David, I like what Quillin has to say, too, but I believe he is still

employed by " Cancer Treatment Centers of America, " where they use

mainstream treatment along with alternative treatments.

Kelly,

Forget about candida for a moment -- cancer cells love glucose. You must

avoid sugar and high glycemic carbs (except for natural sugars in whole

fruits & vegetables).

Please please read " Beating Cancer with Nutrition " by Patrick Quillin, PHD,

RD, CNS. This guy knows his stuff. There's not very many people out there

with PhDs in nutrition. This book is very important for anyone with cancer

or who wants to prevent cancer. It's packed with information, so much that

to truly absorb it I've had to read it three times. The newer editions come

with an audio CD for those who are too sick to read.

Some of his main points are:

Malnutrition kills more than 40% of cancer patients.

Nutrients can slow and reverse cancer growth.

Sugar feeds cancer.

Description of the book is here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0963837281

We buy copies of this book and give them to relatives, colleagues & people

we meet who have been diagnosed with cancer. My fiancee did well with this

for her Hodgkin's.

But do remember that Candida weakens ones immune system - said to spread 74

toxins

in the body that depletes ones resistive capacity and invites cancer growth.

It's basic to

have a healthy gastro-intestinal eco-system. The candida fungus floods the

circulatory

system when it's not controlled.

To those of you who have cancer, does anyone notice if they have pain in the tumor site when you have sugar or that you feel it physically growing at that time, or inflaming?

Cancer seems very closely linked to candida in my opinion. Perhaps the candida can get into the cell and mutate it (as candida can mutate itself) or just perpetuate the tumor with the growth hormones that candida posesses. Does anyone else have pain when eating high glycemic things? is it the cancer or the candida that is painful after the ingestion of sugar...Kelly

Yes, he is still the Director of Nutrition for Cancer Treatment Centers of

America

Cancer Treatment Centers of America is 'alternative' enough to be mentioned

in Quackwatch a number of times:

http://www.google.ca/search?q=site%3Awww.quackwatch.org+%22Cancer+Treatment+Cent\

ers+of+America%22

Quillin seems to be reaching the most people he can by being a part of the

mainstream treatment system.

He's against maximum sub-lethal dose chemotherapy. While he's supportive of

using *restrained* mainstream techniques to reduce the tumor burden for

advanced cases, he covers the whole alternative aspect, such as acid-base

balance, detox, emotional triggers & healing, along with juicing/pulping,

herbs & supplements.

I think that it's great that he's bringing this to the mainstream with a

non-adversarial approach, otherwise he'd have to move to Mexico, and a

great resource would be lost.

( Moderator's note: Williams was a noted scientist who did a lot of the early

research into vitamins. He discovered that we are all as individual as

snowflakes in our nutritional needs. Frank)

To Kelly W.

An old Roger Williams book talked about how chemically individual we each

are. I think he has a point.

In the aurovedic method of body typing they actually allow for *some of

this or that* blending of types. Only you can try by trial and discomfort

which and how many will work for you! The India (ian) medicine point of

view is worth visiting.... Ladd has written a book available in the US .
