An excellent article on getting back to basics in .. HEALTHY BYTES Today's Health Tip ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- ------ Back to Basics by Victoria (http://www.whyweigh t.co.za) Whenever I write an article I am always trying to come up with something new and exciting to wow everyone when it comes to health and weight loss. This time it will be different. I am getting back to the basics. Getting to the core of what Living Well is really about because that is what makes it work to get rid of weight and help you achieve better health. The basics are what will keep your immune system strong and keep you from being susceptible to disease. You must take the following steps if you want to get rid of the weight for good and get healthy. 1. Get rid of sugar. I don't know how many times I need to say this, but I will keep on saying it. Sugar does nothing but keep you fat, plain and simple. Sugar will keep you a mad craving lunatic and real foods will not satisfy you if you are addicted to sugar. Sugar perverts your taste buds and so does processed food. You must

shop in the outside isles. Go to the produce section first. Don't even bother with the inside isles that have packaged foods, frozen dinners and all the other man-made garbage. Your body needs real foods, not junk made in a lab. Buy different produce every week. It will insure that you get a variety of nutrients and keep you from getting bored with your food. Don't get into a rut of eating the same thing over and over. 2. If you are serious about getting healthy, you need to be buying organic everything. And the chemicals in food that are not organic have estrogenic effects in the body. To put that simply, the chemicals mess with your hormones. If you are dealing

with a thyroid disorder, you must eat organic foods to assist the thyroid in healing. If you eat animal products (meat and dairy) you must buy clean animal products that are free from hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics. Of course you can still lose weight while eating regular produce, but if ultimate health is what you seek, buy organic. 3. You gotta move your body everyday. Exercise and getting more oxygen into your body is crucial. If you don't like the deep breathing exercises in the plan, then do some sort of exercise you do enjoy. It is important to find something you like to do so that you will stick with it. 4. You need to drink at least 10 glasses of water

every day. The body uses at least that much to just survive. If you drink coffee, you need to drink more water because the caffeine in coffee dehydrates you. When you think you are hungry, have a glass of water first. Many times people mistake true thirst for hunger. 5. Eat only when you are hungry. Don't eat because you are bored, anxious, worried or especially when you are watching TV, driving or doing some other activity. Eat when you feel true hunger, sit down with your plate, chew each bite thoroughly, put your fork down between bites and enjoy your food. If you find yourself wanting to do other things while eating, that is a sign you are not truly hungry. True hunger is unmistakable. You will not want to do anything but eat your food when you are really hungry. And one other thing. When you are truly hungry, an apple or another type of live food tastes absolutely delicious. 6. Plan your meals. You don't need to be a fanatic about this, but many times we fail only because we fail to plan ahead. If you are going somewhere, plan ahead what you will eat so you won't feel trapped with trying to make a decision at the last minute on what you will eat. Feeling stressed about your meal choice will set you up for failure, so make it easy on yourself and plan ahead. 7. Stop buying junk and using the excuse it is for the rest of the family. You don't need junk, your

husband doesn't need junk and neither do your children. If you think you can buy them garbage without you eating it, you are wrong. If it is in your house, you will eat it. Don't play the lame game of willpower with this. Stock your house with the healthy foods and let everyone eat them with you. Living Well is a lifestyle change for the whole family. 8. Do not beat yourself up when you make a not so healthy choice. Don't let one slip give you the justification that you can mess up the rest of the day or week for that matter. Take note of how the not so healthy meal made you feel, then make a healthy choice at the very next opportunity. Get right back on the plan. Take it one meal at a time and one day at a time. 9. Give yourself time to adjust to all the changes. Don't expect to change everything overnight. Lifestyle changes take time and commitment. Take baby steps and pat yourself on the back for all the healthy changes you are making and especially for choosing to make changes at all. 10. Count your blessings every morning when you first wake up. Give Him the credit, where it belongs. If you don't think you are blessed, ask yourself if you have a roof over your head, food on the table, and if you are breathing. You are blessed. Doing just one of these 10 things will change your life for the better. The more you do, the closer you will be to achieving your goal of being slimmer, healthier and happier. Trust me on this. I know all about it. - Victoria http://www.whyweigh t.co.za ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Working for God on earth does not pay much, but His Retirement plan is out of this world. Great. Thank you Rahul. Good health is not so difficult as we think.

Good health is about the right choices.

Right Food -> Right Digestion -> Right Assimilation -> Right

Elimination.
