My information comes from a 1999 report from the council of colleges. (instead of 10,000 in school - 10,000 graduates: now 20,000 practitioners, 4,000 enrolled) No doubt that things have changed in the last 4 years - obviously more have graduated into the profession. None the less, that does not change the fact that 20,000 practitoners is a far cry from the handfull that were practicing in 1979 robbee
Guest guest
To everyone: Can we please be respectful on this list and take personal issues off list by emailing whomever you have a problem with directly? There is a nasty thread going and it's not the first time. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't really want this stuff in my inbox everyday. I'm interested in TCM, not personal anger. Moderators? Guest guest
Robbee The comparison was regarding several different organizations....one which has existed for 20+ years and one which has existed for 9 months. The only period we can compare is the growth during the last 9 months. The one existing for 9 months has equal or greater numbers of members to the one existing for 20+ years. Make of it as you will. There is no reason to compare back to 1979 when there was a handful practitioners. Nobody doubts that. It is highly doubtful that from 1999 to 2003 another 10,000 practitioners have become licensed. The only valid basis would have been from each state licensing board as to their active licensees and that is where the CAB informaton came from this July 2003. At the moment we can't vouch for CCAOMs figures from 1999 because no one knows from what source they were gathered. No doubt that some change has occurred in 4 years. Yet all of that is irrelevant to my post as I was only referring to 9 months of 2003. You can also go to ACAM.org and put in your zip code and get a list of alternative practitioners near you. A wonderful resource. Then you can ask around about the people on it and see what others think if you want. I usually follow my intuition once I have names. And if you are looking for a new therapy, Google it. I found someone who does prolotherapy that way. getprolo.com There are more sites, but that was good. Sue www.coachdrgridley.com
