Guest guest
It was here that I first learned of coconut milk, so thanks as I find it a delicious food! It is purportedly good for thyroid problems which I have but I also have high cholesterol and I know that coconut milk is high in saturated fat which is not recommended for the control of cholesterol . On the other hand, I read somewhere that coconut milk has zero cholesterol. I use the 75 percent less fat kind which is less tasty. Does anyone have any knowledge of the coconut milk/cholesterol thing? Also, I'm trying to find the calcium content of coconut milk. Many thanks, Audrey The New Search - Faster. Easier. Guest guest
Hi, Audrey Coconut milk has no cholesterol. Cholesterol is found only in animal based foods - meat, fish & dairy. However, many people believe that the cholesterol content in food is not what raises your cholesterol - it's the amount of fat in your diet. I was told many years ago that I had high cholesterol, went through the standard treatments and nothing worked at lowering it. I finally found a wonderful internist who said yes, I did have a high total cholesterol count, but that my ratios of triglycerides, HDL & LDL were good. He said there are some things they just haven't figured out yet. So, I say enjoy your coconut milk! Just keep your nutritional, exercise, and stress levels in balance and you should be fine. Wishing you peace & love, Suzanne www.todayiremembered.com , Audrey Newbury <gully444> wrote: > It was here that I first learned of coconut milk, so > thanks as I find it a delicious food! > It is purportedly good for thyroid problems which I > have but I also have high cholesterol and I know that > coconut milk is high in saturated fat which is not > recommended for the control of cholesterol .
