How this relates to perinatal ayurveda? I find it is not only very

tasty non-pitta aggravating, vata reducing delicious way to get ample

protein and hormonally supportive/immune enhancing/antidepressive

foods, but for folks like me who get phlegm from dairy so easily, like

in 2 days eating plain cottage or ricotta cheese, I can eat this 5 - 6

days a week, and my clients love it too. I offer it after the first

week or 10 days postpartum, and encourage moms to take it prenatally.

So it is very rejuvenative, building, calming, easy to digest, and

happens to be powerfully antitumoral as well. Any comments welcome

of course, I'm always open to learning more. Enjoy! Martha

Posting in the files (see to the left) also.

FRESH CHEESE WITH FLAX OIL VARIATIONS

This preparation digests without phlegm if you use it properly

(discontinue while sick), and is even used with GREAT success

according to friends of mine and per Dr. Johanna Budwig of Germany for

arthritis, heart problems, diabetes and cancer turnarounds.

(www.applepublishing.com for her books including cookbook; the $6.95

one is well worth reading for anyone wanting the understanding). One

serving is about 4 – 8 ounces of cottage cheese, less of panir.

• A serving of lowfat organic cottage cheese (if using panir or

ricotta, use less). Bring to room temperature.

• 2 TBS Highest Lignan Flax Oil (Barleans' brand really is different

in the lignan content, a key here)

• Season to your preference as options, below. My standard is ¼ - 1/2

tsp or more turmeric or curry powder, pinch or two of cardamom, opt ½

tsp honey (salt also if panir) and sometimes a piece of fresh ginger

root or grate it or pinch cayenne. I also prefer it with 3-4 drops of

organic oil of lemon; you can use some peel instead.

• Optional: 1 tsp bee pollen (don't use cheap stuff from China or

elsewhere – hard, baked out nutrients) This is optional, best used

separately sometime during the day, balances minerals, high B vites

and protein.

• Puree in a food processor or mix well. The intimate pureed

preparation of the sulphur bearing protein (cheese) with flax oil

makes a big difference, including for the heart. There the lipid (fat)

rich lymph empties into the venous blood and immediately it mixes with

oxygen rich blood creating (with electron rich fats) dynamic and

healthy electromagnetic energy in the heart. With cell wall function

and formation (lipoprotein I think it is called) this mix supports

both healthier transport back and forth, and minimizes cellular

stickiness which has been shown to build many health problems,

including cancers.

• Serve 1 – 2 TBS ground Flax seed over it with your choice of flat

bread, as dip, sauce for veggies or avocado, or on noodles or grain

dish.

Options to play with:

• Excellent to include pinch of cardamom, and/or serve sweet with

vanilla and/or few soaked saffron threads and honey

• Curry powder, chili powder, toasted cumin, Italian herb seasonings, etc.

• Salt, pepper, cayenne, fresh ginger, garlic

• Thin and take chill off if needed/desired with warm cream or fresh

yoghurt, kefir, whey, water or broth, but don't cook flax oil.

• Do not mix with banana; Dr. Lad says banana with dairy is

carcinogenic. For some, use of other fruits may possibly be ok

occasionally like strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, papaya although

Dr. Lad also recommends fruit with anything else should be avoided.

• Instead of cottage cheese try fresh hung yoghurt or kefir cheese; I

add the flax oil to lassi made with a little salt and toasted cumin seeds.

Here are a couple excellent websites on the subject of Johanna's

medical success and how this works.
