Guest guest Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 YEAH finally today was able to get links on the homepage of UnitedAromatherapy.org for the newspaper article in St.Pete Times- thanks Marcia for leaving comments on the site, wish all supporters would do the same and perhaps we would get more aid. In December our local paper Lutz News ran our story- http://atlanticinstitute.com/LutzNews_20091216.pdf United Aromatherapy Effort Expands Support to U.S. troops the young reporter is my client, known him since a little child! anyway he said if we do a fundraiser we can have more media so I was able to come up with a Valentine Day idea of sending troops cards for Valentines Day- to let them know we are keeping them in our hearts. We can ship to the SGs for distribution. I allowed my imagination to run wild so I envision 1400 valentine cards for the troops, each with a suggested donation of $1 (perhaps more to help with shipping costs) sent to Tampa before January 30 so I can mail to Afghanistan before the big day Feb 14. Cards can be store bought or hand made; large or small; funny or serious. They should be made out to any soldier in Afghanistan so the SG's can just hand them out. This would be a great project for groups, classes, or anyone open to the idea. I wanted to put the idea out now to give time for it to happen. This idea has already generated a contest with teachers in a local elementary school: the kids can make the cards and one teacher said she can match any donations (because she is in low income school). anyway I am throwing out my thoughts because I am not sure we are registered to fund raise yet so it is just an idea.....not an official fund raiser....not meant as solicitation...let me know what you think? if anyone thinks about it.....or if you would like to participate in this event.
