in rosehip oil then and apply. Thanks for your fast response. Rebecca I will use rosehip oil as the base then ATFE , " sos79 " <sos79 wrote: > > Dear Rebecca, > Lavender, Lavender, and more Lavender essential oil in a base carrier oil > applied to the blister very carefully.
