Guest guest
Audrey - calm down - take a big deep breath. Have you ever thought of it this way - the endodontist specializes in root canals, does them all day, is probaly better at doing them than someone that only does them occasionally. Letting dental work go can be dangerous - abcesses need to be dealt with or they can create bigger problems. I have had 5 root canals and none of them hurt - no people - I actually have good teeth - as they are three on top and two directly beneath we have to figure I got hit in the face with a ball or something when I was a preteen - probably a tether ball at summer camp. When I go to the dentist I bring my walkman and put in a tape and before you know it it's time to go home. Dental anxiety is very common but not necessary. Use some relaxtion tapes before hand and while in the chair. As I don't have anxiety anymore over dentists I prefer Ricky Martin - loud. I salsa in my head and totally distract myself. You may want to see a hypnotherapist in your area for a session. It may help with the whole life stuff you have going on. Breath deeply and relax Patricia Gilmore, C.M.Ht. Guest guest
Audrey: I can well comprehend. For some reason in this lifetime teeth are a big issue for me as well; it seems that when my foundations are teetering a bit I almost inevitably break one or lose a filling, and it is never a simple repair. I had two root canals last year but have deferred the crowns until I win the lottery. It's the *bills* that make me go OUCH! I use self hypnosis as well as a little hand mudra I have (I rub my forefinger with my thumb) in order to get through dentistry. I have a very high tolerance for medications for some reason; if I let them medicate me until I didn't feel it I'd have enough stuff in me to down a pachyderm. Something you might try that has also helped me is bringing a relaxation tape and walkman, putting it on and turning it up so you don't hear the dentistry noises. I tell the dentist I am " going away " and not to bother me unless he has to. Then I try to go to sleep and pretend someone doesn't have their hands in my mouth. It is a benign form of dissociation. Since dentists all seem to be using those horrible dental dams nowadays, I'd also advise that people avoid going to the dentist when their sinuses are acting up! I had to do it last year and I vowed I would wear a snorkel the next time I went. Good luck, lots of energy coming your way. Guest guest
Hello Cheyenne, What you are looking for are sometimes called " Singing Crystals " or Diamantina crystals. They come from Brazil and when gently rolled in the palm of your hand make a great tinkling sound different than that of crystals from other parts of the world. Almost always, crystals from the Diamantina mine are laser wands, some are double terminated. Hope this helps a little. Guest guest
Caoimhe... You have taken the first and most important steps on the journey of self-healing. One of the wonderful things about the process of change is that changes, once begun, tend to continue automatically and amplify over time. If you can, you may want to pick up Diane Stein's book, " The Essential Reiki, " and start doing Reiki on yourself. If you know someone who knows a form of energy medicine, that would be beneficial, too. Depending on your current religious or spiritual beliefs, prayer or meditation will help. I understand that the wounds may be too fresh for you to feel forgiveness at this time. Remember that the reason we forgive is to allow ourselves to heal. Until you are ready for that, you can use the energy from the anger you may be feeling to fuel your determination to feel better. Others on the list will undoubtedly have additional words of encouragement. If you want to write to me off the list, that would be OK, too. You can see more about me at www.scs-enterprises.com My best wishes for a fulfilling journey. -- ------------------------------ Joel P. Guest guest
Hi: Joel's suggestions are all good and I would like to add: First, a good paying job and since your knees probably dictate a sitting job, look into schooling or training for " sitting " jobs...like computers, medical coding, etc. Second, make lists of short term and long term goals and start checking them off as you accomplish them. Third, one of your short term goals should be to become independent and able to support yourself as soon as possible. Fourth, Joel is right...forgiveness will benefit you and will come in time, you have other priorities right now. If you can find a local abuse support group, it may help and provide you with contacts outside your current circle. Through your contacts at work, school or support groups, perhaps you can find someone to share an apartment with once you become employed. Your situation is temporary and a better future lies ahead... Penny caoimhenm <caoimhenm wrote:Hi, I'm new to this but I think I need some support in my life. Guest guest
Caoimhe, I wish I could reach out and touch and hug you but since I cannot I will extend every bit of empathy I can with my words. I feel for you and I wish your family did the same but they seem uncapable of it. I hear your need for support, the total support your mother should have given you and didn't. I hear, though you have not expressedly spelled it out, the pain of being raped and the added incredible pain of not being believed. Its hard to imagine that, yet it is so common. My wife was betrayed by her own mother who tried to take her child away from her and that was like a rape also, a rape of her soul. I think your aunt nun should get down on her knees and pray for forgivenesss for not understanding much about compassion and empathy and being so weak that she cannot even convince her sister, your mother I presume, to open her heart to the truth. And she should ask god for forgiveness for being so ignorant as to lecture a hurt young being about forgiveness, knowing nothing of its dynamics. I am sorry to hear that you are surrounded by such people, but alas that is the karma of so many people on this planet. We come here looking for pure love and needing pure love and do not find it easily. But I give you mine. If you want to continue communication with me I invite you to email me privately. Warm Regards, Mark
Guest guest
Hi I am a kinesiologist and have worked on clients who have been abused and have great results in letting thr body decide the priority issue to deal with that your bodies energies can safely deal with at that present time, therefore not putting your body into a healing crisis from trying to deal with to much to soon. I would suggest looking for a kinesiologist with some experience in the emotional side of your trauma, and a kinesiologist or chiropractor who is proficient with N.O.T. neural organisational techique, which may bring your knees back to normal, or at least will have dramatic improvement them. Good luck and best wishes on your healing journey, as you start to heal these things, many other things will heal along the way, its a good bonus for taking the steps to healing. caoimhenm <caoimhenm wrote:Hi, I'm new to this but I think I need some support in my life. Guest guest
Dear Swamy, Many thanks - I tried homeopathy a while ago but it made things a lot worse. I've used rescue cream and crab apple by itself, but it always comes back. I'm convinced that stress has a lot to do with it, wouldn't it be nice if we could get rid of that at a stroke? Guest guest
Dear Heather Abbott, I am not much expert in acupuncture at all; I studied Traditional medicine. My knowledge on this course is based on Ave Sina great Islamic physician. There, patients cure according to their nature. Natures classified to 4 groups which are called: 1- Biliary 2- Sanguine 3- Black Bile 4- Phlegmatic I think the problem you have shows that black bile increased in your body specially around your back. You need change your habit of diet and apply some oils to warm that area. My explaining is only a general but I will be glad if you explaine about your age, the kind of food you eat, sleeping, behavior and the area you are living.
