i believe the original recipe also called for breast milk, but i

can't see how that would make into GMP products nowadays, given the

concern over HIV

also, what a manufacturer might call 'manasamitra vatika' might not

actually contain all the above ingredients, as it seems common

nowadays to find Ayurvedic products that are given the original names

but are in fact modifications or a simplification of the original

formula

I am taking a herbal decoction called " Manasyadi Kashaya " which

sounds similar to Manasmrita Vatikam. I just want to make sure that

they are not the same. I don't have the label in front of me, but

what I was told is that Manasyadi kashaya is made with a lot of

effort and time using nervine herbs like Ashwagandha, Jatamansi,

etc. (a long list of herbs).

Matt -

What Todd has written is correct - there will be various versions of

these types of medicines - and the modern versions will not

necessarily be the same as the classic formulas. Vaidyaratnam PS

Varier frequently reccomended this medicine, he said that this

medicine can help to eliminate the past Samskaras therefore is useful

in all diseases which have negative mental patterns - like neurosis

and psychosis. The disease patterns are held as habitual pathways of

consciouness and eliminating the toxins which perpetuate those

patterns will be very helpful in keeping the patterns from reforming.

Shodhana therapies start the process and medicines, diet, healthy

activites, and healthy mental patterns can encourage a true and

lasting recovery. We can never think of purification as the end of

disease, it is more realistic to think of it as an opportunity to get

back to a healthy way of life. A kind of second chance, but we must

take advantage of this chance for it to be lasting.

Take medicines from respected companies, only!

Liz
