Guest guest
Considering your age and other symptoms I think this could be Vata vrudhi due to Dhatushinata i.e. weakness of Mansa dhatu and Asthi dhatu. I would suggest to start with Ashwagandha Ghruta 1 teaspoonful 3 times a day or Ashwagandha in powder form 1teaspoonful 3 times a day with honey. This will take many months to give appropriate strength to bones and muscles [ Mansa and Asthi dhatu] For fast and symptomatic results you can have light massage with Mahanarayana taila and Nadi Sweda with Dasha mula every days at least till the pain subsides You can have Calcium and E vitamin off course after consultation with your Allopathic family doctor. Guest guest
Since you are Vata type, the muscular pain may be due to muscle weakness and obstructive Vata. Pungent herbs and certain minero-herbal formulae have the efficacy to clear the obstructive vata. Pungent taste is able to stimulate vata, causing its motion and dispel obstructive Vata. The Panch Karma procedures like Virechana, Snehapana, Svedana and Vasti (herbal enemas) are employed to control the pain. Beside Panch Karma, the Rasayana (Rejuvenation) therapy is recommened for permanent or lasting relief. Shat-Bala Prasarni Taila is very effective for non-specific backache used in Panch Karma procedures. It can be prepared by mixing Mahanarayana Oil + Mahamasha Oil equally. Guest guest
In addition to the advice given online by the learned Vaidyas, may I also suggest from my own experience of having treated many such patients with muscle spasms that if they want to quicken their recovery, they may do some simple yogic exercises as explained fully at www.atbsnr.com (see links on The Technique and Patient Feedback). These exercises hardly take two or three minutes while lying down comfortably in bed to be done each time before one gets up after sleeping. They are also shown on YouTube.com Learned Vaidyas are also requested to recommend the same for quicker results purely in the interest of patients' welfare as no mnney is involved and they do not have any side-effects and the doer starts enjoying them even for relaxation purposes. Guest guest
Hi Elaine, Several Indian botanicals have been discussed, as well as some time- honored Ayurvedic remedies, which might also include Yogarajaguggulu. In my practice I often use Black Cohosh, which although is thought of as a menopausal remedy, it is specific to muscular pain. I often combine this with other vata-reducing antispasmodics such as Jamaican Dogwood, Myrrh (or Guggulu), Lobelia and Kava root. On the subject of supplements, magnesium is a better bet than calcium, since magnesium has a directly antispasmodic activities. best... On your back, that is. Claire _____________________ I try taking the garlic, but sorry couldn't put it down.So i discontinued.......... elaine.
