Guest guest
Dear Herbalists, With the recent news that unsafe Genetically Engineered Corn destined only for Animals was recently put into Taco Shells, this alert will enable you to voice your views on the subject........Penny Khaled (wearing her Organic Consumers Association hat, sitting oh her charger and waving her sword) GE Food Alert Action Alert We need your help. Please forward this message to your friends and family who are concerned about genetically engineered ingredients. Like a lot of people, I'm concerned about genetically engineered ingredients. The recent news stories about Taco Bellâ Taco Shells have really driven the point home. The taco shells tested contain a genetically engineered protein that the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) says is fit only for animal consumption. The worst part is, the public had no way of knowing about the ingredient because companies don't have to label genetically engineered ingredients. If companies have to tell us how much vitamin C there is in the food we eat, why don't they have to tell us about these potentially harmful ingredients? The story about this potentially harmful product has been covered across the country, in over 600 places, including the LA Times: http://www.latimes.com/news/health/healthwire/20000918/tCB00V0830.html As disconcerting as this story is, there is something we can do! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is developing a proposal for handling genetically engineered ingredients in our food right now. We have the opportunity to make our voices heard about this public health issue, and we can do it in less than 30 seconds. Forward this message to your friends and family who are concerned about genetically engineered foods. They can visit our website at: http://www.gefoodalert.org and send a message to the FDA and our corporate leaders to demand the testing and labeling of genetically engineered ingredients. This is our chance to protect our health, and we shouldn't let it pass us by.
