Yep .. that is why they are so funny to some but maybe not to others .. the

comments were appropriate for the characters who made them.

Thank you ma'am .. but .. I'm a tad confused. How does one eat venison

without first skinning the critter? ;-)

Interesting and tasty creature called " cutter-grass " in Sierra Leone

(or that is the best way to translate from the Mende). It may be a

small deer or a big something else; I've never seen it on the hoof,

only in chunks. (I prefer to at least supervise the slaughter of my

meals while I'm over there - no such thing as a butcher, nor

refrigeration when we're upcountry) (or electricity, phones, clean

water, and roads, neither).

Delicate flavor, not too gamy, but strong enough to withstand the West

Africa predilection to pour red pepper and palm oil over everything

remotely edible.

That reminds me of a funny story; my daughter came home from work one day and

said all the guys at work (she worked at the Dept. for Environmental Protection)

were very confused about her being a vegetarian.

They asked, what do you do with the meat after you go hunting, if you are a

vegetarian??

She looked at them and said; " I don't GO hunting! " They never even considered

that! Sue
