Hello everyone!

My name is Pamela and I'm new to this group. There sure are a lot

of knowledgeable people posting here!

What's going on with me is, about 3 weeks ago I went to a

Naturopathic doctor who diagnosed me with hypoglycemia and anemia

and put me on a special diet and gave me lots of suppliments to

take. I really enjoy the new diet, which is basically fruit and

veggies with hardly even any grains. At first it was hard, then I

discovered I could make great smoothie type blender drinks and now I

love it. I'm mixing the suppliments, protien powder, and flax seed

along with juices, raw veggies and frozen fruit and making one heck

of a power drink.

HOWEVER...a few days ago I started getting some acne like eruptions

on my chest and now it looks like I have the measles! My entire

chest, shoulders and upper back is covered with something that looks

like a rash of big ol red pimples. It's showing no sign of slowing

down; it's absolutely hideous but not particularly itchy or

anything. Could this be a result of my new diet?

I will greatly appreciate ANY ideas or information anyone is willing

to share with me!!!!

Pamela

Hi Pamela,

Are you drinking alot of water?? Sometimes when we change our diet

and start taking supplements to help rid our body of toxins, if we

don't drink enough water the toxins have no where to go...so they

erupt on our skin..this has happened to me (on my face), not as

badly as what you are saying...but it did happen.

Also, now that you are giving your liver a break, lots of toxins

will be coming out of it, so you want to make sure you are drinking

tons of water to try and flush them out.

Take your weight and divide by 2 and that is the number our ounces

you should drink a day...

If it doesn't start to subside, I would just go back to you

naturopath make sure that it is not something more...

To good health,

Shanta

Sounds like an allergy to something external. Maybe the diet is lacking in something that keeps people from breaking out there. It could be the supplements, I suppose, because people who are allergic to penicillin seem to break out in the bronchial tubes. Maybe one of the supplements makes people break out torso-wise. The soylent in the veggies caused two large, red patches on my inner forearms, just above the wrists, the entire three months that I was in produce on my first job...many, many years ago >sniff<.

Ask you Naturopathic doctor his/her opinion. Everybody's got one. Was you email address inspired by a Beatles song?

Hello Pamela,

I think you should go get a diagnosis from a

medical doctor. It sounds like a severe allergic

reaction and such reactions can become more

severe if they restrict the airways.

Once you have a diagnosis, you can look into

alternative approaches if you want, but I really

think you should get a diagnosis in case it's

something contagious; also, because with no

intervention it can get worse and be harder to

treat than if you begin treatment now.

Hi Pamela

I would think this is a result of your new diet which is detoxifying. I think it will calm down and stop once your body has cleansed sufficiently. Your diet sounds excellent to me. Good luck.
