Guest guest
THank you all for sharing this. I'm not clear why Ayurveda doesn't talk about this, and invite input if vaidyas are listening in today. I've heard nothing but positive reports, though a friend who had intended to use hers and had precipitous labor was fine hers was thrown - there was infection in it. The infection was linked they said to some cervical or vaginal disease during 3rd trimester, and the odorus meconium that was released when waters broke and labor started, and Baby's rough start supposedly too ...until I said, why can't we put Baby in Mama's arms - the O2 equipment is on wheels? Baby stabilized right away. (Nurses were overworked with several sudden Cbirths at same time and happy to get Baby watch off their hands, so they didn't take much convincing once Baby's vitals stabilized so quickly!). How about a warm water bath? He relaxed and smiled, played with his hands in the water right away! If anyone has recipes for prep and use of the placenta, can you post or email and I " ll put in the files? Betsy, your husband is a regular medicine man, eh? Did he ever start working on the Arizona reservations, or is he still full on teaching music at the university? My husband whipped up a placenta shake literally right after the hemorrage scare and all my levels went up and I got color on my face almost immediately . For the weeks following he encapsulated the remainder of the placenta and I had absolutely zero ppd. With my first son I

Guest guest
Not heard of anybody using placenta here in India. Could not find any referance in texts either. But I feel placentaphagia does not seem to be against the ayurvedic principle of 'like increases/improves like' and placenta tissue deals mostly with raktadhatu -blood tissue. My guruji had used human blood for treatment of chronic anemias with good results. He used to give 1 teaspoon of blood from healthy volunteers. Vd. Guest guest
FAscinating, your guruji's use and the small amount being so effective to remind the receiver system how to reset. Thank you for being so candid. Namaste - Ysha > Not heard of anybody using placenta here in India. Could not find any referance in texts either.
